Election 2011: Suspected John

Updated with video. 787 Dundas St. W, today (red sign). Sun News: Suspected bawdy house raided in Project Cobra

"Jack" is short for "john", isn't it?

'96 police report, breaking now on SunTV. Short form: Jack Layton was found naked in the company of a woman, getting a "shiatsu massage" during a police raid. No charges laid. Getting further analysis now from Sun's expert adulterer.

Update - print story up now.

Apparently, the campaign decided the first response was best delivered by Olivia Chow. Now, that's Prime Ministerial.

Uh oh. Urban Dictionary Update.

Huh?!

Posted by: Bart F. at April 29, 2011 8:37 PM

You're fast, Kate. I literally just emailed this to you a minute ago as soon as I heard it on Sun TV News too. (Thank heavens the Jays just had their third out so I clicked back to Adler's show.)

BTW, was Al Gore in town at the time?

Posted by: andycanuck at April 29, 2011 8:40 PM

Maybe this election will have a happy ending after all?

Posted by: andycanuck at April 29, 2011 8:41 PM

Jack! off to the races?
Guess we don't know Jack!?
Jack! the Dripper?
Johnny come lately?
i'm too gobsmacked to go on...

Posted by: Glenn at April 29, 2011 8:42 PM

Suddenly while the host and the Toronto sun reporter were talking about Jack's escapade the Sun News channel went blank.

Posted by: Ken (Kulak) at April 29, 2011 8:43 PM

Unreal - We were watching this on Sun TV, about 5 minutes in, and the station disappeared!!!

I'm calling Shaw (we're in Ottawa) now, but my friend who gets Sun TV free from HDTV antenna says it's still on the air...

Posted by: Martin Pearl at April 29, 2011 8:44 PM

I'm capping it right now.

Posted by: Mississauga Matt at April 29, 2011 8:46 PM

This sort of thing rubs me the wrong way.

Posted by: Peter O'Donnell at April 29, 2011 8:49 PM

I see now I'm not the only one with a blank screen.

hmm, just came back onair as I hit post.

Posted by: ChrisinMB at April 29, 2011 8:49 PM

Yikes. I need to mark this date. This might be the only time in history that Jack doesn't want to have his mug displayed on the TV screens.

Posted by: Jan at April 29, 2011 8:49 PM

Nice timing. Rub and tug for Jack. How old was the girl?

Posted by: $ FKA gord at April 29, 2011 8:49 PM

Shaw back on air!

Posted by: Angry at April 29, 2011 8:50 PM

Beauty.

Posted by: mj at April 29, 2011 8:51 PM

so why does Warren look so sad?

Posted by: ChrisinMB at April 29, 2011 8:51 PM

Still showing here in Halifax.

Sun News I mean, not Jack.

Posted by: AtlanticJim at April 29, 2011 8:52 PM

It is back on now and Warren Kinsella is being asked about it.

Posted by: Ken (Kulak) at April 29, 2011 8:52 PM

Wouldn't it be something if Jackoff had his big moment jerked out from under him???

Posted by: Rick in MB at April 29, 2011 8:52 PM

It's back, all of a sudden, no explanation tho...

Guess we know why the song "Happy Jack" was so apropos!

Posted by: Martin Pearl at April 29, 2011 8:53 PM

OK...I get the jist of it...but details please.

Posted by: johnboy at April 29, 2011 8:53 PM

And it was a private, for profit rub and tug!

Posted by: Mississauga Matt at April 29, 2011 8:57 PM

At least he didn't go to the US for it.

Posted by: ChrisinMB at April 29, 2011 8:58 PM

Still nothing on Global, what about the other channels? Of course one doesn't want to seem to revel in another man's shame.

Posted by: larben at April 29, 2011 8:58 PM

Iggy for one welcomes our Shiatsu overlords; Gesundheit.

Posted by: Bernie at April 29, 2011 8:59 PM

back in '96? How was it kept quiet for so long?

Posted by: ChrisinMB at April 29, 2011 9:00 PM

Apparently NDP stands for Not Done Partying.

