Those Moderate Muslims!

Tens of thousands...

... marched in Pakistan's largest city on Sunday to oppose any change to national blasphemy laws and to praise a man charged with murdering a provincial governor who had campaigned against the divisive legislation.

The rally of up to 50,000 people in downtown Karachi was one of the largest demonstrations of support for the laws, which make insulting Islam a capital offense. It was organized before the governor of Punjab province, Salman Taseer, was shot dead on Tuesday in Islamabad by a bodyguard who told a court he considered Taseer a blasphemer.

Muslim groups have praised the bodyguard, Mumtaz Qadri, and have used Taseer's death to warn others not to speak out against the much-derided laws.

Where are the left? Why aren't they speaking out against this organised religion? Don't they feel organised religions are 'too uppity'? Are they cowards? Where are they?
Too busy shaming conservatives over the incident in Tucson, no doubt.

Osumashi asks "Where are the left?". Most likely because they approve.

All moderates, except for ones that have already killed for their religion.

Shades of Anwar Sadat!
This means virtual lawlessness.
Just about any Muslim could off another and simply claim, in abscence of the corpses ability to protest innocence, that they had been killed for blaspheming.

Worse, this means the Islamic hardliners could just kill their way into possession of Pakistan's nuclear weapons by killing moderates that stand in their way and justify it with blasphemy accusations.

Posted by: Oz at January 11, 2011 12:36 AM

I'm all for punishing blasphemers, but they shouldn't be killed. Instead, social/political pressure should be applied to force them to recant their views.

Posted by: EBD at January 11, 2011 12:37 AM

Sorry islamists, what I meant to say was; All moderates except for the martyrs that couldn't make the glorious event.

Posted by: wallyj at January 11, 2011 12:38 AM

Ken, of course.
This, along with the several thousand incidents of madness, will be glossed over, if not forgotten by the left.
I hope they enjoy the dhimmitude.

Let me fix that line for ya:

The rally of up to 50,000 U.S. soldiers in downtown Karachi was one of the largest demonstrations of military power which make Islam a capital offense.

Kill the jihadis.

Then bomb the funerals.

Posted by: POWinCA at January 11, 2011 12:57 AM

The left does seem to be fixated on hauling those they perceive as guilty in front of their tribunals, wether it's the normal courts or the kangaroo HRC we're stuck with in Canada isn't going to make any difference.

http://thelastcrusade.org/tag/muslim-inbreeding/

Given that this inbreeding has occurred to such extent in their communities, and their desire to bring their communities to civilization, I'd say recantation may be the way to, move forward.

When we start adopting similar laws around Christianity we may have a chance of beating these Neanderthals.

As it is, they have us by the politically correct, secular balls.

They are compelled by their higher power to beat us out of existence and we are compelled by our earthly elites to let them.

That link to the angle is a thinly veiled attempt to give the lefties not just an unlimited monopoly on criticism but to also grant them veto power over any public statement WE make.

As far as the religion of peace....a fine opportunity was lost to turn Karachi into glass.....a diplomatic method which converted an implacable, vicious enemy(Imperial Japan) into a productive ally.

Posted by: sasquatch at January 11, 2011 1:23 AM

The left does nothing because its pet project, the UN, is moving to endorse blasphemy as a crime against Islam. Except at the UN it is referred to as "Defamation of Religion". The left is in bed with the OIC.

Posted by: Robert at January 11, 2011 1:40 AM

Odd isn't it, that they don't seem to realize that civilized people view that rally of 50,000 as an insult to basic human decency.

Western Civilization's most articulate defender, Ayan Hirsi Ali
argues that there is no such thing as "Islamophobia", as Islam is simply not compatible with Western Civilization.

Her books "Infidel" and "Nomad" are most thought provoking.

