In a stinging new column, Mark Steyn accurately describes the failed presidency that is Barack Obama's. Denial is more than just a river in Egypt, especially if you're a member of the Mainstream Media or a consumer of their spin & lies.
Posted by Robert at October 2, 2011 3:44 PMThat will pretty well sum up O's presidency.

O/T, Strange! No one in the television msm mentioned this:
Jean Chretien and Iraq: Yet more proof the Liberals stood for nothing
Matt Gurney May 16, 2011 – 2:06 PM ET
WikiLeaks has revealed more lies about the Iraq war, this time from the Canadian government. According to CBC News:
[E]ven as [former prime minister Jean] Chretien told the Commons that Canada wouldn’t participate in Operation Iraqi Freedom, Canadian diplomats were secretly telling their U.S. counterparts something entirely different. … According to the U.S. account, [Canadian diplomat] James Wright “emphasized” that contrary to public statements by the prime minister, Canadian naval and air forces could be “discreetly” put to use during the pending U.S.-led assault on Iraq and its aftermath.

Posted by: Jen at October 2, 2011 5:26 PMThe most urgent matter is getting him out of the WH. The most important matter is figuring out how he got there to begin with. Just look at the number of flat out brilliant people, in their own fields, who simply shut down their critical thinking when he came along. One place to look is in our schools. I don't have children that age, but when I talk with parents who do, I find the must amazing drivel is being taught. People need to take close looks. It will take at least a generation to undo the damage of the last two.
Posted by: Tregonsee at October 2, 2011 5:40 PMThe following excerpt reminds me of our last federal election. The media was sure that prorogation, the long form census, poo-pooing any talk of a coalition and various media-driven scandals would defeat the CPC. Ignatieff, the great academic, would either won outright or lead with the cooperation of the other left-wing parties. By the looks on the faces of the journalists on election night they seemed genuinely shocked at the complete decimation of the Liberals.
Who knew Canadians were more media savvy than Americans?
"To a fool such as your average talk-radio host, His Majesty appears to be a man of minimal accomplishments other than self-promotion marinated in a radical faculty-lounge view of the world and the role of government. But, to a wise man such as your average presidential historian or New York Times columnist, he is the smartest guy ever to become president.
In part, this is a natural extension of an ever more conformist and unrepresentative establishment's view of where "the center" is. On issues from abortion to climate change, a Times man or Hollywood activist or media professor's notion of "centrism" is well to the left of where American opinion is.
Posted by: LC Bennett at October 2, 2011 5:40 PMEver since the "One" was elected, I have said repeatedly in the comments on this and other blogs that Obama is the worst president ever. Each and every day he proves me right. Even the lefty trolls have pretty well given up trying to defend him. November will arrive in spite of Obama but can the damage he inflicted be reversed? We'll see.
Posted by: Brian Mallard at October 2, 2011 5:51 PMHe most certainly presided over a failed administration that engaged in criminal, unconstitutional subsidization of private banks, corporations and business. However this fact seems lost on his support base when we see him winning in polling between the GOP front running candidates.
It is one of histories harsh lessons that even screw ups like Hitler were elected by popular will.
Posted by: Occam at October 2, 2011 6:06 PMObama, Obama, Obama. That's what I keep hearing much of the time.
Gentlemen and Ladies. Please bear with me while I give a little background. King George established the monarchy. George Washington established the Presidency. George Soros abolished the Presidency.
Decision-making is now in the hands of the Politburo, which exists to protect the power and privilege of the American nomenklatura. They don't want us to focus on them so they have put up His Majesty, the Naked Emperor as the frontman everyone keeps quibbling about. Meanwhile the Politburo is busy expanding the state at the expense of individual liberty while laughing all the way to the Bank of America.

Well said and bleakly accurate. man.
The Yanks got what they deserved! And please PMSH.DO NOT let any American into our country.Only the lefties are left to come here. The one's with a brain and work ethic left long ago.
darn..its raining pixie dust Wa DC. Guess that will keep you warm. And is it legal to shoot unicorns???
Obama is just the USA s Pierre Turdeau, someone promoted by the leftwing media and supposedly so much smarter than everyone else.We all know what Pierre the great did to Canada and it has not been a pretty sight. We deal with that fools socialistic dreams every day.Now 40 years later the US has to bear the cross of Turdeaus equivilant, and who knows how much damage that hopeychangey fool can cause.
Posted by: Frankemm at October 2, 2011 8:26 PMSteyn nails it and Rizwan well said.
Occam "It is one of histories harsh lessons that even screw ups like Hitler were elected by popular will." Exactly. When people are hurt and fear the future they sometimes do extremely irrational things.
Posted by: Ken (Kulak) at October 2, 2011 8:42 PMI said that Obambam was the US version of PET (may he rot in hell) before he got elected.
Both arogant pampered clowns of no accomplishment thrust forward by morally and ethically bereft political parties with backing from extremely wealthy and influential descendants of rober barons.
Both hell bent on destroying the rights of the individual and undermining the societies that were built on the principal of defending those rights.
Know your enemy.
Posted by: OMMAG at October 2, 2011 9:49 PMCould we please stop referring to Obama's "failed presidency".
It's an extremely successful presidency by his terms of reference! It may yet fail, but up to now it's extremely successful.
Everytime you use the term "failed presidency" you cast him as an ordinary American president who loves his country and wants what's best for it. This is clearly not the case with this commie/fascist/islamist (take your pick) president. Carter's was arguably a failed presidency as was GWB's.
YES, well-said Rizwan.
Posted by: Me No Dhimmi at October 2, 2011 11:50 PMThe US should have long been out of recession but business has held off reinvesting until after next year's election. Socialist Obama offers nothing for business other than promises of tax increases. Trying to stimulate the economy by borrowing hasn't worked and the future cost of servicing debt will soon become a major drag.
Obama is a failure by his own deeds. He inherits a crumbling economy and instead of climbing in bed with business he starts on the path to his socialist nirvanah.
Posted by: Scar at October 3, 2011 1:47 AMLC, you are entirely right about the Canadian MSM. In fact it's one of the most enjoyable things for me in the past decade how Canadian voters have repeatedly rebuked the media by voting in entirely different directions. The first great media disappointment came with the failure of the Paul Martin ministry, a man whom the MSM had deemed equivalent to the Second Coming only to collapse in policy indecision. And it's been nothing but disaster for them ever since. Other than the May federal election, the same stunned "how can this happen" from the media came through strongly with Rob Ford's election.
Why do you think it is that the MSM derides the Tea Party movement as vigorously as the most die-hard socialists? Because these are their now disillusioned readers and listeners coming at them figuratively waving torches and pitchforks. The Tea Party is the only political movement that identifies the MSM as the enemy. The MSM long ago became as Steyn accurately describes court eunuchs, and the tax-paying public is now thoroughly fed up with the courtier politics of Cadillac Socialism.
And the MSM breathed a huge sigh of relief when Alison Redford won the Alberta Tory leadership. I'm already anticipating the howls of despair when Danielle Smith and the WRA wins the next Alberta provincial election.
