"Coronation Streak"

Posted by: Aviator at February 3, 2012 1:16 AM

According to my MPs office:

The program is part of TOU.TV's web-based focus on offering more complex, and internationally-known french language content than conventional television. Radio-Canada acquired the series as it does for the dozens of other programs on the site.

Here's what it's about:

After the brutal death of her husband, 40 year old suburban housewife Sophie finds out from her stepmother that her husband did not run a successful computer company but actually a production company for pornographic films called "Soph'X" which she has now inherited. When she discovers the mortgage her husband has also left her, she reluctantly takes over and tries to run the business. She decides she wants to change the business to focus on fantasy stories rather than hard porn. The stories center around her efforts to deal with her family (who all knew her husband's secret) and support her kids.

If you've ever seen the Showcase series "WEEDs" from the U.S., this is to the porn industry what "Weeds" is to the marijuana industry.

The series is written and directed by Cathy Verney. The nudity in it is fleeting and non-graphic.

Posted by: Louise at February 3, 2012 6:55 AM

To get serious for a moment, doesn't this just illustrate that some people are in a state of panic regarding the future of CBC? I love the smell of panicky leftards.

Posted by: Louise at February 3, 2012 7:03 AM

See, if CBC really wanted to controversial, they'd have Clitoral Mosque on the Prairie.

Posted by: Mark at February 3, 2012 7:45 AM

Mark - but only if the rest of the woman were in the mountains. Gotta keep it culturally sensitive.

Posted by: C_Miner at February 3, 2012 7:51 AM

Will the reporting on this take a different pov when the site gets picked up by the porn aggregators?
Sites like that are notorious for viruses.
Let me fix that headline
CBC website contaminated by porn web virus.

Posted by: E Mac at February 3, 2012 8:18 AM

C_Miner ... too true. Of course, if the CBC really wanted to be cutting edge then they'd have Clitorectomy on the Prairie. Not the best p0rn title though. :)

Great stuff! I got a kick out of the ones regarding Coronation Street - I'll have you know that staid old show featured two teen lesbians in bed a few months back and the implication of nudity. I can't be sure, although I tried looking down the front of the TV.

Posted by: Martin Pearl at February 3, 2012 10:31 PM

Hahahahaha!!

That clip with Kirstine Stewart, VICE PRESIDENT at CBC, was the frickin funniest sendup I've seen in a long, long time.Mary Walsh could lear(n) something here!

Ms Stewart's spouting off puffy self-rightous drivel, while in the background, dicks and saliva fly around the porn movie set. That was "hellariously" funny.

When can we see more?

Really that was funny, I don't care who you are....
