One to pass along to your kids and grandkids.

Thanks Kate. The transfer of the blame for the racism of the south from the Democrats to the Republicans is an important story. I know better but unfortunately most do not.

But we need to keep smiling so I offer Steyn.

If you mention the fact that the Democrats were the Jim Crow party, the lefties just say "southern strategy"! And then they reckon they've won.

Posted by: Black Mamba at January 13, 2012 7:13 PM

Well they have won Mr. Mamba- and that is the problem. We need to fight back. Harper is the most successful conservative politician in the western world because he recognizes this. Challenge the enemy and you force them to defend. When they defend, they expose their weak positions. We all need to do more of this.

Thank God for PMSH. I hope I can type those four letters for many more years.

Thanks Kate...perfect summary, and info for the Republican and Democrats in my family. This is a classic.

Excellent presentation. So true as well.

K.K.K.
I thought you had be a right-wing, racist homophobe to belong?
Good video.

"Excellent presentation"

No kidding. Bloody Brilliant.

Posted by: RCGZ at January 13, 2012 9:46 PM

Thanks Kate. This was a very concise and clear education showing the difference between socialism and freedom.

Excellent summary. However, the average "progressive Liberal" wouldn't let such facts get in the way of an effective narrative.

We are living in Orwellian times.

How dare you use history and facts?! That's racist!

Posted by: Osumashi Kinyobe at January 14, 2012 12:25 AM

Osumashi - and that answers Black Mamba's point: it takes a lot of ignorance of history to support "progressive" movements.

Some inaccuracies such as the sanitized view of the war of Northern aggression started by Lincoln. Freeing the Southern slaves only became a policy near the end of the war but the impetus for the Confederacy to leave was the crippling duties on imports imposed by Lincoln to favor Northern manufacturers. The war of Northern aggression was a repudiation of states rights laid out in the US Constitution.

Obviously the democRATS have carried out a good propaganda campaign as, despite their several century history of racism, 95% of US blacks vote for them.

Posted by: Loki at January 14, 2012 1:31 AM

Ah yes. The left. Distort, obfuscate and blame others for their weaknesses.

Can we say "Hitler" yet or does that well-placed law of the left still apply?

I wonder if someone took the time to check on any Republicans as being RINO-type or Teddy Roosevelt progressive?

Posted by: Curious at January 14, 2012 7:22 AM

@Loki - "Freeing the Southern slaves only became a policy near the end of the war" - huh? The Emancipation Proclamation was issued on January 1, 1863. The war wasn't even half over then; it still had well over two years to run.

And how exactly did Lincoln's "crippling duties" force states to leave the Union when they'd already left when he became president?

You can't hide from history. No matter how deep you try to bury it, there it lies; waiting for someone to dig it up an expose the truth to the light of day.
The trouble is getting people to observe the facts of history over the belief of their programming.

When the leftist programmers got control of the school boards and schools it was game over for
the truth.

Ding-ding-ding-ding-ding!

Spot on.

Posted by: iurockhead at January 15, 2012 1:32 PM

Nice presentation but it is all bullshit today. The Democrats are tax and spend the Republicans are borrow and spend. They are both for bigger and bigger government and less freedom. The choice between the two parties is a false one. They are the same now.

Crippling duties? Man, I just hate 'em. Fortunately, I've crippled enough people to make my quota for the day and I can knock off...
