Juxtapose!

On this day, we come to proclaim an end to the petty grievances and false promises, the recriminations and worn out dogmas, that for far too long have strangled our politics. We remain a young nation, but in the words of Scripture, the time has come to set aside childish things.

  1. The smug reward is always when reality hits these nerds like a brick in the face.
Hmmm, pleasant times ahead for some of these yo yo’s standing in unemployment lines, packing up the few belonging their able to remove from their overpriced repossessed homes.
Yea, Hope & Change is a coming. Hope you get on Acorns handout list to start, that will defiantly mean some change.

  2. Good news, they are going to turn their backs on stale old doctrines that make no sense in the modern world, like:
    ** socialism
    ** climate change
    ** feminism
    ** political correctness
    ** David Letterman show
    ** Islam
So I’m looking forward to it. When does it all start?

  3. Perhaps there was a fly on his face that he was just about to squash!
His tongue is hanging out because he is salivating over the expected taste of said fly!

  4. Keep that priest handy fellas! There was some good news from the inauguration!
    Teddy Kennedy had a seziure!
America’s worst limosine liberal and rich-kid-murderer just about had the Big One!
I know it is not nice to wish harm to people but the sad truth is that when people like Teddy Kennedy are dead and gone, the world becomes a better place.

  5. If I were a black person in America I’d be giving ‘whitey’ the 4 finger and thumb nose salute too!
The largely conservative white establishment has been f**king over blacks and middle class America far too long. Their day of reckoning has come and it looks good on them.
Bush and Company go back and crawl into that hole in the ground that your forefathers slithered out of a long time ago. Good riddance!

  6. KKK Democrat Byrd dragoned out before Teddy.
    It’s a New World Record: a twofer.
    …-
“Earlier before Senator Kennedy’s collapse, Senator Robert Byrd was also taken ill and medical staff were called in to look after him, the TV network added. …
    Philippine Star”

  7. Let the games begin.
Voting “Present” no longer an option.
No worries for anyone because the new Administration comes from the Illinois House of Honesty in Politics.

  8. The National Post had a great unsigned editorial today about Obama’s use of scripture and invoking
God. They wondered if, given the liberal response to Mr. Harper saying God Bless Canada, if there would be any outrage from the Left with Obama’s religiousity. Or whether the next time a Canadian politician says God Bless Canada it will be okay, because that is “being like Obama”.
I guess it is fine to invoke God if you are left of center.

  9. Hey, stirred too much, blacks have an entire continent to move to if they feel they are downtrodden in the US. Pick a country, any country, there to move to and definetely things will be different for you. Suggestions, Zimbabwe, Congo or maybe the Sudan.

  10. Why is BO always referred to as a black man? Is he not the child of a black father and a white mother? Does that not mean he has one left foot on both sides of the racial divide?
This morning Canada’s “all Obama all the time” radio listeners were treated to another “folkfest” phone in. More than one person suggested they would rather be American and of course that other CBC darling, Khadar, it was suggested should be home soon and PMSH should do the right thing and make it happen.

  11. “I guess it is fine to invoke God if you are left of center.”
Many of the comments over at the N.P. are pointing out how “that’s different”; Obama’s God Bless is “different” than Bush’s or Harper’s.
Expect a flurry of media stories about how “different” it actually is; expect celebrities to now start saying God Bless at the end of their award acceptance speeches.
Me, I am waiting for the oceans to start slowing and the planet to start healing – after all – it is day two!
I guess even God took seven days, though so we should cut him some slack.

  12. Wow, what a party. All the MSM (especially Canadian) showed up with their BLUE DRESSES on, one prediction is that the Dry Cleaning Establishment will need to be part of the bailout package too, because these soiled DRESSES will be placed in the closet for future worship moments or possibly for the 15 minutes of notoriety that Warhol promised. DNA labs will be BUSY.

  13. I guess I missed something yesterday. What time was that “Hussien” prgoram on?
On a more seriouhs note, I have never read about any civilization that lasted forever. The end should come faster now that for the current so-called civilization as we have the proper leadership for the end game. Hussien’s more dangerous moves will come when he reduces the effectiveness of the FBI,CIA,Homeland security and all the other agencies tasked with protecting America. The media won’t report these moves so we will have to wait for the consequence which will take a bit of time…be patient, say a little prayer!