Posted by: Peter O'Donnell at April 29, 2011 9:00 PM

That's interesting - Sun TV on Rogers in T.O. is about 10 minutes behind. Combover boy just came on.

Posted by: Mississauga Matt at April 29, 2011 9:00 PM

Was just saying that if they can have Kinsella in for an interview, they can hardly be blamed for being biased. Apparently, he writes for one of the Sun's papers.

Posted by: larben at April 29, 2011 9:01 PM

This is quite the Federal Erection issue!!!

Posted by: Martin Pearl at April 29, 2011 9:02 PM

Posted by: Glenn at April 29, 2011 9:04 PM

Talk of NDP election win just another case of premature Jack Layton.

Posted by: Kathy Shaidle at April 29, 2011 9:05 PM

Oh I'm using that one, Kathy!

Posted by: Mississauga Matt at April 29, 2011 9:06 PM

how will it affect his poling?

Posted by: Glenn at April 29, 2011 9:07 PM

Won't this firm up his support with swing voters?

Posted by: Peter O'Donnell at April 29, 2011 9:07 PM

Will support for Taliban Jack go soft?

Posted by: Bernie at April 29, 2011 9:08 PM

Mpearl takes it!

Posted by: Indiana Homez at April 29, 2011 9:08 PM

During that same era I was walking back from a party and stopped on a street corner near Layton's office to wait for the light to change. Jack was standing there with one of his aides. (Oh, and there was also three guys passing around a bottle of whiskey, but they don't matter in this.)
It was pretty late so I figured jack must have been burning the proverbial midnight oil.
I suppose oil may have been involved.

Posted by: whit seven at April 29, 2011 9:10 PM

That said, it took a long time for that story to blow!

Posted by: Indiana Homez at April 29, 2011 9:10 PM

Can we expect more such revelations this weekend?
What else might be in the bag of tricks?
Jack-off will be doing a quick re-examination of past 'boners'.

Posted by: Snagglepuss at April 29, 2011 9:11 PM

wow, there's just too many puns to be made of this. This will be a very long comments thread.

Posted by: ChrisinMB at April 29, 2011 9:12 PM

Jack wasn't nimble and Jack wasn't quick Jack got caught with his hand on his stick As the mess was cleaned up by the Toronto police Jack yelled, it's not me, but pass me a wipe!

Posted by: Glenn at April 29, 2011 9:13 PM

Snagglepuss, he's got political boners galore. I'm astonished that they have been so little publicized.

Posted by: Jan at April 29, 2011 9:13 PM

Come on now don't be so hard on the guy. Taliban Jack felt stiff and sought relief in a massage. I'm sure this is common behavior among champagne socialists. His excuse will likely be that he was there undercover checking out the daycare facilities available for the women.

Posted by: loki at April 29, 2011 9:13 PM

This is, I think the biggest scandal since the Francis Fox affair, when he was found forging his girlfriend's husband's name on a document for approval of an abortion, as it was in the old days when the father had a say on whether or not his child should die. To my mind, this was far,far worse. That said, most NDPers are moral castrates in these matters, and he is liable to pick up votes from idiots who think that he is being "judged" by others.

Posted by: larben at April 29, 2011 9:14 PM

Come, come, folks. We're bigger than going for these low-blow puns.

Posted by: andycanuck at April 29, 2011 9:14 PM

I didn't see this, but people need to exercise caution here.

If this ends up being fake, he will benefit from this type of story.

Jack was doing real good with the women voters, no?

Posted by: old Lori at April 29, 2011 9:14 PM

Jack's always struck me as a little "off," could never explain it. His relationship with Olivia also seems a little weird, and I've often wondered if it's some kind of beard ...

That Layton, as a Toronto councillor who was sticking up (pardon the pun) for the rights of women exploited by bawdy houses, apparently "didn't know" that the place in which he was having a shiatsu massage was, in fact, a bawdy house is, of course, beyond credible.

So, Olivia is supporting Jack? I wonder what her possible connection with the "massage parlour" is? She has extensive connections with the Chinese community in Toronto and, sometimes, it might be worth asking, how extensive?