Ken (Kulak) is correct. The left are fools. They think that by cheering for a Dark Ages type gument arrangement they will be 'elevated' by the 'new bosses' because they backed the evil and 'helped' destroy our Christan Civilization; they are too 'sophisticated' to believe what our Lord has said and they are 'above' what they call superstition and naive trust in an abstract truth. Well, they will not like their new boss(es), if they succeed in destroying the free nations of the world - esp. the females.

This is worse than the OJ Simpson case. What more evidence do we need? Muslim Immigration=Civilization suicide. I agree with Liz the fact that we need to label some (and I mean some) Muslims as "moderate" goes to show how demented this religion is. They do not assimilate well so why are we bringing them in?

In other news:

Tens of thousands have still not marched in Phoenix celebrating the attempted murder of Congresswoman Giffords.

Women still not ululating in the streets of Wasilla over the murder of a 9 year old girl.

Posted by: Dennis at January 11, 2011 9:04 AM

@Kinyobe "Where are the left?"

Like their "moderate" Muslim brothers and sisters, they give silent tacit approval from the sideline.

They are silent because they are cowards and liars, too ashamed to admit that they seek the same end as their Muslim comrades: the destruction of Israel.

The left's "anti-Zionism," a PC ruse for anti-Semitism, prevents them from speaking out in favour of female rights.

This parallels perfectly with the story a couple months back about how West Bank and Gaza Arabs (WBGA) regularly rape female aid workers and how the leaders of the aid organizations coerce the female victims into silence lest they compromise the false image being portrayed of WBGA victimization.

Remember, Obi, "female rights" is not an end of the left; it is a means.

Where are the left? Helping the Wahhabists' infiltrate western society unmolested by the rest of us as we watch in horror at the unholy union of progressive retarded socialists' dribbling in lust at the Wahhabists. Whereever the Wahhabi Death Cult members go they turn entire nations into medieval backward seventh century hell holes. Pakistan isn't alone Eurabia will be like that in ten years because of the political left's hatred of Civilized western culture.

50,000 out of 16 million people is a pretty small percentage. What is troubling is that 100,000 don't rally to support the other side.

Memory refresher:
The Christian lady at the centre of this, awaiting execution, offered fellow muslim labourers some water, which they refused because water handled by a Christian is thought to be dirty-sinful. The lady merely DEFENDED her religion. She was raped and accused of blasphemy. I just read that her prison guard has defended the governor's murderer.

Let's never forget: To islam merely defending your religion, merely refusing to convert is an AGGRESSIVE act. When the offers goes out (the bridge) and you refuse (to cross the bridge over to Islam) you are guilty of an aggressive, warlike act.

EBD: Migawd, how sickeningly obsequious is that Boston Globe piece with the suggested "presidential moment" speech Palin should give. As you say, RECANT! Positively Maoist. Surely they are aware of the use of target imagery in the DNC and leftist sites like Daily Kos. Shouldn't they be included in the great INCANTATION.

Me No Dhimmi's plea:
END muslim immigration. Infidels -- get out of all muslim lands. US, shut down ALL those military bases.
Delusionsal multi-faith dialoguers: don't try to build bridges to Islam.

"Has anyone ever defined what "moderate" Muslim means and why the need to define them as such?"
~Liz J

I've stated many times that I don't believe in moderate Muslims, yet above I used the term "moderates".

When I used it, I didn't mean that they were moderate in their practice of Islam.
I meant they were moderate in their political policy.

A moderate Muslim is any Muslim who doesn't want to die/kill for their political policy, right here right now.

http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=achmed+the+dead+terrorist&aq=0

It's been linked here before, but it's worth a look if you don't know Achmed.

