Losing ABC News

Is there nothing that ... oh nevermind.

Yowza.

If things get any worse, Keith Olbermann will be demanding to see that birth certificate.

First! Kate for pm!!!

Always liked Jake Tapper. Whatshername sounded snotty at the end.

On a lighter note, check out Dennis Miller

Love the line that Pelosi is thicker than a Charlie Sheen prenup.

ABC = Any birth certificate?

MSNBC = Must say no birth certificate.

CBS = Celebrate Barack Socialism.

Posted by: Peter O'Donnell at November 13, 2010 7:37 PM

I've been wondering for a while now whether the MSM like having some influence on politics even more than they like pushing left-wing ideas. I'm not ready to say that it's true, but this sort of thing just may be an early indicator of a media willing to take down a President just because they can.

Posted by: Iowa Jim at November 13, 2010 8:10 PM

Lots of people predicted the media would eventually turn on Obama. When you considered the the love fest the media had with him there really wasn't any place to go but down.

Now that the MSM has sobered up and realized it is impossible to increase corporate taxes and regulations all while creating employment, do you think it fair to say they are moving to the right?

Hey, batta, batta, batta...schwing batta!!!

Not even a bunt...?

Dude, let's not forget who the MSM is. They are idiots who will believe 12 impossible things before breakfast. Didn't we just watch them raise a rumpus about an airliner contrail being a missile?

They are doing the thing that they do which makes them money. They are making noise.

Pretty soon, Obama is going to sell the home videos of his birth in Kenya for money.

He should quit now while the lecture circuit is still willing to pay him vast amounts of money. Maybe he should write a third biography.

Posted by: POWinCA at November 13, 2010 9:13 PM

Iowa Jim....

You meant to say, "an early indicator of a media willing to take down a -left wing- President just because they can."....didn't you?

The MSM certainly did their best to take down Bush, and for that matter, Bubba, as well. In that regard, I don't believe the media is really that smart, it's just the big target they like to chase and take down. "Dirty Laundry" sells.

As said previous, there was nowhere to go but down, what with all the pom-poms flying around the newsrooms of the land, when Obumble was running for high office.....now he will be running for cover, or that coveted UN post....

Posted by: DanBC at November 13, 2010 9:20 PM

To put it short, when the media smells blood, they chase it like the hyenas that they are.

For them to turn on Obama, is not really a surprise, despite their despicable cheerleading routine in 07. The media is carnivourous, and will never apologize for being hypocrites.

Somewhere in this Q & A Oblamebush asks for a Korean translator. Unfortunately the person asking the question is Chinese and to top it off the questioner speaks better English than Oblamebush. To cover his embarrassment Oblamebush tries to find a Korean questioner.

Watching Oblamebush is more entertaining that watching Elmer Fudd hunt wabbits in a Wagnerian Opera

I really hope Obama is arrogant enough and stupid enough to run for re-election. I will so love seeing him lose.

And, wnmc, thanks for the Tonight Show link. That was nice.

The establishment media's current criticism of "The One" is nothing more than a painfully obvious attempt to regain some credibility after their shameless (even by their standards...) bias from the 2008 campaign. And the only reason the MSM wants to bamboozle us into thinking they're suddenly credible is so that come 2012, they can revert back to full-throated campaign mode for Obama, just like 2008.

Don't kid yourselves. The American media is overrun with hyper-partisan Democrats who universally loathe Republicans and all things conservative. Obama's their guy, and they'll abandon all pretense of objectivity when he needs them again in 2012.

Good line Kate!

Posted by: LEDA at November 14, 2010 6:44 AM

Mike H,

While I have my doubts he'll run I agree there will be media backing. The criticism now is just to give them the excuse to back him later.

See we criticized, we are objective.

The blonde announcer at the beginning and end of this clip is Diane Sawyer, wife of New York director/producer Mike Nichols, both smart cookies, both big-time Dems.

She looked pretty grim. Hey, you can dress Obam-bam up but if you take him anywhere he makes an utter fool of himself. Watching and listening to him holds the same fascination as witnessing a train wreck.

Don't get over yourselves people, the MSM is not turning again'st Barry, they are just starting to give us some non spun truth about their chosen one...Most of Barry's past will stay in the dark and his future gaffes will continue to be overlooked and/or partly under investigated/ unreported...In the meantime, we will all continue to know what innapropriate panties Sarah is wearing on a daily basis.

