Newsweek Becomes Newsweak

Newsweek, the failed uber-leftie magazine that sold for just $1.00 a few years ago, has hit a new low with its latest edition:

Newsweek_Sullivan%27sAttackAgainstRepublicans.jpg

Remember the Left's recent assertions that civility is paramount? Andrew Sullivan clearly missed that memo. :-(

Update: 'AtlanticJim' has provided this hilarious Twitter link. Here's are some of the many funny Tweets there:

Some folks had a little fun last night at the expense of this nause.

That front cover is atrocious. Kim Obama, Great Leader

Posted by: Robert of Ottawa at January 16, 2012 7:10 AM

It's probably something to do with Sarah Palin's uterus, Andy.

powerlineblog's comment can't be improved on by me:
'Well, sure. We who are unhappy that unemployment has increased on Obama’s watch, that over-regulation has stymied economic growth, that our children now owe a $15 trillion debt that we can’t pay–hey, we’re just dumb! We obviously aren’t smart enough to understand how devastating our economy, unemploying millions of Americans and burdening our children with trillions of dollars in debt is really a great idea.'

Posted by: yop at January 16, 2012 7:31 AM

Forgiving them for a moment for moving in the general direction of eye grabbing headlines....macleans does this cober provocation schtick as well.....this is not going to help obama ay all. People may not read the article but they will see the headline calling them stupid.

Rule 1 of politics dont call the electorate stupid.

Better headline...how did obamas supporters get so fooled.

Sully is engaging in major self justification. There are some things to like about obama but they are of the generic sort. Results matter, and the results arent there. Process also matters and obama has done nothing to change or improve the process. The one thing you can guarantee is his immeadiaate reach for the partisan.

This is the first of many as the left ramp up to November and the relelection of The ONE. I expect they have an arsenal of good vs bad just waiting until the Rep. pick their candidate.

The old adage..You ain't seen nuthin' yet...seems very apropo.

Posted by: Alberta Girl at January 16, 2012 7:37 AM

First sight I thought it was a joke.

But then, if someone had presented that as a satire, the lefties would simply roll their eyes and mumble about right-wing hatred/racism...

Posted by: Johnny at January 16, 2012 8:12 AM

Andrew Sullivan's missing a lot of things.

Posted by: Iowa Jim at January 16, 2012 8:28 AM

Great picture . . . Obozo is looking old, tired and the jowls are right off Jimmy Carter's face.

Posted by: Fred at January 16, 2012 8:45 AM

Should not the name of that magazine be "Newspeak"?

Posted by: Ken (Kulak) at January 16, 2012 8:48 AM

I haven't read the article but I will tale a stab at the answer anyways," because they're racists"? Doesn't this guy read the NYT?

Posted by: wallyj at January 16, 2012 9:08 AM

"Newspeak" (very good Ken)is saying with their ad-hominem attack, we have lost, we have no argument, but buy our magazine anyway. Weird marketing strategy.

stephen writes, "There are some things to like about obama ..." Examples, please?

Posted by: lookout at January 16, 2012 9:18 AM

Like all of Lefty's self answering questions this one is also projective in nature. A question tossed out to the faithful like;"why are Obama's critics so dumb?" is a psychological plea to understand why the asker of the question is so dumb they can't understand the criticism.

When you become "so dumb" you can't understand people who tell you your president has acted unconstitutionally since taking office, you really are dumb - or so corrupt that unconstitutional behavior in the POTUS doen't bother you.

Another reason this lefty propaganda rag's sales are in the toilet.

Posted by: Occam at January 16, 2012 9:20 AM

Self-parody was my first thought. Then I saw that Raggity Andy was the author. That's when I realized not self-parody, but rather it was unconscious self-parody.

Posted by: Mark L at January 16, 2012 9:27 AM

He said dumb, not stupid. Maybe he's surprised that the critics are not speaking up.

Posted by: WalterF at January 16, 2012 9:30 AM

Let's compare our grades to his then...

Posted by: SolidFPlus at January 16, 2012 9:31 AM

The Democrats truly honestly devoutly believe that they are vastly smarter than the Republicans, and they just can't figure out why the Republicans regularly kick their butts in elections. Must be the voters are dumb too.

Posted by: rabbit at January 16, 2012 10:10 AM

Ye gods. Just call it "Pravda" and have done with it.

Posted by: Ellie in T.O. at January 16, 2012 10:32 AM

Good comment about comparing grades, wonder why it is that no one is allowed to see the grades of "The One" what is being hidden from we members of the great unwashed.Could it be that Obama the Pied Piper of the left is actually dumber than Joe Biden?

Posted by: Frankemm at January 16, 2012 10:44 AM

Yes expecting the Presidanti to live within the US's means "We're" stupid, if you are a filthy rich elite that is.

Posted by: Rose at January 16, 2012 10:46 AM

Unleash the flying monkeys, you first Andrew! That magazine can't even start a good fire in a backyard fire pit.

There arent many. ANd they are all at the fluff level. He seems to care about his family a great deal, seems to be a good parent spending tie with his kids etc. He doesnt make the connection between his own behaviour there and what if anything he expects of others.

