Feel the beat. Feel the burn. Feel the back of your retinas peel.

Why do I get the feeling that the kind of pushups he's doing there signify what he's going to do the people that vote for him?

Posted by: Scrib at March 29, 2011 1:59 PM

It almost requires some sort of audience rating, doesn't it?

Posted by: Kate at March 29, 2011 2:05 PM

What the hell . . those aren't pushups, those are mat dorkings.

Posted by: Fred at March 29, 2011 2:07 PM

wow!...what a mean mother !

i'd sure hate to meet HIM in a dark voting booth some night!

reminds me of my last boxing coach who said to me.."john, you got great hands and great reflexes...have you ever thought of becoming an upholsterer?"

Posted by: john begley at March 29, 2011 2:09 PM

Oh my lord love a duck..... I hope he has more energy, grace and enthusiasm when he confronts his work or his mate.

Posted by: The Grey Lady at March 29, 2011 2:12 PM

I'm sure there's a weight difference, but still I'd take Regina Mayor Pat Fiacco in the first round. Actually, that's a match I'd like to pay to see, call it fun-raising.

http://www.regina.ca/Page50.aspx ... it's in the last paragraph.

Posted by: marc in calgary at March 29, 2011 2:13 PM

He's obviously never done a real pushup in his life...

Posted by: langmann at March 29, 2011 2:16 PM

To see what a real push up looks like go here http://media.crossfit.com/cf-video/CrossFit_PushupStandards.wmv

Dwain cheats at push ups.

Posted by: Brian Mallard at March 29, 2011 2:17 PM

Is that seriously supposed to be a pushup? Perhaps that's some kind of new bouncy spine excercise or something of which I'm unaware?

Posted by: Mike in Calgary at March 29, 2011 2:18 PM

While I would never vote for Link or a party under his lead, this is pretty childish. This blog has deteriorated from an alternative to mainstream news to a online school yard.

Posted by: batman at March 29, 2011 2:32 PM

Not a bone in his spine!

Posted by: Rob @ dailyrasp at March 29, 2011 2:35 PM

Well, we can't all play at the lofty heights of a comic book, batman.

Posted by: nick at March 29, 2011 2:37 PM

I think he sees the Saskatchewan taxpayer painted on that mat.

Posted by: cal2 at March 29, 2011 2:39 PM

ROFLMAO! Scrib nails it. Sorry for the verbal imagery, Kate. :)

Posted by: Mark at March 29, 2011 2:42 PM

This could explain why their called dippers.

Posted by: syncrodox at March 29, 2011 2:48 PM

they're...doh!

Posted by: syncrodox at March 29, 2011 2:53 PM

batman If the child doesn't come out and play every now and then it dies.

Posted by: Speedy at March 29, 2011 2:56 PM

The NDP policy decisions this last weekend bear out Scrib's comment at 1:59. Talk about a backward step into the Marxist past.

Posted by: Ken (Kulak) at March 29, 2011 2:59 PM

The, mainly obscured, guy on the right of the screen, (although we can't see his legs), appears to be doing men's pushups, and quite a lot of them.

Posted by: nemo2 at March 29, 2011 3:04 PM

I know the difference between push ups and dry-humping an exercise mat.

That guy is a total wimp. Suitable to marry a CBC haglet.

Posted by: Abe Froman at March 29, 2011 3:04 PM

Not hard to spot a guy who's trolling for the Gay vote...

Posted by: Jamie MacMaster at March 29, 2011 3:08 PM

Speaking of provincial party leaders or candidates:

I'm not sure where to put this news item, delighted as I am to read it...:-)

"Freshly resigned former Tory MP John Cummins has announced his candidacy for the leadership of the B.C. Conservatives, hoping to revive a party that's long been on the fringe of provincial politics."

http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/national/british-columbia/bc-politics/cummins-to-run-for-leadership-of-bc-conservatives/article1961591/

I would vote for Cummins. The man calls a spade a spade.

Posted by: chutzpahticular at March 29, 2011 3:12 PM

Watch the guy in back. Lingenf*** only does 3 dork pushups in the entire video, then it gets repeated over and over.

What a fake!

