The Children Are Our Future

That's why I'm getting a bigger stick:

Posted by Cjunk at November 1, 2011 1:47 AM

These people are crazy to think that what they are doing has any importance beyond their own individual self aggrandizement.
Legends in their own minds they are.

Posted by: Oz at November 1, 2011 2:08 AM

Reminds me of "The Lord of the Flies" movie. If left alone in their own "community" without rules being enforced, they will be no better off.

Wonder what will happen when it gets really cold .... will they insist that the city provide a place for them to warm up in? The very society that they despise, they want help from .... do these people know what they are doing?

Posted by: Clown Party at November 1, 2011 2:49 AM

So that's not just any stick. That's a TALKING STICK. These guys are sooooo cool.

Posted by: Boots at November 1, 2011 3:05 AM

Kate, methinks the fundamental problems as demonstrated here and any possible FIX will need more than a bigger stick.

In fact.

We're DOOOMED !!!

Posted by: DAVYYZ at November 1, 2011 3:08 AM

Family circle?

That's exactly what this isn't.

If these guys had been brought up in a genuine family circle, they wouldn't be camping out, anarchy style, on public property demanding the creation of La-La Land and that we all capitulate to their demands.

What babies. Bad babies.

Posted by: batb at November 1, 2011 7:26 AM

It has finally dawned on some of them why laws were developed. That's a step in the right direction.

I dunno, what do you wanna do?

They'd rather hide the criminal element than deal with it, yep true blue liberals.

Posted by: Rose at November 1, 2011 9:19 AM

I could only watch about 2 minutes - how can there be sexual harrassment - the women are all dogs - and I say that as a woman. Yes I know rape is not about sex but about power, but even so - isn't it too cold to do anything. Anyway, I have to go to work now.

Sesame Street meets the real world. To quote John Wayne. "Life Is Tough! It Is Tougher When You Are Stupid".

Posted by: RFB at November 1, 2011 9:34 AM

Here's what they have figured out:

Some members of the community jave not been acting properly. They have been violating the rights of others. Rights need to be enforced.

I fully support that concept. But they really could have figured that one out in grade 6, with some play acting scenarios during civics class.

They are too old for the jedi training.

Posted by: Eagle at November 1, 2011 9:40 AM

contaminated vomit?

Is there any other kind?

Posted by: Eskimo at November 1, 2011 9:41 AM

Pathetic bunch not realizing any meaningful purpose in life.

Posted by: Ken (Kulak) at November 1, 2011 10:04 AM

Sounds to me from viewing the tape that they want to start some 'cult' or another.

If they went to work they will soon find out what life is all about.

Posted by: Jen at November 1, 2011 10:05 AM

January... Hmmmmm. Remind me to check back with occupy Ottawa then. T-t-t-t-t-t-talk-ing-s-st-stick.

It warms my heart to see young radicals learning to censor early and often.

Posted by: rabbit at November 1, 2011 10:36 AM

The dude in the parka must have Teddy Roosevelt as his role model -- speak softly and carry a big stick.

Posted by: JMD at November 1, 2011 10:43 AM

Good thing someones not dropping off a truckload of guns and telling them to "go shoot rich people" , because I think they would do it.

Posted by: bob at November 1, 2011 10:52 AM

Heroine users in Confederation Park?

Say it isn't so!

Anyone who knows Ottawa at all knows that Confederation Park is an R&R area for the ByWard Market panhandlers and all the other rubbies, druggies and down-and-outs of various kinds.

That's because all the missions and shelters are located in a cluster around both the ByWard Market and this park.

If you're one of the local Ottawa street people, this is the centre of your universe. You spend your whole day between sleeping and eating at the mission, accosting the trendie folks in the bars of ByWard Market or outside the entrance to LCBO on Rideau and King Edward, then resting up on the benches of Confederation Park.