Only after he's gone from the White House will the bloodsuckers come out and confirm what we have been talking about with numerous articles, special reports and books...They'll do it at that time for profit over a 'dead' comrade of theirs and not because they have abandoned the Marxist ideology of their collective school upbringing...and yes the birth certificate controversy probably will surface too.

If you think Obama makes a fool of himself (and his country, by extension)while attending international events just imagine what we Canadians will experience if we ever have Iggy representing us.

Posted by: wafer at November 14, 2010 9:02 AM

Obama is proving to be what I expected him to be and many here are in agreement - an empty suit. Too bad for the US and the free world - gains against our collective good will are being made. Was Obama installed by the Chinese?

The Dems will slit his throat and install may be Hillary. Republicans beware, she has clout and undeserved respect (I think she is worse than the One).

The Republicans have an opportunity here, do not blow it. Put in a Reagan clone - regain lost international clout - DO-IT.

As much as I like Palin - she is not it. Reservations about Romney too.

China is not the country to be No 1. They are ruthless opportunists and very successful at it as the US has and is, but when a disaster strikes anywhere in the world it will be the US who has the compassion to respond and help, not China - they will just let them die. They are not fit to lead the world in any metric.

Do us all a favour and buy product NOT made in China - NMIC.

New blood has to come on the scene in the US political scene to overthrow the status quo political class. Now is not too late.

Posted by: LEDA at November 14, 2010 10:28 AM

Heh.

My wife has loved the Obamessiah since he began campaigning. I told her repeatedly that he is just a narcisstic empty suit, and that the certain failure of the expectations that he was promising would bring him down....big time.

I have a number of friends in the US...have asked them how that hopeychangey thing is working for them these days...none of them are amused any longer...there appears to be an undercurrent of revolution-like sentiment in the US these days.

Posted by: Bruce at November 14, 2010 10:32 AM

Stephen,

Yeah, I'm starting to come around to the possibility that Obama might not run in 2010. Still far too early to make any bold predictions, though. If the economy continues to tank, chances are very high he'll bow out. By then, he'll likely be polling under 40%. That's "can't win" territory, and even an uber-narcissist like Obama will cut his losses and walk away rather than take one in the loss column.

Posted by: Mike H at November 14, 2010 12:09 PM

Diane's voice sounded like she was seriously disappointed in the news report, "Thank you Jake Tapper."

Note the inflection and the timbre?

"So I guess the conclusion is that as reviled as Obama is (and Clinton?) they're more than twice as popular as good ol' GWB. In reponse to the catchphrase "Miss me yet?" Americans have loudly spoken "No!"

No, I guess the conclusion would be, you like to run your mouth, Mouth, especially when you don't know what you're talking about.

Some very recent Gallup poll numbers:

October 21, 2010

"Obama's Approval Rating at New Low in Most Recent Quarter. His favorable rating and re-elect figures are also at new lows."

[...]

"Obama's decreased popularity is also evident in his favorable rating, updated in an Oct. 14-17 Gallup poll. For the first time, more Americans view the president unfavorably (50%) than favorably (47%), and his favorable rating is the lowest of his presidency."

http://www.gallup.com/poll/143921/Obama-Approval-Rating-New-Low-Recent-Quarter.aspx

November 9, 2010

"As Book Tour Begins, George W. Bush's Favorable Rating at 44%."

PRINCETON, NJ -- "As he begins promoting his new memoir "Decision Points," former President George W. Bush receives a 44% favorable and 53% unfavorable rating from Americans. This is up slightly from a 40% favorable rating in January 2009 when he left office, but far below the 87% he received in the aftermath of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks."

http://www.gallup.com/poll/144350/Book-Tour-Begins-George-Bush-Favorable-Rating.aspx

In the lexicon of pollsters, Obama and Bush are in a "dead heat" in terms of popularity.

Sure stings when you're made to look that stupid, doesn't it Mouth? Time to come up with a new 'nym before your next visit...

"Didn't we just watch them raise a rumpus about an airliner contrail being a missile?"
~The Phantom

That's what you witnessed.
What I witnessed was the MSM story morphing from a missile launch that had a military Chinook helicopter in the foreground with no attempt to identify it or interview the crew, to an unidentified airliner with no MSM attempt to confirm.
As it stands today, the record, even from the military itself, is that the 'thing' is still a mystery.

One would think that news people who liked their jobs and flew in a traffic helicopter every day would know what other routine aircraft in the sky looked like just because they lived in the sky themselves.
