Paul Krugman Has A Nobel Prize In Economics

And my compost bin doesn't.

Regarding Paul Krugman having a Nobel Prize in economics, only the awarding of the peace prize to Obama and again to Gore better exemplify the intellectual bankruptcy of the Nobel organization.

"It’s very hard to get inflation in a depressed economy. " ?!?! Are you kidding me? This guy calls himself an economist?
Well I guess if you can ignore Weimar Germany, Zimbabwe, Argentina, Pierre Trudeau's Canada, etc., etc, etc. then you too might qualify for a Nobel prize in economics. Un-freakin'-believable!

I believe Krugman won his Nobel for micro-economics...in other words, the macro is not his area of expertice. Not that the Nobel hasn't descended to a bad joke and Krugman is batshit crazy.

Why is it that every time I hear Krugman ... I think Chomsky?

Posted by: OMMAG at June 19, 2012 7:58 PM

The vacuous?

Every time I hear Krugman I think of Oompa Loompas.

The guy is such a political hack anymore. He is irrelevant as far as I am concerned, not unlike James Hansen, Pukey Suzuki, Al Gore, and many others.

Also, I can't stand to watch this mental and physical midget on TV longer that a few seconds without wondering if my lunch is going to stay put.

Nobel Prizes are a sick joke!

Some Chinese woman, who I could care less knowing a thing about, apparently just won the Nobel Peace Prize. All I could think was, how many people did she need to kill to get that?

Without any predator drones nonetheless.

...and your compost bin probably has more intelligence than Krugman.

Imagine that Krugman's basic idea re. WW2 ending the Great Depreassion because of deficit spending is true for just a moment. In 1939, US national debt was trivial in relative proportion to today's economy. It had enormous headroom to take on even huge amounts of debt relatively easily. Today, there is virtually no headroom. Any gains from stimulus spending will be swamped by increased interest payments on the debt.

Second, spending on a war meant stimulating huge amounts of industrial deveiopment, all of which converted to peacetime production after the war. In short, it was investment in capital and economic growth.

However, US stimulus spending has largely been focused on consumption. Its impact vanishes the moment the money's spent with no continuing legacy.

You are right, DrD. That Krugman could make such a stupid statement shows that "there's no there there."

Just wait. It would not surprise if they did.

I'm with you, man!

Whenever I see Freidman,Krugman,Axelrod, or "Betty Boop" Wasserman-Shultz, I wanna chuck my cookies.

They NEVER have an argument that make sense.
Unless you're brains are scrambled.

Retards all of 'em.

Paul Krugman does not have a Nobel Prize in Economics. There is no such thing.
He has the Sverige Ryksbank Prize in Memory of Alfred Nobel.

The Nobel family want nothing to do with it.

We have a real alien in the White House. Why do we need to invent one?

Actually, it was the first season OUTER LIMITS episode "The Architects of Fear" which I believe the good Dr. Krugman is referring to.