Posted by: Rick in BC at March 29, 2011 3:25 PM

A couple weeks ago there was some footage of Michael Coren at his martial arts workout. Michael would pound the crap out of this guy without breaking a sweat.

Posted by: $ FKA gord at March 29, 2011 3:26 PM

At 1st I thought thee trainer should have his/her arse kicked, but then I remembered; Mat Dorker is a lefty and this is the sneakiest way they could come up with to break him.

Posted by: the bear at March 29, 2011 3:27 PM

The push-ups actually look as another kind of activity.

Posted by: Lev at March 29, 2011 3:34 PM

What a daffodil. I dunno what's worse, those pathetic pushups or being stupid enough to record oneself doing them, and, after seeing how pitiful they look, still post the video online.

Posted by: max at March 29, 2011 3:35 PM

What a pathetic poofter!

Posted by: Zog at March 29, 2011 3:40 PM

hutzpahticular,

I'm with you on that. Cummins should have been fisheries minister but, he warmed the backbench because he knows his business and takes no crap.

Posted by: Zog at March 29, 2011 3:44 PM

OK now I understand why that marriage thingy hasn't worked out so well!

Posted by: Robyn at March 29, 2011 3:49 PM

I remember years ago seeing a documentary on how Marvin Hagler got in shape for boxing, a thousand situps a day, followed by the same number of pushups, and a few other of the old RCAF fitness manual exercises.

Hagler looked like he was carved out of granite.

Dwain looks like he was injection molded out of runny cream cheese. Never have I seen a fighter with such spindly calves!

This video has all the pathos of the Michael Ignatieff "boat person" video.

Posted by: dmorris at March 29, 2011 3:52 PM

That's the administration of "tax pain."

Posted by: M Kenny at March 29, 2011 4:08 PM

"Cummins should have been fisheries minister but, he warmed the backbench because he knows his business and takes no crap."

Precisely! BCers respect him for that.

Posted by: chutzpahticular at March 29, 2011 4:19 PM

Dang, that's not how you do pushups....well, the kind in gyms anyway!!! LOL

Posted by: Soccermom at March 29, 2011 4:26 PM

I think this vid should come with a restricted viewing warning...LOL it's a tad x-rated

Posted by: Soccermom at March 29, 2011 4:27 PM

two thing's ....he is showing saskatchewantonians throught physical motions what he plans on doing to them.

And second point those are the worst girly pushup's i have ever seen t!!

Posted by: paul in calgary at March 29, 2011 4:34 PM

Stefani could do worse; just trying to think how.

Posted by: WalterF at March 29, 2011 4:34 PM

He cheats on pushups while people are watching. Most people don't cheat on pushups when nobody is watching. There must be some message here.

Posted by: madmax at March 29, 2011 6:16 PM

The correlation between physical weakness and socialism tendencies is roughly a perfect 1.

Posted by: the Champ at March 29, 2011 7:21 PM

Hey hey easy.
His arms are probably deformed from always having his hand in everyone else's pocket.

Posted by: richfisher at March 29, 2011 8:07 PM

Between this guy and his dry hump pushups, and Ignatieff's workout wear, you'd swear dorkiness is a prerequisite for public office.

Posted by: AD at March 29, 2011 9:26 PM

walterf

that's gonna leave a mark...

Posted by: syncrodox at March 29, 2011 10:19 PM

The funny part is that he's trying to look hardcore by pushing up on his fists. But Scrib totally ruined it; I really didn't need that imagery in my head.

Posted by: Another Calgary Marc at March 29, 2011 10:35 PM

scrib and richfisher are tied.

Posted by: Ken (Kulak) at March 29, 2011 11:27 PM

Moses is going to make a boxer out of him, in six weeks?? For one thing, Moses hasn't made a boxer of anyone, so far. He's keeping his gym open by catering to wannabes, and taking grant money. For another thing, that guy could train every day, for six months, and I could still pound him, while holding a glass of pepsi in my right hand, without spilling a drop.

BTW, I wonder who posted that wonderful editing job on youtube?

Posted by: coach at March 30, 2011 12:07 AM

LOL! This is not the proper way of doing push- ups. He must try to visit a gym instructor and ask him to teach him the proper way of doing it.
