Victims Of A Warming Planet

More than two dozen sea turtles stressed by cold ocean waters have been airlifted from New England to recover in balmy Florida.

I have ice forming in my habitat(if I don't burn that pesky natural gas) and it is hampering my reproductive cycle. Please send me and my mate (of the female persuasion) to Florida so we may survive or at least enjoy a bowl of fresh turtle soup.

Surely the fig leaf wearing fruit fly Doc has an explanation for this.

The AGW crowd will claim that the water was colder because of all the ice melting...

A better use of tax dollars than sending the Obama family to Hawaii.

I'll be sure to let y'all know how they taste...

And Texas Canuck, if y'all crave turtle soup, may I recommend Lone Cabbage Fish Camp on SR 520 at the St. Johns River in Brevard County? It's a bit rustic, but don't let that bother you. The natives are friendly as long as y'all don't tell 'em you're from the Big Crapple, and how much better y'all run things up there. Them folks gets fed to the gators in the river as soon as it gets dark...

> SeaWorld officials say an unseasonably warm November

November 2012 was unseasonably cool, with a mean temperature at Boston of 42.1F, which is 2.7F below normal. It was the 15th coldest November since 1920.

The extent to which people go to blame Global Warming for things - even to the point of just making stuff up - is remarkable.

" The turtles will be returned to their natural habitat when water temperatures are warmer."

Are you kidding me????

They are actually going to track turtles through a season or two of bad weather,because...... we don't want upset turtles?

There must be something that us regular taxpaying folk just don't understand,a nuance that escapes us while we drag our knuckles across the broken pavement.

I do hope the people in Staten Island appreciate the efforts of their gov't.

Actually, wallyj, they don't have to track them. They got them set up in condos on Daytona Beach, with a sea-side pool so they will feel at home.

I am kidding about that. The article says they took them to SeaWorld Orlando, which has specifically designed enclosures to help marine creatures such as this. They will be well cared for over the winter by the SeaWorld crew, and will be flown home at taxpayer expense when temperatures improve back home. Just like the rest of the snowbirds we get down here every winter...

I am surprised, though, that they weren't brought down here in time to vote for the Chimp in Chief and his allies. Most of the REST of the snowbirds came down early specifically to do that. Vote by absentee ballot back up north and vote again down here in Florida. Because, after all, many of them are from the Big Crapple. And that makes them special.

Stressed sea turtles? Are they by any chance shell-shocked?