And all these lovely middle-class OWS idealists have chosen to camp down here, presenting the dregs of Ottawa society with an irresistible cornucopia of food, drink, drugs, money, possessions and young bodies.

Posted by: JJM at November 1, 2011 11:13 AM

Those familiar with communist ideology will recognize this "protest" as a communist idea. You will notice that there is no particular leader.
This communist idea rising from the "from each according to his means, to each according to his needs", where this is done kind of like automatic, you have to remember that communism is idealistic concept where things are done automatically because everybody knows their place. If by pure chance somebody missed their place, there is a education camp that would explain the concept. If that would be insufficient, then there would be certain camps that would make sure that you get it. Even if it kills you.

Once worked with a communist from El Salvador in a major big Canadian corporation. The guy went to communist school financed by the United Nations. He described these going on some 12-14 years ago. A very accurate prediction.

Posted by: Lev at November 1, 2011 11:15 AM

I loved the unintended metaphor of the clip going darker and darker as these twits lamented the actions of a few horny anarchists. Like the sun setting on a very bad idea.

Most of what these people are suffering is intense stupidity and lack of understanding of just about anything that is going on in the world today. Nor do they understand how blessed they are to be in Canada, mostly white, healthy and English speaking. That is still the recipe for individual success. There is no such thing as collective success ... there is only collective squabbling as we see in the clip. (and in collectivist Europe at this time)

Posted by: Abe Froman at November 1, 2011 11:17 AM

"Good thing someones not dropping off a truckload of guns and telling them to "go shoot rich people" , because I think they would do it."

Well they can start by shooting themselves because as these citizens of the world should know, compared to the rest of the world, they are the 1% rich, resource sucking pigs.

But ... they don't know that. They don't know anything, but party, party eh?

Posted by: Abe Froman at November 1, 2011 11:20 AM

Piggy has the conch...

Posted by: northbaytrapper at November 1, 2011 11:31 AM

Ah, nothing like watching a bunch of retards devolve into Lord of the Flies. They are all over 20 years old, yet know virtually nothing about humanity and society.

Posted by: the Champ at November 1, 2011 11:36 AM

HAHA, Glenn Beck is talking about this on his radio show today...

Posted by: Soccermom at November 1, 2011 11:43 AM

Talk about the inmates escaping from the loony bin!

This is why we pay police to carry state of the art batons, pepper spray and vicious German Sheppard’s. So why aren’t they using them? We pay good taxes and expect results when the opportunity presents itself!

Posted by: Knight 99 at November 1, 2011 11:49 AM

The disturbing aspect of this is that these 'occupiers' seem to care less for the victims of the assaults. They are more concerned with the optics of the situation and how it will affect their message. Somewhat chilling if they succeed in changing the world into their ideal utopea. What happens to those who don't bow to their gods?

Posted by: Nick at November 1, 2011 12:08 PM

This is so good.

Love it.

Posted by: jeff at November 1, 2011 12:17 PM

#1 why is the press still reporting on this thing like it's not just a bunch of loons on a comunist camping trip?

#2 If some guy grabbed my nut sack (other than CATSA/TSA) it would be the last thing he did

Posted by: james at November 1, 2011 12:19 PM

Nick is spot on. It's more important for several people there to cover up any atrocities than to help the victims of the same. Reminds me of the same problems that political parties and big companies regularly face.

Through all of this, Idealism is meeting Reality and the former isn't doing so well. In other words, these people are facing Adult Life for the first time in their lives.

Posted by: Robert W. (Vancouver) at November 1, 2011 12:21 PM

What is going on with our country when these idiots can take over a park and make the city an eyesore? The city of Regina spent millions this summer beautifying Victoria Park and look who is camping out there. I urge the city of Regina to do what it takes to remove these people but who has the b**** to do it. If we all made small or large groups and took over every section in a city what kind of place would we have. This whole thing is disgusting and now they are insulating their "tents" for winter. Give us all a break and get them all sent to jail for the winter.