I still give him credit for the Osama decision. It doesnt rank with what the gryunts on the ground did but at the end of the day he would have worn the goat horns if that mission failed. However, he made a decision that any president should have made....maybe I am giving him credit based on my low expectations.

Oh and I wish I could have his golf handicap.

Trust me, I have a ton of complaints about his policies and much of his public behaviour/partisanship. But I dont hate the guy to the core. No Obama Derrangement for me.

Posted by: Steohen at January 16, 2012 11:03 AM

Mussolini's official photographer could not have done a better shot.

Posted by: gordinkneehill at January 16, 2012 11:04 AM

He said dumb, but he probably means, stupid. Does he not know the difference or is he illiterate?

What actual proof does he have that Obama's critics are stupid? What proof does he have that he and his master Obama are so smart.

Economic and social conditions in the USA have fallen dramatically since Obama took office.

Is that what makes him smart?

Silly me. Here I was thinking that it might be smart to cut the spending, but what do I know?

LOL. Somewhere else (Drudge?) this pic was very slow loading. For quite a few seconds, just the top of the grey nappy* head. I wuz speculating, 'prolly a historical story about an old slave'. However, to me he never seems to look worried which I take as prima facie evidence that he's pleased as punch over the evolving destruction of the republic, OR he's Chauncey Gardiner smart.

* I don't normally use words like this but for the hate-whitey Obamas it's apropos.

Posted by: Oz at January 16, 2012 11:50 AM

Oz - as were/are the testosterone injections he was/is giving himself as part of his treatment. He's written about it in some detail. I feel sorry for the man, but I can't take him seriously as an opinion-writing-guy; especially not after his epic Palin lunacy. (I have it on good authority that zombie Sigmund Freud got a brief rundown on Excitable Andy's personal life, read a few of his blog posts about Sarah Palin, and ran out of the room screaming.)

Posted by: Black Mamba at January 16, 2012 12:03 PM

Stephen, I hear you. Yes, the good stuff about Obama is fluff. E.g., He does dress well!

Re his family, here’s what the bible says (Matthew 7) about that: “Or what man of you, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a serpent? If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!” And, as a narcissist, which I believe Obama is, who knows how his girls are being affected? No parent is perfect, but a narcissist is a definite disadvantage.

Matthew goes on to say, “So whatever you wish that men would do to you, do so to them; for this is the law and the prophets.” Somehow, I don’t think Obama has “read, marked, learned, and inwardly digested” this lesson from the Rev. Wright.

I think Obama’s a complete disaster. If that means I’m “dumb”, so be it.

Posted by: Knight 99 at January 16, 2012 1:11 PM

Stephen and even you lookout....have been fooled.

Why does anyone give Maobama any credit for waxing OBL?

It was reported at the time...the "won" had to be fetched from the links to watch the thing go down.
Reports are that Valerie Jarrett tried to abort the mission but got over-ruled by the "real power".

The pics of the gathering watching in the situation room, indicate that Maobama was ALLOWED to watch but he was not in control...the sulky look on his face indicates just that...he did not occupy the "power seat". He gave every impression that in his mind he was the victim of a coup d'etate....

Sully is no more objective than Matthews and his tingly leg....

Posted by: sasquatch at January 16, 2012 1:27 PM

Will you look at that. Same stupid, contrived pose that El Duce used to strike.

Far as I'm concerned, Mussolini's best pose was his last one.

Posted by: Jamie MacMaster at January 16, 2012 2:05 PM

"....pose that El Duce used to strike."

Maybe, some would say it's the look down your nose at others pose.

I think he got distracted when he spotted some homeboy selling crack on his street corner in Chicago, now he's gots to go deal with it.

Posted by: Knight 99 at January 16, 2012 2:51 PM

Surfin' surfed this up. Is this the same Sullivan as cited above?

"2. Rob Crawford

Re Sullivan: Keep in mind that the Obama administration has “delivered” for him, in that they suppressed his prosecution on federal drug charges."

Posted by: Revnant Dream at January 16, 2012 3:38 PM

That picture on the front is the classic Alexander "hero shot"

Archetypal...handpicked.

He strikes that pose all the time with his Teleprompter reading.

Makes you look purposeful, far seeing etc.

All the rest, Il Duce, Napoleon etc borrowed from that shot. Classic movie pose as well in any Clint Eastwood Spaghetti Western.

When did he start wearing an American flag lapel pin?

Was it about the same time that Michelle first became proud of her country?

For a long time, I thought he owned only one suit. And finally he begins to show ties with some character. Too bad the rest of him shows none.

Judge A Man By The Content Of His Character And Not By The Colour Of His Skin - MLK

Obviously a comment like that would definitely make it sound like I'm some kind of "racist" because I'm opposed to the Obama regime and there outlandish leftist/marxist policies that are literally destroying the common working man rather than the latter.

If MLK was still alive today he would literally oppose the tyranny that is congress and the white house without a doubt and I'd be right behind him.
