Y2Kyoto: True Believers

Now is the time at SDA when we juxtapose!

Tom Burke of the climate change think tank E3G, March 2010 - "Climate change becomes a question of reason against unreason, and the use of the religious labels -- propagated by lazy journalism -- is all about controlling the agenda through language. It is a classic right-wing ploy," he added. "The deniers who call themselves agnostics are obfuscating. It is a lie and should be exposed as such."

Christiana Figueres, executive secretary of the U.N. Framework Convention on Climate Change, December 2010 - "Excellencies, the goddess Ixchel would probably tell you that a tapestry is the result of the skilful interlacing of many threads. I am convinced that 20 years from now, we will admire the policy tapestry that you have woven together and think back fondly to Cancun and the inspiration of Ixchel."

Related! "Norway got over a hundred new records in November."

Yeah - the MSM don't lie (:-)) they just don't report.
The fact that much of northern Europe has been shut down by
snow and cold - cold more than 5 deg below the seasonal norms -
has simply not been reported by outlets such as CNN and the Globe and Mail, and CBC.
It has its effect - the Globe decided to write
about the snow and cold in Buffalo - talking to a taxi driver this
morning, that is all he had heard about cold spells.

Who would ever have thought, twenty years ago,
that these left-wing creeps would even politicise the weather!

There are some Mayan pyramids just down the road from Cancun . . . maybe we could have a few of the Global Warming High Priests & Priestesses perform some sacrificial ceremonies like removing the hearts from live humans and offering them to the gods.

Is it possible that the idiot who said this has any power over anything? "Excellencies, the goddess Ixchel would probably tell you that a tapestry is the result of the skilful interlacing of many threads. I am convinced that 20 years from now, we will admire the policy tapestry that you have woven together and think back fondly to Cancun and the inspiration of Ixchel."

Of course not, it came from an 8 year old Mexican child. Let's see I have her name right here: Christiana Figueres, executive secretary of the U.N. Framework Convention on Climate Change.

That's an awfully long name.

An asteroid could take out all 15,000 attendees at Cancun and at next year's warmer-fest there would be another 15,000 as if nothing has changed. It will take an entire generation to purge our culture of embedded rent seekers, hysteria pimps, and their MSM parrots.

Posted by: John Chittick at December 3, 2010 11:44 AM

Witness Liza Frulla yesterday on CBC P&P show reduced to sputtering incoherence. This because other panelists pointed out that Canadians have moved on from the climate change hysteria, and are not prepared to bankrupt their savings on carbon tax and cap and trade schemes. When India, China, Japan, USA and Brazil have shown no intention of accepting another Kyoto plan, she thinks that Quebec, Ont. and BC are showing proper leadership. The rage of arrogant Liberals like her, provide some hope that the CC bubble has burst and that more realistic policies will
prevail.

sacrificial ceremonies like removing the hearts from live humans and offering them to the gods.

Wouldn't work.
The skeevy B-tards at COP16 haven't got any hearts.

Cancun could use a large build up of "swamp gas" underneath the hotels where this conference is taking place.

"Norway got over a hundred new records in November."

Yeah, but it was all Abba and crap like that.

Posted by: mojo at December 3, 2010 12:18 PM

John, Yucatan already got hit once by a monster asteroid 65 m years ago. It left the crater Xiczulub and meant the end of both the Cretaceous and the dinosaurs. The chance of such happening again there is so infinitesimally small as to constitute an impossibility.

Joey, any COP conference generates tons of combustible gas all on its own. Given Mexican cuisine (and who doesn't love refried beans), this will be greatly enhanced.

Fred, possibly appropriate. Ixchel was often portrayed by the ancient Mayans as being decorated with interlinked bones. With reference to the previous paragraph, it may have been a fairly traumatic event if the goddess were to say to her worshipers, "I'd like to have you over for dinner."

Good, this ponzi scheme needs to die.

Especially since the AGWers wouldn't even listen to my theory of Planetary Alignment having any effect on Climate Change.

I love it.

It must really really sting for the Progressive Secular environmentalists to be analogies (in the main stream) as religious zealots. \

PRUDEN: Turn out the lights, the party's over
Scams die hard, but eventually they die, and when they do, nobody wants to get close to the corpse. You can get all the hotel rooms you want this week in Cancun.
The global-warming caravan has moved on, bound for a destination in oblivion.

"Climate: a million deaths a year by 2030 - study

CANCUN, Mexico — By 2030, climate change will indirectly cause nearly one million deaths a year and inflict 157 billion dollars in damage, according to estimates presented at UN talks on Friday.

The biggest misery will be heaped on more than 50 of the world's poorest countries, but the United States will pay the highest economic bill, it said.

"In less than 20 years, almost all countries in the world will realise high vulnerability to climate impact as the planet heats up," the report warned."

4. None of the above.

"Cancún climate talks in danger of collapse over Kyoto continuation"

"The UN climate talks in Cancún were in danger of collapse last night after many Latin American countries said that they would leave if a crucial negotiating document, due to be released tomorrow, did not continue to commit rich countries to emissions cuts under the Kyoto Protocol.

The Bolivarian Alliance for the Americas (Alba) group of nine Latin American countries – who claim they are backed by African, Arab countries and other developing nations – said they were not prepared to see an end to the treaty that legally requires all of its signatories to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

They challenged the Mexican presidency of the UN summit to prepare a negotiating text including a commitment by rich countries to set fresh targets for a second period of Kyoto beyond 2012.

The Guardian understands that if the new text includes a reference to a continuation of the Kyoto protocol, the talks will continue. But if it omits the wording and opts only to support negotiations based on the weaker Copenhagen accord agreed last year, then developing countries are likely to stop the talks."

Meanwhile here in Alberta we can stick a fork in E.D.,.. with I am sure E.D.'s blessing, the environMENTAL minister Rob Renner, is on his way to Cancin, to...defend the Oilsands, nothing else, and we have yet to spot Santa here in Alberta, but Renner, STILL, believes in Globull Warming. In a province that has a deficit of 6 billion dollars, we still think not publicly stating, GLOBULL WARMING IS A SCAM, is off limits. Save your money you fools, you will need it after the next election!
