First comment at Protein Wisdom's take on gov't bribery.
So, the government is going to provide the funds to pay the fines they impose on the contractors for non-compliance with regulations written by the government.Posted by lance at September 29, 2012 12:39 PMYou couldn’t make this stuff up.
Sleazy people clustered around a person with the authority to spend other people's money increase in both number and sleaziness exponentially in the amount of other people's money at stake. Cheers;
Posted by: MikeSr at September 29, 2012 1:00 PMRemarkable that a man with connections to crime and sleaze, with no proven experience in management might get reelected over a squeaky clean brilliant leader. What in the world is happening to the US???
Posted by: Patsplace at September 29, 2012 1:06 PMWhich means the taxpayer pays more. Kinda like schools and hospitals having to pay huge carbon taxes. Who ends up paying? The government via the taxpayer.
So ridiculous.
Posted by: Soccermom at September 29, 2012 1:06 PMDo the employees of these defense contractors know this? I think so, but it hasn't shown up in the msm's bogus polling data yet.
Somewhere in the distance, a dog barks.
Posted by: marc in calgary at September 29, 2012 1:45 PMAnd the money to pay the fines will be borrowed from China and added to the debt.
Does this count as a campaign contribution?
Posted by: Fred at September 29, 2012 1:47 PMAnd in the U.S. of A.,this will be announced as "Obama saved thousands of jobs in the Defence industry".
Yep, and he's gonna pay them utility Bills too.
Posted by: dmorris at September 29, 2012 2:15 PMAnd 58 million people vote for this guy.
Posted by: glenn at September 29, 2012 2:57 PM58 million voted for him the first time.
Fool me once, shame on you
Fool me twice .... wait a second ... everybody oh my Lordy, got Obama-phone ... he's gonna do more!
That's the US government, Saskies. Or maybe you're Canuck Dippers who have nothing better to do than libel the Conservatives.
Its almost as if this administration were ummm...lawless.
Posted by: @PurpAv at September 29, 2012 3:57 PMThat was my comment! I'm a very very very very minor star now.
Add more "verys" to taste.
Posted by: cranky-d at September 29, 2012 6:30 PMsoccermom: Exactly. Notice that the huge teacher's pension funds of billions, Ontario's alone is $107 billion, is all invested in what they call "socially responsible investments", ie; the environment, including the carbon credit exchanges.
It's no coincidence that environmental doomsday faux science is hammered into children at school from day one-children must believe this crap to keep their pension investments healthy.
It's also no coincidence that the school districts that fork out these huge amounts don't complain about it for the exact same reason.
