But Glenn Beck Is The Crazy One
Glenn Beck joins Brian Lilley to discuss his new book about Agenda 21, a fiction book based on a terrifying UN project.
Nexen/CNOOC
This is a bit profane, but it contains no small measure of truth.
Or, to put it a different way:
Nexen-CNOOC deal approved… que Left-wing sheep rants with no understanding of economics, the company, or the terms.
The Rant: China is taking over our resources.
The Reality: The Alberta government owns all the producing and non-producing leases that Nexen has. Nexen has maybe 1.5 billion barrels of oil equivalents, and the oil sands alone contain over 1500 billion barrels. 90 percent of Nexen’s Q3 cash flow came from outside of Canada, so it’s only 10 percent “Canadian” resources anyway… Not a huge deal. Anyone in the Financial markets or the Oil and Gas industry knows this is the right decision and will result in increased productivity and job production in Canada. This small stake is not a threat to national security.
The Rant: China is going to take all the jobs and move them to China.
The Reality: Not allowed under the restrictions. More jobs created in Canada due to increased Capital injections.
The Rant: The NDP or Liberals would never do this.
The Reality: No previous Governments have ever blocked a foreign takeover. The Conservatives were the first with the blocking of the Potash deal.
There is a huge amount of ignorance and uneducated opinions on this topic, which is why there is a backlash from lefty loonies. Canadians who understand the full terms and the free market economy should be happy.
The US had a monopoly on our oil and were paying $25.00 per barrel less than world prices. That will end. Maybe the yanks should have thought thru using the Keystone pipeline as a political tool to appeal to the President’s anti free market base.
Elections have consequences. Canada has no intention of following the now marxist USA into the dumper. When you shit on your friends, don’t be surprised when they find new friends.
Might it not be the perfect time for U.S. Conservatives to break free?
In 1987, Preston Manning and like minded colleagues created the Reform Party of Canada. They were fed-up with the Liberal-lite, Conservative-In-Name-Only mentality of those in the Progressive Conservative (PC) party at the time.
Reform achieved their first electoral success in 1989 with the election of Deborah Grey in a by-election. Then just 4 years later, in 1993, they had 52 members elected when, at the same time, the PCs were almost obliterated from Parliament, retaining just 2 seats.
They continued gaining power over the next 7 years, renaming themselves the Canadian Alliance in 2000 and having the PCs merge with them in late 2003 into what would then be called the Conservative Party of Canada. In 2006, under the leadership of Stephen Harper, the Conservatives gained power as a minority government, competing with 3 other parties in the House of Commons. Ever since, they have continued to gain MPs and finally achieved majority government status on May 2, 2011.
From October 31, 1987 until January 23, 2006 is most certainly a long time to change the political environment in a nation, but it had to begin somewhere.
This brief history lesson may serve as an important primer for conservative Americans who are now learning that the heads of the Republican Party have betrayed them. With discussions now emerging of Michelle Obama running for President in 2016, there may very well be no time like the present for real conservatives to break free from the GOP and provide American voters with a real choice.
Note: Much thanks to Brian & Tim for clarification on historical events & dates.
One European’s Views of Conservatives
On this video I posted a while back, I recently received the following comment from a person in Ireland:
Arts and media are dominated by “liberals” (incorrect US usage) because conservatives fall into only two categories: the wealthy and powerful, and the stupid and fearful. “Liberals” view life as something to be enjoyed, protected, and shared, and so many of them become writers, teachers, comedians, artists, actors, etc. Conservatives worship suffering, oppression, and hierarchy, so they gravitate toward business and finance where they can dominate others, or stick to miserable manual labor.
One wonders if such views are indicative of those throughout much of Western Europe?

Republicans did poorly among Hispanics last week. How to address that problem? The answer, they’re told by Washington savants, is to back an immigration reform that … increases the number of Hispanics! It’s a plan so crazy it just might be crazy.
There’s Gotta Be an Important Lesson Here
Fact: The last time a Republican was elected president without a Nixon or Bush on the ticket was 1928.
Good.
The sooner we get to the point where the general public recognizes journalists as professional bloggers, the better we’ll all be.
DD: That doesn’t seem to be something news companies will be able to do. So, is there a way for journalism to be commercially successful on the Web?
JG: The future of journalism isn’t necessarily a commercial enterprise.

The 7% advantage
I will never be in favour of electronic or Internet enabled voting.
On Monday, several voters complained that their electronic ballot machine cast the wrong vote. All the complaints were made by people who voted at the Bur-Mil Park polling location.
One of the voters, Sher Coromalis, says she cast her ballot for Governor Mitt Romney, but every time she entered her vote the machine defaulted to President Obama.
In other news, Saskatchewan civic elections are today. Voter ID is required….obviously racist towards our First Nations communities.
The Tories’ Bilingual Boondoggle
The Nanny State is alive & well in Canuckistan, even under a “conservative” (aka CINO) government. 🙁

Jonathan Swift, eat your heart out.
1 In the beginning Govt created the heavens and the earth. 2 Now the economy was formless and void, darkness was over the surface of the ATMs, and the Spirit of Govt was hovering over the land.
3 And Govt said, “Let there be spending,” and there was spending. 4 Govt saw that the spending was good, and that it separated the light from the darkness. 5 Govt called the spending Investments, and this he did in the first day.

That Which The Left Can’t Defeat, They Infiltrate
We have seen the enemy and he is James Moore.
“The government is committed to ensuring that foreign investments benefit Canadians. We will review Target’s proposal and make an announcement in due course,” James Maunder, director of communications for Moore, said Thursday in an emailed statement.
Target’s plans to sell cultural content such as books, CDs and DVDs will be subject to a net-benefit test under the Investment Canada Act. Cases are approved based on a commitment to Canadian content.

Very fun reading the time-line and replies of @TheBrazman today. Seems he’s upset a certain Toronto journalist. She, of course, threatens to ask ‘tough questions’.
Sun News Network will be broadcasting the match between Senator Brazeau and Justin Trudeau on the 31’st. Tune in and maybe send a little something to the Canadian Cancer Society, eh?
For the record…Brazeau wins in a walk.

I reacted strongly when Santorum went on his porn jihad. Nothing bothers me more than censorship emanating from the right.
Glenn is right. After this, Santorum is an unacceptable candidate.