True story: My daughter (10 at the time) was calling our bird 'infidel'. I asked her 'do you even know what an infidel is?" to which she answered "yeah, you're an infidel". She was right, but I continued to dig and she told me about Achmed. I must say I was very impressed by her choice of entertainment, and I'm forever grateful that there are satirists like Jeff Dunham, Trey Parker and Matt Stone that risk their own lives to spread a very important message using the comedy medium. I am constantly on the search for political material that my kids will find interesting, and I find comedy and cartoons are the best for their age groups. South Park has taught my kids more about the Islam issue than the public educator could ever dream of doing. In fact, I'd bet my last dollar that the educators would prefer that South Park and myself would leave teaching politics to them. Ain't gonna happen! As I said on a thread earlier, I'm utilizing the kids cell phones to link important material directly to them at school, and they continue the chain if they enjoy the link. I used that cartoon from a few weeks back (regarding capitalism) as my tester. Success! My kid did link it to most in her grade 6 class. IMO it's just too bad that amazingly talented comedians like Stewart and Colbert choose not to put their talents and their pulpit to use and do the same.

"No stronger retrograde force exists on Earth" - Winston Churchill, 1899, referring to Islam.

For the left-lib fascists, no better ally exists than Islam. They both favour censorship as a minimum (and eventually genocide at the extreme) as tools to deal with people opposed to or merely indifferent to their pathologies.

They both work towards a massive governance regime where the notion of empowered citizens is extinguished in favour of servitude to the ruling class (Imam-state structure).

The "moderate" left-lib fascists have adopted a form of delusion and denial when it comes to Islam while their "conservative" political enemies have at least more or less correctly identified the problem.

Any apparent solutions don't fit a politically correct mold nor compatibility with Western liberal values. Such values cannot be maintained in a society with a growing population of Muslims unless they are majority de facto Apostates.

All you Christians, Jews, Hindus, Buddhists (et al) and Atheists out there have your work cut out for you. Either you convert the (imported) barbarians or we eventually degenerate into civil war or Islamic serfdom. Future imports should have a price tag of Apostasy attached.

Posted by: John Chittick at January 11, 2011 1:21 PM

As I said, Homez, you don't have any idea how rare those gloves were.
That they were only sold at one store on the face of the earth thousands of miles away from LA on the opposite coast, for a limited time, and that regardless of whether the blood shrank glove appeared to fit over the accused hand, that Nicole had a receipt for 2 pair,-one pair of small for her and one pair of XX-L for OJ-, that she had purchased at that one-and-only famous store years before during that single Christmas season as Christmas presents for both of them.

Those gloves could only have been OJ's gloves.
They couldn't have been left, one at the scene of the crime, the other at OJ's estate, by some phantom drug dealers.

An obtuse person could argue that a police conspiracy brought one from the crime scene to OJ's house, but it doesn't explain how those rare gloves, owned by OJ, got to the crime scene in the first place.

Also, your gonch argument is purile and simplistic.
It either doesn't address the facts or distorts them.

Posted by: Oz at January 11, 2011 1:42 PM

Me No Dhimmi @11:09 - it's interesting, isn't it, (going by the information we have), that drinking water that's been handled by a Christian pollutes a good Muslim, because Chistians are unclean; raping her, on the other hand, seems to carry no hygienic implications.

batman @12:59 - that story you linked - about Muslims in Egypt offering to act as "human shields" for Christians going to Church - I've seen several times on the right-o-sphere. If true, it's admirable (and suicidally brave); nobody's ignoring it, because after all, sad to say, it falls into the "man bites dog" category. Which is sort of the point really.

And people say mean things about lawyers.

Posted by: Black Mamba at January 11, 2011 2:50 PM

Homez and Oz: There are very few people who thought OJ innocent. His lawyers are probably not included among them. The prosecution lost the case on two grounds: they tried on the glove, and Fuhrmann. When they brought out the glove and OJ "couldn't" get it on, their case was toast, and the jury reacted accordingly. Cochrane was a genius for pouncing on that. That said, it's long enough ago that I don't remember who brought out the glove.

As to moderate Muslims...to get back on topic...I think there actually are some, but they're secularists. And an infinitesimally small number of them reside outside North America. However, I have little doubt that these same "moderates" would remain so after a regime change. YMMV.
