They should be paying us!

So this article came across my screen yesterday, it was months old but new to me. The argument is that Canada is a carbon-neutral country.
The idea, put forward by F. Larry Martin, a retired senior civil servant, is that Canada absorbs more carbon dioxide than we emit due to our forests, farmland etc.
I called up Mr. Martin and had him on radio. I think you will enjoy the chat.

Life is more than politics

So Ron James the comedian came to Ottawa and I interviewed him for my radio show on Newstalk 580 CFRA – you can listen live M-F from 7-10 ET.
Anyway, some conservative types told me they were not happy that I interviewed him because he didn’t like Stephen Harper.
Well frankly, we didn’t talk politics. He mentioned Trump once an I kept going on about comedy and mental health.
I think Ron is hilarious and at his best when touching on those parts of life we all relate to.
And he was in town to promote a comedy festival in Ottawa that raises money for mental health. So screw politics for a few minutes.

Who needs to remember soldiers killed by Jihadis

cirillo vincent.jpgPrime Minister Justin Trudeau’s Liberal government has no plans to mark the second anniversary of the terrorist attack on Parliament Hill and the slaying of Corporal Nathan Cirillo at the National War Memorial.
“I am not aware of any plans to mark the anniversary this year,” Zoltan Csepregi, Manager of Media Relations for Veterans Affairs Canada told CFRA in an emailed statement Thursday. “I spoke with my colleagues at DND (Department of National Defence) and they are not aware of any events this year following the plaque unveiling last year.”

The terrorist attack is about radical Islam not Trump or Christians

A terrorist attack carried out by a radical Islamist took place on the weekend and then another Islamist group executed a Canadian, but hey, let’s talk about gun control, or Donald Trump or anything but radical Islam.
Brian bursts the many bubbles around the Orlando attack plus tackles why this isn’t about gun control with Faith Goldy, chats with intelligence analyst Phil Gurski and even takes a pause to discuss the F-35 with fighter pilot Billie Flynn.

Wynne whines over “attack” while Trudeau ponders reprimanding Vickers

Kathleen Wynne actually claims that criticism of her policies by a Alberta legislator Derek Fildebrant amounts to sexism. Justin Trudeau used the foreign workers program that he criticized and after manhandling fellow MPs, may discipline Kevin Vickers for taking down a protester.
Brian speaks with Lowell Green, with Faith Goldy about so-cons and the Conservative Party. Dean Brown on the Stanley Cup Finals, Jason Kenney on Conservative firsts and Rick Chiarelli, Councillor College Ward, about the Mooney’s Bay play structure.
