Spring has sprung:

(Reuters) - The Muslim Brotherhood will control close to half the seats in the first Egyptian parliament elected since an uprising swept Hosni Mubarak from power last year, according to a projection posted by the group Friday…..The more hardline Nour Party, which advocates the strict application of Islamic law, has emerged with 113 seats, or 23 percent, putting Islamists of different stripes in control of more than two thirds of the chamber…"

Traffic ticket tip... Last month (DECEMBER 7) I got two traffic tickets, one for expired plates (guilty) and one for not having a current insurance slip (couldn't find it in the mess that is my truck!). The dates on the tickets were written up as NOVEMBER 7... an error of one month. I went to POINTTS and although they gave me no guarantee they were hopeful.

I just got the news... "Please be advised that due to an administrative error, the Court will no longer be proceeding with the charges against you. This means that there will be no conviction, fine or demerit points accumulated against you."

Perhaps this can help others who find themselves in a similar situation. This occured in Ontario.

For what it's worth!

Don't know if I missed this on SDA, but under the "World Needs More Canada" file, Brit columnist / blogger James Delingpole writes "O Canada our only hope":

"And the truth is that right now, of all the great Western nations Canada is probably the only one left still standing up for the values that made the West great. What better evidence of this could there be than the glorious news that Stephen Harper's Conservative administration has declared war on the anti-growth, anti-energy, hair-shirt eco-loons who are trying to destroy the Canadian economy?"

I don't use Twitter - very much by choice - but do understand the technology behind it. Friday evening though I couldn't resist following the Twitter feed of #LPC12, which I provided a link for in the Liberals Road to Renewal posting.

It was beyond fascinating to read all that was coming out of that convention. However, most of it was chalk full of immediate emotional reaction rather than any wisdom ... much like any other thinking of the Left! :-)

If you click on the "Continue reading ..." link you'll see a bunch of hilarious photos & Twitter screen captures I was able to get.

"A Eurozone Horror Show for Friday 13th

If French President Nicolas Sarkozy wasn’t the superstitious type before Friday, he surely is now after ratings agency Standard and Poor’s stripped France of its AAA credit rating.

Austria also lost its AAA rating, while several other eurozone countries for whom AAA status is a distant memory, including Italy and Spain, were further downgraded. The announcement reflects continued skepticism by financial markets that Europe is serious about tackling its debt crisis, or capable of doing so.

As if that news wasn’t bad enough, talks between Greece and its creditors broke down Thursday, raising the possibility that the next round of bailout cash for the country will be withheld, and increasing the likelihood of a “hard” Greek default which could spark a new banking crisis.

The rash of downgrades also further dents the fragile credibility of the European bailout fund, which depends on several of the affected countries, notably France, for funding. Announcing the downgrades, S&P said: “Today’s rating actions are primarily driven by our assessment that the policy initiatives that have been taken by European policymakers in recent weeks may be insufficient to fully address ongoing systemic stresses in the eurozone.”

The downgrade of France is especially significant because it finally puts paid to the myth of France leading Europe as an equal partner with Germany — France is now well on its way to becoming just another euro basket-case."

They are sent to deserts and other uninhabitable places with stinging insects, maddening heat and sanitary conditions the Left would be screaming was child abuse. They forge a bond with each other few peacetime friendships can ever hope to equal. They have to. It’s the only way to get through. And some of them, if not more, see that bonded friend killed or mutilated as only war can do it."

More pro-Liberal/anti-Conservative crap from one of the Librano$ most ardent toadies, Jeffrey Simpson:

"Of course, the Harper Conservatives will try to remind people of Mr. Rae’s time as premier and paint it with the blackest of colours [and why not? Rae was/is an incompetent leader -- and years later, I still haven't been able to find a competent doctor thanks to his 'we-have-too-many-doctors-in-Ontario' policies, to name just one of his screwups]. That’s how the Conservatives do politics: Tear down opposition leaders [LOL! Remember "Stephen Harper ... wants to increase military presence in our cities. Canadian cities. Soldiers with guns. In our cities. In Canada," Mr. Simpson?] The Conservative campaign against Mr. Rae has already begun. It will continue through the next election because, barring unexpected developments, Mr. Rae will lead the Liberals in that campaign."

http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/opinions/jeffrey-simpson/the-last-man-standing-will-be-bob-rae/article2302152/

As we all know, according to Simpson, the only villains are Conservatives. The Librano$ can use exactly the same tactics, tearing down the CPC leaders, reminding the electorate of CPC policies, but that's OK. In fact, it's de rigeur. But, the CPC had better not try it, otherwise they're ee-vil.

Jeffrey Simpson = Useful Idiot.

What is the story? It's OK to shoot (repeatedly) and kill the enemy soldier ample times, hell, blow him apart to shreds with whatever kind of anti-personnel device, just doesn't matter.

Killing is fine.

But OMG, he pissed on them, how evil, terrible, and what a lack of respect! What rot. In a war theatre, you hate your enemy, its not a game of polo where you shake hands afterward. Effin leftists and their accompliss' in the MSM.

Now, if they had Dahmered them after the fact, ok, fine, howl like hyenas, but as my friends in the sewer dept used to say, "It's sterile"

Note the term "middle-class". A Marxist term.

"Ireland at the end of the road"

"As Ireland's runaway boom years have given way to one of the steepest slumps of a developed country since the Second World War, the lives of middle-class professionals have been devastated by the crash"

"The opulent Great Room in Dublin’s historic Shelbourne Hotel is a venue more readily associated with trade conferences and society weddings. On this crisp winter morning, though, it is standing room only for an event billed somewhat histrionically as ‘the largest property auction in Irish history’. Attended by up to 1,600 people over the course of a six-hour session, the sale is a joint venture by the auction house Allsop and the Dublin property agency Space. On offer are 108 lots, from a three-bedroom semi-detached house in Co Donegal priced at only €21,000 (£17,500) to two adjacent restaurant premises in the smart Dublin suburb of Ballsbridge with a reserve of €485,000. The majority of these properties are ‘distressed’ – part of commercial developments in receivership or private houses ‘surrendered’ to banks after their owners fell into arrears.

‘Now these always go well, and we know you like them,’ the auctioneer, Gary Murphy, says,".

Great videos on the political system. They make great points about the Electoral College, but I would need to examine the evidence more closely before rejecting it. There is some misrepresentation in the video and issues of state sovereignty to keeping the College. But it's the strongest evidence I've seen for a popular vote.

'Just voted, Zog.

So, how come 61% of voters say it's OK to have Muslim prayers in schools when it's against the law in Ontario and when no Christian priest or minister is allowed to pray with students in a public school, and only 39% say no, it's not acceptable?

My conclusion? It's the invasion of the brain snatchers -- or the mostly brain-dead people who watch CityTV. (Seeing as Moses Znaimer, a Jew, owns CityTV, he should be a little worried by Torontonians largesse towards Islam in the TDSB. OTOH, seeing as he started his broadcast career at the CBC, it looks like he might have imbibed a little too much of their Leftard Kool-Aid to recognize the anti-Jewish, Shari'a threat.)