Posted by: batb at April 29, 2011 9:14 PM

So how big was it?

Posted by: safety forced at April 29, 2011 9:14 PM

Well knowing what a shiatsu massage really is makes me believe that the excuse given to the police by eJackoLayton is a load of shiatsu that spread properly on a quarter section of land would yield a bumper crop!

Oh this is the way you rub and tug, rub and tug, rub and tug. This is the way you rub and tug so early in the election.

While it's true that this doesn't look good for Layton I think it looks even worse for Sun TV. Why do I suddenly feel so dirty?

Posted by: NeilD at April 29, 2011 9:16 PM

This whole story stinks. But Catsmeat says it's true?

I don't think this is going to change a thing: people who like him are going to vote for him anyway, although Quebeckers will probably scratch their heads and wonder why there was no ciggy and snifter of brandy involved.

Expect the Sun's competitors to criticize them for daring to go with the story.

Posted by: Mississauga Matt at April 29, 2011 9:33 PM

I feel bad for the guy. He's out having a couple drinks. Feels a little melancholy. A little nostalgic perhaps. He goes back to the place where he met Olivia. He gets to hear those magic words again. "Hey Joe. Me love you long time".

Of course Olivia should make the first statement, she is the only one whose business this is. Besides, any appearance by Jack at this time will only create unwelcome mental images of him engaged in various acts. Who wants that rolling in their brain?

Because there was no Sun News Network.

I'll bet Lloyd and Peter have known about this for a long, long time, and just kept it under wraps.

As I said in an earlier post, there's something off, weird, not quite right, about Jack. I've never been able to put my finger on it (good thing, too) but I'm thinking we're about to find out about what makes Jack ... tick.

Posted by: batb at April 29, 2011 9:51 PM

Perhaps but until then the Big Media will report on the much bigger more important stories that Canadians feel affect their lives. Like the Longest Wedding Ever.

So in the early 2000's Clinton and Bush 41 wound up in the same barber shop getting shaves at the same time. The barbers were speechless, not wanting to say anything at all because they didn't want the two to start arguing. After Clinton was done, his barber asked him "Would you like some aftershave on that Mr. President?" and Clinton asked to smell it. One sniff later, Clinton burst out "Oh Gawd no, that smells like a whorehouse. Hillary would kill me!". At just that moment Bush's shave finished. His barber asked him "Would you like some aftershave on that Mr. President?". Without missing a beat, Bush responded "sure, neither Barbara nor I know what a whorehouse smells like."

Loosely related: Media, Shaw off air.

This is will sound parnoid but my pre-set recording of the Beck series of shows, keeps getting wiped (for those not familiar with PVR, you can set the digital recorder to record all of a series -- say all the Beck shows). Was talking with a good friend, a fellow Beck fan, and he's had the same problem. And he confirms that this pre-set series deletion happens on no other show, only Beck. I strongly suspect people at Shaw, who can look into the digital cable box, are fooking with my scheduled series recordings.

Posted by: altaguy at April 29, 2011 10:15 PM

By not issuing his own statement on the matter - by relying on his wife's and his lawyer's and Kathleen Monk's statements instead - Layton is acting more like a suspect than a leader.

He's going to have to address the issue sooner rather than later, but his choice of language in doing so is going to be problematic. It's a given that he'll say it's all a dirty-tactic smear, and he'll bring up the timing of it, but at some point he will have to address the specifics of the allegation by either denying that he knew it was a suspected bawdy house connected to organized Asian crime (which would be tantamount to admitting that it was) or he'll have to say that it wasn't that kind establishment." The first statement sounds implausible, while the latter would invite constantly-updated "fact-checking" about the establishment - including photos, background stories on organized Asian crime, and forced prostitution, and immigration abuse, etc., etc., -- in the news cycle.

On the most important issue - the election - it will be interesting to see whether this is the sort of thing that will greatly offend left-leaning voters, including left-leaning Quebecers. I suspect not.