  14. Has there been any context given, ie who he was doing this to.
I have said before that rahm is going to be a problem. Obama needs a bad cop but I think Rahm wont last much past the mid terms

  15. Never watched and heard his speech at the same time. Heard most of it live on the radio and then much of it with the sound off at the curling club.
The takeaway quotes for me were around people taking responsibilty for their plight. This is utter nonsense IMO as clearly the dems plan to bankroll every interest group that’s out there – lining the pockets of machine “communtity organizers” every where. The tempo of much of his speech seemed to be a half a beat too quick – much faster than his template – kennedy in ’61.
Visually he looked to be lecturing almost hectoring people – turning left to right and pointing rarely if ever looking straight ahead (was he looking at his teleprompters?). Again not like JFK and he looked stern and almost angry as well.
Sadly i think the visuals will be the more accurate reflection of how he will conduc himself and that brings to mind only one president of recent times – Jimmy Carter – who spent four years (and ever since really) blaming everyone else for why he was such a crummy failure.

  16. Class act, that Rahm Emanuel. And he’s called a “devout” Jew? Would that also be like that “devout” Catholic, Paulie Martin?

  17. Don’t you just love gracious winners? The true ‘classless’ society has been well represented here. Thanks for that, not stirred.

  18. Speaking of classless, I wonder if the Bushies did the same stunts the Clintonista staffers pulled when the change happend….you know, foul graffitti on the wall, glued phones, vandalizing the computers.
One side has respect for the office and the process and one doesnt. Maybe this time it will be different.

  19. I see the children comfortably displaying their leadership qualities again.
    Nasty aren’t they?
Like when Obama subtly gave the finger to McCain.
Wish they had at least bit of Mrs. Bush’s class.
    Thanks Jay!
    Sent our message.
P.S. Hubby picked yesterday out of several dates to pick from for extensive oral surgery involving upper and lower jaw – hidden wisdom’s growing sideways, etc., so all in all the day for him was better spent in a daze of pain without all the hip hop slop blaring from every stinking media orifice.

  20. not stirred enough – Which party freed the blacks? Republican.
Which party was associated with Byrd’s KKK? Democrats
In Africa there is still slavery. In the US, blacks have been freed, and they live richer lives than 90% of the worlds population. Your suggestion then is to spite those who have granted them so much, including freedom.
You sound like a recent, and completely ignorant, College or University graduate.
And the mis-education system wants more tax dollars.

  21. not stirred. Blacks in America do one whole lot better than those in Liberia no? Liberia was set up for former slaves no? Hmm thinking, over rated no?

  22. Anyone see the original star trek where the children are in charge?
    I’m just saying,
“You sound like a recent, and completely ignorant, College or University graduate.”
    Too true Marko,

  23. “If I were a black person in America I’d be giving ‘whitey’ the 4 finger and thumb nose salute too!
The largely conservative white establishment has been f**king over blacks and middle class America far too long. Their day of reckoning has come and it looks good on them.”
Ah yes. Continue to blame conservative whitey for the negative consequences of decisions made by black individuals. God forbid that they are held accountable for their actions. God forbid that a person, of any color, has to WORK towards their successes and not have it handed to them on a silver platter.
Your comment sure helps conquer that racism issue.

  24. “Your comment sure helps conquer that racism issue.”
Come, come,Chairman. We all know that the Black man can’t be racist, only “whitey”. Where you been?

  25. I for one am glad racism is over. If you want to bring up victim politics you can speak to the hand!
I see a few positives with BO as President. First, was the look on the faces of countless people yesterday(mostly black people). Second, was the music selection at the Neighborhood Ball. Yesterday’s music is a microcosm of the change of the guard from the Baby Boomers to Generation X. Most here will disagree but this simple little thing shows some of the inclusiveness that people are talking about. More often than not, people that I know will turn off most events when the geriatric crews take the stage. Say what you will, but yesterday Rock & Roll made the official move to “Oldies” music.

  26. Homez – A black man is president. It’s a good thing in itself. No argument here. But rock’n’roll is dead? That’s harsh. Now what? Everyone starts wearing their pants around there knees, their hats sideways and grooving to hop hip(sic)?