Posted by: John at November 1, 2011 12:41 PM

I'm waiting to see how the "community" handles their first murder.
Will they bow down to a Police investigation or just run off the killer with their down twinkles?

Posted by: apachetears at November 1, 2011 1:03 PM

I couldn't help noticing in Robert's link how the gal being interviewed mentioned that she had been at the 'occupation' since its inception BUT had been gone for a week 'cause she was in the hospital'. WTF!...Talk about cerebral disconnect!

These young miscreants all have one thing in common...they are stupid.

A harsh assessment perhaps though glaringly true.

Our society needs to take a long hard look at just where it went wrong in that so many of tomorrow's societal contributors are basically brain dead.

I myself still maintain that too much technology makes for too much leisure time which in turn creates a need for even more technology to fill that never satisfied gap...that amongst other things.

On a final note; I believe one can chalk it down to the evolutionary process.

Posted by: old duffer at November 1, 2011 1:53 PM

Just thought I would let you all know that, as a young person, instead of occupying wall street I am occupying a job.

Posted by: James at November 1, 2011 2:51 PM

Rights come with responsibilities?
Who knew?

Posted by: Stan at November 1, 2011 4:47 PM

I thinks the kids are a bit perturbed because they have no Halloween candies. I guess they'll get some when they go back to their parent's basement for the night. Poor souls.

Posted by: Fiumara at November 1, 2011 5:14 PM

I haven't even bothered to go down and deride their sorry arses, they are sooo unimportant. They want free everything NOW, it's their right!

Well, sorry Billy.

Posted by: Robert of Ottawa at November 1, 2011 7:01 PM

The poor children seem to be under the impression that they are supposed to be able to accomplish some sort of positive social change by standing around in the park -talking-.

Somebody got paid to turn out x number of people for x number of days, to make it look like a "Grass Roots Movement" was occurring. These retards just don't get that -nobody- cares what they think. Not the media, not the organizers, not the spectators, nobody. All that was wanted was some noisy punks in a park. Job done.

Posted by: The Phantom at November 1, 2011 7:37 PM

I'm hoping(not holding my breath) that with all the clear real life examples being portrayed down at the various OWS camps, the participants will realize that their "day in the life of" is exactly what we everyday people have to deal with and manage. The only difference is, is that we are paying for their reenactment.

They have organized a government that is not easy to manage. A security system that is not easy to manage, and set up a society that has not been fought or bought for. Why? because we are people, and people need law and order. An ongoing process that will take till the end of time.

Their peril would be that they do not recognize the similarities between their camps and our countries(their countries).

Posted by: Knacker at November 1, 2011 8:59 PM

stupid idiots!!!!

Posted by: GYM at November 1, 2011 9:20 PM

Facinating. The "occupiers" are discovering that rules are based on how we want to interact with each other. The said interaction and the rules they want, seem to reflect some kind of social moral code.

Perhaps if they keep this up, they might even clue into why its important to not covet their neighbours ass.

Posted by: joseph at November 1, 2011 10:04 PM

I wonder if the Plymouth Colony went through this?

Posted by: joseph at November 1, 2011 10:09 PM

Posted by: ivbinconned at November 1, 2011 10:43 PM

Nope. They put folks like this in stocks in the Town square. Those passing by used rotten vegetables thrown at the idiots to emphasize their displeasure.
They got to occupy it for free. The food wasn't as good though.

Fast forward to 4:35. "He touched my buttocks and my penis area and I was so angry..." What a half-a-man.

btw Johanne don't believe that feminist tripe. Rape is definitely about sex. It's about weak men getting sex from unattainable women. The whole "power" myth was started by one woman, Susan Brownmiller, in the 70's and it became gospel for some reason.

Posted by: fozzy at November 2, 2011 5:40 AM

This is sad and pathetic nonsensical ranting. Yikes. Wouldn't it be more fun to chill out in your mom's basement while smoking a joint instead of standing there listening to this crap?