Here are my predictions: the usual suspects in the left/prog MSM will redirect this story into an attack on Sun TV News; we will hear and read accusations of American-style "dirty politics" and suggestions that this is all about the Harper "regime."

Just saw the latest report from the campaign trail (I think in Courtnay) and he is talking about a "smear campaign". and though the colour on today's T.V. is very true to life, there appears to be no blush on his face. The least they could have done is put some rouge on his cheeks.

Rosemary Barton from CBC said they will do their own investigation on this story. The National didn't have it on...no room...it was all taken up with Harper bashing and showing NFLD...ABC and Mildewski smearing the PM.

Guess this is why Jack-off voted against pedefiles(SP) sexually involved with minors, sentencing. Could be why he didn't like the budget...the crime bills??

This story could of been handed to the Sun by Liberals too...they are experts at digging...

Hillary came to the rescue of Slick Willie, and Olivia has torn a leaf out of the same book for Jack.

The problem is that the only time the amoral left shows moral indignation is when conservatives are caught with their pants down/with their clothes off.

This would only hurt Harper. It won't hurt a lefty like Layton. The old media will circle the wagons.

Posted by: Frank Q. at April 29, 2011 10:49 PM

I think you're right EBD. (Here are my predictions: the usual suspects in the left/prog MSM will redirect this story into an attack on Sun TV News; we will hear and read accusations of American-style "dirty politics" and suggestions that this is all about the Harper "regime.") I think it will backfire and should just be left alone. Those striving to make a story about it will be represented as petty and puritanical. The timing is suspect. Jack is rising in the polls (it's hard to avoid using certain words isn't it?) and we have to go all the way back to 1996 to find some dirt?

I don't care. I thought he was sleazy before and this story doesn't worsen my opinion. To those who are playing around with voting for him, for whatever incomprehensible reason, are unlikely to be swayed by this either. Consequently, I think that those pushing the story are more likely to cause damage to the Conservatives than to the NDP.

I suspect that in this country, we have reached the tipping point where more people feed out of the public trough than those who don't or can't. Hence, the weight of self-interest is shifting the tide against the responsible, hard-working citizen.

He's going to legalize prostitution AND pot, and tax them as much as he can. He figures he can balance his budget based on all the new US tourism dollars..

Posted by: KevinB at April 29, 2011 11:21 PM

The true leftista will laugh this off as Jack being jack. But a lot of moderate liberals who convinced pollsters that Jack was the real deal may think twice. All this story needs to do is lower NDP support by a percentage or two to have a real impact. Mission accomplished!

And if the lamestream try to turn this into a SunNews story, well Palideau will owe Ailes big-time.

Posted by: john h at April 29, 2011 11:22 PM

While many on the left and even on the right regard prostitution as a victimless crime, many feminist leftists regard prostitutes as victims and their "johns" as victimizers. Now that one of their own has been found financially supporting prostitution, I don't think this will go over very well with the feminist component of the NDP.

Well CTV ran a thorough story on this just 5 minutes ago.

Robertson: 'Robert, there's a 'story out there' that NDP leader Jack Layton was mentioned in a police officer memorandum. What can you tell us about this?

Fife: Lloyd, Sun Media is saying that Jack Layton was found at a massage parlour 16 years ago. He was unaware that alleged illicit activities took place there, and his wife Olivia knew about the incident and stated nothing wrong had happened.'

Robertson: 'Alright, well moving on then Bob, ....'

How utterly stupid do they think we are?

Posted by: Luke at April 29, 2011 11:26 PM

There are more questions that need to be asked here other than "Jack, why were you naked as a jaybird"?

It would be interesting to know if anyone was charged that night. If so, who and why? And if there were charges, why did Layton NOT get charged? Political interference? More digging by the press is required.

So Jack Layton admitted to it. He was caught naked in a Chinese massage parlour during a police raid. He wasn't caught doing anything illegal, and was let go. No crime was committed, but it's still a very sleazy thing for a so-called 'respectable' politician to do.

Why is Sun TV News being blamed? They didn't get naked massages from a young Chinese girl while married.

