Tell us why should you be selected to be one of the 100-person team to work with Post reporters on the Palin emails?
Posted by Kate at June 9, 2011 4:42 PMI should be selected as I was one of the first to link to the Climategate emails, which of course, WaPo had no interest in whatsoever, despite the fact that they suggested fraud and collusion among researchers whose theories are responsible for public policy worth trillions of dollars worldwide.
Hypocrisy such as this is why we hold modern "journalism" in such deep and abiding contempt.
The New York Times is doing the same thing. (It's at Weasel Zippers.)
Posted by: andycanuck at June 9, 2011 4:49 PM100 people? Seriously?
How many people are analyzing the president's?
Posted by: Another Calgary Marc at June 9, 2011 4:50 PMwtf? wow, I thought this was an Onion style joke.
Posted by: ChrisinMB at June 9, 2011 4:53 PMGood for you (GFY) Kate and GFY to WaPo too!
Posted by: EyesWideShut at June 9, 2011 5:04 PMI can see why their circulation just keeps getting bigger and bigger and bigger.
Sort of the reverse of Field of Dreams, if you destroy it they will leave. WOW
Posted by: BDT at June 9, 2011 5:13 PMHypocrisy such as this *is* why we hold modern "journalism" in such deep and abiding contempt.
Posted by: Mike in Calgary at June 9, 2011 5:17 PMI CAN'T believe this!
These people are SO scared of Sarah Palin they intend to go over her every E-mail to fish for scandals!
Or maybe they just hate her that much.
Pathetic.
Posted by: dmorris at June 9, 2011 5:24 PMHey look, I found one:
"Sarah, if you're ever in New York, look me up, (Pres.) Bill Clinton."
Wonder what this could mean?
Posted by: Peter O'Donnell at June 9, 2011 5:28 PMI'll help them go over Illinois Senator Obama's e-mails if they're interested.
Posted by: Oz at June 9, 2011 5:29 PMMy guess that unlike going through Weiner's twitters, readers (Journalist slave labour) of these emails will probably uncover way more positive things about Palin than negative. You know this is all about finding dirt. Nothing else. Well we should be fighting fire with fire and start combing their emails. Weiner and the climate bozos have already shown it is pretty fertile ground.
Someone provide say Bob Rae's or Obambi's emails and I would be happy to go through them.
Posted by: wnmc at June 9, 2011 5:54 PMThis may backfire on the venerable WP

Notice the collaborators: msnbc, Pro Publica and Mother Jones. Yeah, like they aren't disinterested journolists!
Posted by: JRB at June 9, 2011 6:01 PMWell done, Kate!
As a dual citizen paying (high) taxes in BOTH countries, I sure wish the WaPorGray Lady would allow ME to assist in their coverage of Prez Oblahblah.
Posted by: Davers6 at June 9, 2011 6:30 PMBe fair, 20 will explain the big words to the rest so they have a clue. Don't ask them what percentage that is though.

Posted by: Edward Teach at June 9, 2011 6:41 PMWhen the NY Slimes, and the Wash('dUp) Post decide to to some 'Open Sourcing'?
.
This is definitely: 'Not Waiting for the Asteroid'!
.
Right on time.
Anne Coulter would like to thank The NY Times and the WAPO collusion efforts to form their timely mob.

Posted by: richfisher at June 9, 2011 7:10 PMJust a note about the Cheap shot CBC took on Palin
with the Opening intro to Game 3 of the Stanley
Cup in Boston.... "The British are Coming"...(Paul Revere) CBC are one sick bunch of stinking turds...
They havent learned yet that the more they obcess over this Lady the bigger she becomes. Mean while they allow Obama & his Czars who really affect Americans a cake walk.
Its amazing really. Stupid can't even compete as a slur with this crowd. They still think her daughters kid is hers.
I mean how insane is that?
That their this riled over an ex Politician speaks of an irelevancy not seen since the moon was libaled as cheese. Most of the comentators except gays & the usual libtards are disgusted , proves this.
JMO
..... Doc Holliday: My hypocrisy goes only so far.It appears the WAPO/NYT/ hypocrisy knows no bounds.
Posted by: bruce wayne riley at June 9, 2011 7:57 PMThis sounds like something that would go on during a high school campaign for class president.
Journos- they never grow old...
With 24,000 E mails to go thru, you dont suppose that they will find things that arent in them do you? Like George Bush quotes as an example.
Posted by: spike 1 at June 9, 2011 7:58 PMIf they can get a couple dozen 9/11 'truthers' to check out the e-mails,they will be able to prove anything they want.
Posted by: wallyj at June 9, 2011 8:12 PM
Thanks Mike, fixed.
Oh pick me... Thought I heard about this in the bathroom at middle school in between drags on a smoke. Maybe not...
Posted by: orlin at June 9, 2011 8:47 PMA list of some of Obama's Gaffs. Could you imagine if George Bush did the same thing
Obama says america invented automobile, when it was invented in Germany.
Says "Brownville" not Brownsville, at the University of Texas, Brownsville
Obama reads Irish Prime Ministers text and thanks himself
Says Austrian is a language
Says "profit and earnings ratio", not "price to earnings ratio"
Mistakes french windows at Whitehouse for doors
To his daughter, in front of large crowd, while on speaker phone, says hes in Kansas City when he's in St. Louis
confuses Sandford and Son with The Jeffersons
calls Sunrise, florida, sunshine.
Calls Sioux Falls Sioux City
Says an entire town destroyed in Kansas and 11000 had died when it was only 11 that had died.
He mistakenly calls himself a muslim - the reporter doing the interviewer has to correct him.
It reminds me of Little Black Sambo, where the lions who want to tear him apart, end up chasing one another's tails, and eventually melt into butter.
Little Black Sambo has Big Black Mumbo make a stack of pancakes to have with the butter -- and eats them all up!
Methinks Palin's going to be digging into a stack of pancakes with lots of melted butter and some good ol' Alaska maple syrup.
Sweet!
Posted by: batb at June 10, 2011 6:41 AMWhoops! Tigers.
Posted by: batb at June 10, 2011 6:42 AMThe Washington Post has adopted the Huffington Post's business model; have drones work for free then sell the results.
Lilliputians trying to tie Gulliver down.
Posted by: Blair at June 10, 2011 9:30 AMHarry, when in Ottawa, on teleprompter, Zer0 said he was glad to be in "Iow . . . Ottawa." And there was the "I've visited nearly all 57 states." One can only imagine what disasters would be found in his emails. The MSM would probably try the "He was hacked' routine. Speaking of hacks: that describes both Zer0 and the MSM quite nicely. No wonder Sarah Palin terrifies them.
Posted by: lookout at June 10, 2011 9:58 AMThe left's elitist strategy seems to be a variant of what was tried against Margaret Thatcher by Labour.
The idea begins with a campaign to wedge the "she's not our kind of people", squishy RINO east coast
wealthy, "we always get patronage" oriented moneybags, away from supporting an uncouth commoner
like Palin while at the same time enhancing her populist appeal to ordinary hinterland conservatives.
In the end they hope to see her running for office, overshadowing everyone else for the Republican
nomination, but deprived of the funds necessary to wage an effective campaign.
When the time came, within and without the party, Thatcher smashed her opposition. It would be great
to see Sarah Palin do the same - including once again smash those Republicans and Democrats and their
hangers on in Alaska and the lower 48 who were always ready to put their own selfish interests ahead of
protecting the rights and property of the ordinary people of the USA.
Perhaps the RINOs would be better advised to rethink if a few cutting remarks at the country club from
their Democratic peers would be more painful compared to President Palin elected without their help.