  27. Homez…what racism are you referring to?
Is it racist to ‘label’ a person as Black? That’s been the theme thru out the election and post election.Blacks and whites voted for Obama because he was black…that’s racism!
Or is it racist to treat a group differently, just because they are ‘different’? In that case racism is alive and well starting at the top in Canada. Why are the people of native origin treated so differently in Canada. I’m talking not paying taxes, and having one set of rules for them and one set for ‘others’
Are you kidding me…’racism is over’??
    Our laws are racist.
And look at ‘not stirred”s comment. As long as people believe a certain race is the eternal victim, racism will thrive, especially in the mind of the so-called victim.

  28. not stirred, not to be rude or flippant, but go soak your head.
The largely conservative white establishment doesnt (blank) anyone over, they simply demand that a person work in order to succeed (you know, that thing where you have to get up every day, put on a nice shirt, pants that fit, and take mass transit to an office for 8 hours a day). Business, Politics, office jobs of ALL kinds demand that a person show respect to others and work in order to succeed, and those that demand an education simply require a person to learn to work a little harder in order to better themselves. Respect, education and hard work are all firmly within the control of a single person. The choices of the black population does more to keep them down than any white conspiracy does, and I speak as someone who worked full time in order to pay for university because my parents couldnt afford to send me (and who was smart enough to choose to not do the horizontal mambo when I was a teenager and end up with a kid before I was married and able to afford it).
Bush and Company party that ended slavery, and I believe someone before me mentioned a prominent Democrat KKK member (want another one, read 110 People Who Are Screwing Up America by Bernie Goldberg).
If you’re younger than 40, then I doubt you’ve ever known oppression, because it is not the younger generation that has known suffering because of racism. And if you are younger than 40, then why dont you crawl into that hole that you want Bush in stay there until you can cut it out with all the victim crap. Take some responsibility, get an education, heck, get a trade, those pay amazingly well, take credit for your kids, and stop blaming everyone else for your own mistakes. (Oh and stop writing music glorifying violence, alcohol abuse, illegal substance use, and assaulting women, it doesnt help anything)

  29. Indy, care to speculate as to the look on all those (mostly black) faces when they realize the “O” can’t do everything? Reality is that, in my personal opinion, the man has no substance besides being able to give tingles to MSM reporters and talk of change while filling the pews with old Clinton hacks. He can talk the talk(from the teleprompter) but can he walk the walk? It’s a big world out there and to be the most powerful man in the world is tough, no matter what the colour of your skin is. I just hope this mere mortal can handle the daunting task ahead.
“You can fool some of the people all the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you cannot fool all of the people all the time.”
btw, Homez, Rock & Roll will never die.

  30. “But rock’n’roll is dead?”
    Duck
I didn’t say that, I said it has been relegated to geezer music. That’s all. I like lots of rock, I’m just a Hip Hop troll.
That being said, I did feel some “inclusiveness” seeing people I listen to being considered for an important show. It may sound silly but it is what it is.
    Blueteck
I forgot the /sarc off tag. I would have to be blind not to see the reverse racism but as far as “white guilt” goes: It’s over, talk to the hand!

  31. I keep hearing what an extraordinary man Obama is,but the only reason I hear supporting these claims are because of his skin color.Next there will be a poll asking voters what their favorite color is,and voila,a purple president and a turquoise first lady.

  32. I understand he’s announcing cure for cancer, heart disease, and world hunger later today.
Peace will have to wait till next week.

  33. TC
Everything you say is true; but, I still won’t try to take yesterday away from those whom it meant the world to.
Commenter Ann and I yesterday analogized GWB to the “Dark Knight”. Barak is Harvey Dent. He may not deserve the accolades thrown his way, but it is what it is. After all, can’t there be anything positive about BO being President?
PS in hind site I wonder how different McCain would have been wrt domestic policy. McCain may have done more harm to conservatism in the US than BO will do. At least with BO in charge we know who the wolf is, with McCain the wolf would have appeared to be a sheep.

  34. I didnt realize healing the planet meant distributing reflective material all over the washington mall.
is there nothing barrack cant do?
hey bama , ho bamma , bamma bamma hey
cant you see Barry what youve done for me
    hey bama Obama.
CBCpravda has been on a two day Obamagasm.
appears that little mosque on the prairie has taken over the news department. All Khadr all the time.