Since every paycheque Jack has ever collected has come from the public purse could this little episode called "Pulled Pork"?

On a slightly different note I can understand why the cops kept a lid on this at the time. EJackolayton was a cop bashing city councilor at the time of his 'exposure'. Had the cops brought the matter to the public attention at the time it would have appeared that the cops were targeting Ejackolayton in order to silence the crusading social activist.

The question that comes to my mind is how often did Jack avail himself of such services? The chances of getting caught the only time there is pretty minimal.

New article up in the Toronto Sun:

"What Jos Chiu remembers most is the sign. A long, red, illuminated sign with big white letters: MASSAGE. The sign was for years vertically attached to number 787 Dundas St. W.

"It was a massage parlour, but no ordinary massage parlour.

"It was the kind suspected by police as one of the many in the city where women were offering the 'extra service' of masturbation -- a place known on the street as a rub-and-tug...."

(...)

"'It was a big vertical sign on the side of the building,' said Chiu, who has owned and operated a custom T-shirt shop across the street for over 20 years.

"'It was a Chinese bookstore for a while downstairs, but upstairs it was a mystery..."

The whole thing here.

Actual article headline:

With no actual denial in the article. If anything, they're confirming it:

Sid (For anyone who is going to say this is just slime reporting, just tell me one thing:

What would be happening right now if this was Stephen Harper ?)

I totally agree there is a double standard, but not to take it into account means that any attempt to use the story to discredit Mr. Layton will backfire. If anything, it has generated more sympathy for Jack. An iffy encounter way back in 1996? If that's the best anyone can come up with, it's pretty lame.

And yes I know. If it had been Stephen Harper, the media would absolutely crucify him. But it's about Jack, and that makes all the difference.

Right now, everyone is enjoying the jokes and puns, and some of them are very clever. But actually it's reflecting very badly on the Conservatives who weren't even responsible for breaking the story. I think Mr. Harper should very quickly say something denouncing this sort of attack.

The possibility that there exists a video of Layton receiving the services of this young lady is extremely serious. The possibility that it is in the hands of criminal gangs is even more serious and what is extremely disturbing is that this man wants to be the leader of this country. He is wide open to undue influence and is therefore unfit to be in a position of power. He is honor bound to resign immediateley, that is if he has any honor.

Rita, this story isn't about Harper. Do you think the leaders of the other parties would be asking for everyone to remain calm if it were Harper that was caught in a rub 'n tug/steam and cream?

Fife and Criag and Jane would have had massive cornaries from their collective orgasms. They would have claimed Harper left his Hummer (pardon the pun) idling and double parked outside for the duration of his appointment and refused to leave a tip and kicked a puppy on his way out.

Seriously, give your head a shake. This wasn't a press release from CPC headquarters. Do you apply the same standard when CTV/CBC announce their lastest "gotcha" against Harper? Do you plead to the leadership of the LPC/NDP to take the high road? PU-LEEZE!

Posted by: Eskimo at April 30, 2011 1:58 AM

How is this a smear. You make it sound like it was just a lapse in judgement or something. Going into a known bawdy house and stripping naked face up on a bed and then who knows what happens. I'm not saying anything happened here I'm just saying he was naked face up on a bed here in a known bawdy house.

If you think people that do that kind of thing would make great prime ministers then I say great. But I can tell you as the most partisan hack if it came out that Stephen Harper did something like this I would demand his resignation. I'm serious.

The place was a common bawdy house raided twice in a 2 week period by Metro Police.
Vladimir Layton was a T.O. city councilor for that exact district and he didn't know he was in the House of the Rising Sun?
He didn't know what goes on in the district that elected him, really?
Come on, rita, I hope that other voters can connect the dots a bit better.

libertariansaresmarter, it's completely appropriate for Sun TV to report this story. Although SDA regulars don't need any convincing, it shows the average Canadian that Taliban Jacks judgment is non-existent. We know that he was caught once by the police in a "massage" parlor which had links to criminal gangs. He was informed by the police that individuals were filmed secretly for purposes of blackmail I very much doubt that this was Jacks only visit for a "massage".

Perhaps the triads have already used video evidence against him - this might explain his support of uncontrolled immigration. All it would take would be a video of him with a 16 year old and he'd probably do anything to prevent that evidence from going to the police.

The above is speculation, but given the potential risks of having him in a position of power, SH should be asking for him to resign immediately.

If houses of prostitution could legally exist (which I support BTW) then I'd have no problem with him frequenting one -- that would be a problem to be worked out between him and his wife. He could have availed himself of the services of a legal escort service and I'm sure the women that work for escort services perform "shiatsu massage". I'm sure for an additional fee the escort could have arrived at Jacks doorstep on a bicycle. Instead he choses to go to a place run by criminals and likely exploiting illegal immigrants.

The association with criminals even more indirectly than Jack did was used against a Conservative politician and this made news for weeks. This incident deserves all the publicity it can get.

Posted by: loki at April 30, 2011 2:24 AM

Posted by: ChrisinMB at April 30, 2011 2:28 AM

What about getting video of prominent politicians with global warming scam artists? That is a much larger scale crime than prostitution.

People understand something this simple, naked man with underage girl. What about selling out our entire economy to a foreign country that is flooding our markets with cheap junk and getting our resources at a discount while we jack up our taxes to pay for the middleman's billionaire lifestyle?

Anyone want to take that one on? Youtube?

See, this election was always about nothing. As if Iggy's residence in Boston was some big deal. All our politicians are basically bought and paid for by the Chinese -- and we need to understand that and get our country back from them.

Or we could just pretend it's getting warmer and warmer and warmer ... right Manitoba?

It could all be settled if the "regestered massage therapist" came forward and said it was a legatimate massage. I am sure a "professional" would have his name on record, address, time, date, area of treatment, number of visits etc.... and a business licance in building regestered in city hall.

There; now it is up to Jack to get that information public as soon as possable. If he can not, then let the press have its way. He might become "religious" right now, "praying" that she come forward and tell what happened. I am quite sure the police have her name on record in the same police report.

These are the questions that must be answered - yet the MSM will not ask one of these questions - except perhaps Sun TV.

Posted by: Clown Party at April 30, 2011 6:40 AM

What I feel is the most important point of the story is why the police where there in the first place.
They raided the "establishment" as part of an effort to crack down on illegal activities, such as extortion and human smuggling.
The police would have a very good motivation for keeping reports of a raid quiet so the gangs would not go underground. But seeing as we may have legislation pending in parliament dealing with human smuggling it serves the public interest to know which politicians could be compromised because of the possible existence of a compromising vid.

This would have been a great Sword of Damocles hanging over the NDP in a coalition. Too bad for the Liberals that their own leader is so unpalatable that they never got to use it under the cover of a caucus meeting.

So, faced with 18% in the polls, the Liberal war room goes nuclear: Releasing the story to Sun TV, where it'll be assumed it's a Tory story.

Eskimo (Rita, this story isn't about Harper. Do you think the leaders of the other parties would be asking for everyone to remain calm if it were Harper that was caught in a rub 'n tug/steam and cream?)

I'm not disagreeing with you. But I think the way the media will handle it, it might work out in Jack's favor. That's all. I don't care if Jack is embarrassed and it would be much better if his party would fade into irrelevance. But in this topsy-turvy world, I think the Conservatives need to be ready to do damage control. There are lots of people who will want to shoot the messenger--even if they've got the wrong messenger. Have you not noticed how many Canadians blame everything on Harper no matter how far-fetched? This event will work in their narrative. Mind you, those people already hate Harper so it doesn't matter. But for those sitting on the fence and looking for some precipitating factor to make a decision...who knows how they will react?

I find the story that the Laytons lived in subsidized accommodation while pulling their generous salaries a lot more compelling--but I guess that doesn't resonate as much as being caught with your pants down in a nookie factory.

Personally I'd rather not have to pardon Jack's indiscretion in hope of not offending a potentail voter. I don't think I want someone who would excuse his behavior as a member of my party. It's been said here many times before that pleasing your enemy doesn't make him your friend.

The Toronto Star: Saturday, November 6, 2010

“Layton and Chow: The million-dollar power couple

“OTTAWA—Toronto's Jack Layton and Olivia Chow are Ottawa's million-dollar couple.

“According to recently released House of Commons records, the NDP leader and his long-time wife, Chow, who is MP for Trinity Spadina, charged Canadian taxpayers about $1.16 million in MP expenses last year for running their offices, living in Ottawa and paying for associated travel costs.

“’Yes, it is (a lot of money) and we appreciate the compensation that's been established . . . but it is a lot less than the leaders of two of the other political parties,’ Layton, who is MP for Toronto Danforth, told the Toronto Star. . . .

“To stay in their home away from home, they charged a total of $42,478 for accommodation and per diem expenses.

“Chow was reimbursed $17,010.20, while Layton charged the maximum of $25,468 [but they live together, so why did they BOTH take the allowance?].”

Having this on his resume disqualifies him from being the Prime Minister. IF he is in a position to go to the GG and claim that he has the confidence of the house, the GG will be perfectly correct to tell him that because of this black mark on his resume he cannot govern in the best interests of Canada. He is compromised and subject to undue influence. He is the laughing stock of the world and will harm Canada's international reputation. Layton CANNOT be the Prime Minister.

Film of the potential head of Canada's Government in the hands of the Triads or more than likely in the hands of China itself by now.

Cancel his security clearances until CSIS has done a thorough investigation of this. This is bad news for Canada if he gets any power at all.

Busted at 1:30am, naked at a massage parlour and Olivia thinks it is OK.

She is as stupid as Jack is mendacious.

Besides Handjobs by illegal immigrants Jack's Other Hidden Agenda...Apr 29, 2011 – 8:28 PM ET | Last Updated: Apr 29, 2011 8:35 PM ET

NDP’s hidden constitution opposes profits, backs ‘social ownership’

With the NDP’s public election platform already packed with more than 200 extreme, unworkable, radical and mostly undesirable promises, it might surprise some to learn that Jack Layton’s current power trip packs at lot more baggage under the floorboards.

How much more can there be? They’ve got plans for what amounts to a 10¢-a-litre cap-and-trade tax on gasoline, doubled pension plan contributions, corporate tax increases, plus a long list of plans and schemes to newly regulate pharmaceuticals, banking, oil, food, telecom, railways and many other industries. As for monetary policy, not mentioned in the platform but recently the subject of comment, Mr. Layton says that he wants to maintain an “arm’s length” relationship with the Bank of Canada, although he apparently at the same time intends to jawbone the bank over interest rates and the value of the dollar.

This is all bad enough, but now let’s have a rummage through the baggage rack and under the floorboards. We’re looking for plans Mr. Layton didn’t mention in the platform, long-standing NDP agenda items, ideological positions they don’t talk much about but which underlie everything the party does. Does the NDP have any “hidden agendas”?

The CBC’s Leslie MacKinnon recently reported on the NDP’s official constitution, a 2003 document that specifies why the NDP exists. It turns out the NDP constitution is itself a hidden agenda.

First, here’s a core statement from the preamble outlining the “principles of democratic socialism” that guide the party:

That the production and distribution of goods and services shall be directed to meeting the social and individual needs of people within a sustainable environment and economy and not to the making of profit;
To modify and control the operations of the monopolistic productive and distributive organizations through economic and social planning. Towards these ends and where necessary, the extension of the principle of social ownership….
The New Democratic Party is proud to be associated with the democratic socialist parties of the world and to share the struggle for peace, international co-operation and the abolition of poverty.

Wow, you guys should be ashamed of all this dirty talk and smearing. This is so low I wouldn't touch it with a 3 inch somewhat flacid pole (well at least thats what the underage tranny asian hooker told me!)

weeeeeee this is fun!!!! Don't let the msm bury this. I already noticed on CTV website you had to dig to find the story.

I could just see all the Uber-Militant Lesbian & Wymyn's groups having a group orgasm is they found Stephen Harper hiring an immigrant prostitute in a whorehouse run by a Triad.

As usual, if it isn't a pro-state control of our lives and redistribution of wealth party they won't support it. They're as phony as their strap-on.

Jack Layton is just living the Leftie mantra:

live off other people's money, do what I want, take no responsibility.

Posted by: set you free at April 30, 2011 3:33 PM

Jack Layton found naked in a bawdy house by Toronto police is the story - fact he wasn't charged does not absolve him of any wrong doing- either criminally or morally.
It would be best if the CBC just gave Canadians all the facts and not filter the story so Canadians can decide for themselves.
If one question has yet to be answered for all Canadians and possibly for Olivia Chow as well - Why were you naked?
The question that may have been answered for Canadians is, we possibly now have an explanation for that lavish expense account that surpassed any other MP or leader.

Wasn't it Chretien, that sage of Liberalism, who stated theat 'the proof is the proof ---' Naked on a bed in a massage parlor at 1.45 am? His legitamacy is shot to pieces.

Naked on a bed in a massage parlor at 1.45 am?

2nd time it's been claimed that it was after midnight.(links anyone?)
If true, it's an important point.
If false, it could be troubling.

Links people?

If there is no libel, there is nothing to worry about, right?

And on another note, people have to undress to get a massage.

Where is the appointment book and if this was an innocent appointment how many times did Jack go back for more innocent appointments?
Inquiring minds would like to know.

people have to undress to get a massage.

With some massage techniques they do have to get undressed to a point.
Shiatzu is not one of those massage techniques that requires any disrobing at all let alone complete nudity which isn't required for any massage technique.

I wish to issue a disclaimer:

I do not believe that God interferes in elections, but I did pray yesterday that considering how serious the election of the NDP would be for Canada (reminding him of the disastrous Bob Rae reign in Ontario), would He allow something to break that would help prevent PM Layton from gaining power.

That's all I said, your Honour. I never said massage parlour, naked body, or wet kleenex.

I think it's time to interview the "rubber", wonder what she might have to say. Or did her bank account suddenly get bigger??

Overall though I don't get it. I don't always agree with some of the government's decisions or some of their policies, no will ever will, but the alternatives to the CPC are scary (yes, I said it) even before this episode. What has happened to my country?

Its not the nature of the evidence that's important, its the seriousness of the allegation.

Layton is not only a liar...he is a pathetic human being. Anybody that has to go to a whorehouse to get there jollies is a complete and utter loser. I also got a charge out of Olivia's defense...she is just as pathetic. Do they all think we are idiots out here in the real world. The blogosphere rules, you can't even fart and get away with it nowadays...politicians should pay attention here.

The only people who care wouldn't vote NDP anyway, but there are quite a few people who see this as a Conservative smear and will vote for Jack, if only for that reason.

Why would they vote for Jack?
Is he their member of parliament?

Why would they see it as a Conservative smear?
This information comes from a news outlet not the Conservative Party?
This breaking news is because purportedly a retired Metro Police officer has just revealed some notes which some people think are newsworthy.
SUN TV reports this revelation, Canadians get to decide the importance of it for themselves.

Just SUN TV NEWS, not the Conservative party.
You're just shocked to experience what I and other conservatives have experience for, oh I don't know 10+years.(conservative estimate)

Boo hoo.

If the Liberals combine with the NDP in a coalition after this then it really brands them as sleazy and capable of stooping to a new low in order to be in power. The honor of Liberalism would be severly tarnished. The Liberals would be the junior partner and the junior partner to a discredited and untrustworthy leader.
On a side note it is too funny that Bob Rae and Ujjal Dosanjh switched horses to the Liberals to fulfill their ambition of becoming the Prime Minister. Way to climb on the wrong horse boys.

In the time-honoured traditions of American politics, where so much emphasis is placed on recognizing great historical events - e.g., "Abe Lincoln slept here" - isn't it time we Canadians followed suit?

Proposed plaque for 787 Dundas St. W. ....

"Jack Layton wet here."
