Rally to Restory Vanity.

It's all just a big misunderstanding.

Posted by: POWinCA at October 30, 2010 12:10 PM

It's blatantly obvious what they're doing: Eedjets!

When the crowd they're expecting ends up being pathetically small compared to Glen Beck's rally, there won't be any "enemy" cameras to film the rag-tag, motley crew. It'll all be close-ups and numbers will be swelled, "several thousand," perhaps meaning over 3000 or even 2000.

What shysters. They must think we're all as stupid and ignorant as they are.

Posted by: batb at October 30, 2010 12:17 PM

Initial live blogging reports indicate it's a pure white crowd, nobody there except racists.

One thing's for sure...this rally had a kick-ass opening act...it's tough to beat a live performance by The Roots.

what did you expect . . . these folks are Obozo supporters and they want his enemies to feel & fear his wrath.

Just like he promised he'd do.

"When the crowd they're expecting ends up being pathetically small compared to Glen Beck's rally"

"Meh...small crowd."

Funny how a so called 'Conservative' blog puts so much clout in the collective.

"They want to restore FEAR?"

Clearly you haven't watched the Colbert show.

Posted by: BTJ at October 30, 2010 1:40 PM

So Kate, you decide to reference the Daily Show and Colbert show in regards to this rally....how come you haven't before? You've never referenced them in regards to their tearing apart Glenn Beck and all of FOX NEWS...never found an argument to counter with?

Posted by: BTJ at October 30, 2010 1:46 PM

I took the Sane quizz where you decide which protest side is sane. They usually have two non sane choices. Lesser of evils type of thing. Gave up after about 10. Wasn't funny, wasn't engaging, wasn't anything of ANY value.

Posted by: Speedy at October 30, 2010 1:51 PM

Yeah, that must be it, BTJ.

You go with that one... you've got Kate on the run.

Heh.

BTJ Because it is more fun to watch all the build up before the inevitable falling on the arse. Credibility thingie I'm guessin'.

"So Kate, you decide to reference the Daily Show and Colbert show in regards to this rally....how come you haven't before? "

Stop trying to change the subject, you racist.

Posted by: Kate at October 30, 2010 2:02 PM

BTJ means that Colbert being a mock right winger who's suppose to represent a Bill O'Reilley of sorts, should instill fear...

See the progressives say we are irrational for fearing trillions in debt being past to future generations, socialism, massive unemployment, an ever increasing federal government etc...A real cornucopea of material to create comedy out of..."My neighbors are loosing their homes" Ah Ah Ah!...A real fun day on the Mall!

...Like the progressives, us stupid Conservatives should be partying and not wasting our lives worrying about trivial stuff like Country and well being of future generations.

...In the meantime, I've been listening to this rally's live feed in the background...Colbert's singing "America is fine and needs no fixing", again "fixing" means "work and sacrifice" taking away party time...

Enjoy your day, immature fools.

Posted by: Right Honourable Terry Tory at October 30, 2010 2:08 PM

"Stop trying to change the subject, you racist."

Change the subject? Common now Kate, I know you can do better than that. No rebuttal to the absolute destruction of Glenn Beck and FOX NEWS? John Stewart and Stephen Colbert reveal them for the fools they are....and you dedicate a thread topic to Beck...yet not a peep.

Posted by: BTJ at October 30, 2010 2:10 PM

CPAC is carrying the moonbat's rally. Did they carry Glenn Becks Restoring Honor rally? Their giving out Insanity medals at this time. LOL

I couldn't care less....I'll take this as you have no counter argument, and you champion the collective majority...you are not a Conservative, you're a Neo-Con. Glenn Beck is a lunatic, Fox News is for simple minds.

Posted by: BTJ at October 30, 2010 2:24 PM

Man those live feed cameras are careful not to give the full backdrop perspective of the crowd, aren't they?
...ABC reported this morning that although facebook reported over 200,000 would be there they said that the promoters estimated the crowd would be about 60,000 at it's peak.
It will be for the most part people from surrounding DC area...And i suspect it will fizzle out quick...It is so far pretty weak stuff comedy wise...Kid Rock is waning small star rocker and so is tune covers Queen Sheryl Crow...Where is Lady Gaga?

Posted by: Right Honourable Terry Tory at October 30, 2010 2:27 PM

Didn't they do this last month or something? Practically nobody showed up, but they left the place a mess? I swear I remember something...

BTW so people pay money to see Sherryl Crow, do they? How odd...

"Didn't they do this last month or something?"

Nope

Posted by: BTJ at October 30, 2010 2:32 PM

Hmmm, BTJ - so Kate responds to your point by linking to the superior ratings of Fox versus all others.. .

So her point is: the media is inherently conservative - in fact, far-right wing, since Fox routinely presents viewpoints which are radically extreme by any standards (i.e., Beck: "the president has a deep-seated hostility to white people")

Thus Kate points out - the days of the "liberal media" are over. Far-right fringes now control the debate - and are vastly more popular than any other perspective - the ratings prove it.

So: why all the bitter bitching and fist-shaking? Still picking at your tiny scabs about those mean little ineffectual liberals saying Beck & the Teabaggers are racists, Kate? Those are mere mosquito bites. Why moan? You won. Get used to it.

Posted by: mouth at October 30, 2010 2:32 PM

Was there no room on the bus for the American flag? (yeah, it's supposed to be singular). I don't see any in the faux crowd.

The organizers brought some flags. Does the crowd recognize it, and what it stands for?

ok, enough of that video, Lew Alcindor is telling me how they're all here to share the same planet. I'm guessing they'll give us a choice in that matter? because I'm not interested.

Posted by: marc in calgary at October 30, 2010 2:32 PM

Ouch!

This is embarrassingly bad.

It is like going to a national park and watching park employees do first person interpretation. You know, the pedantic story telling, awkwardly told so as to leave no doubt that the viewer is an idiot for bothering to stop and indulge the "performance".

Awful!

Posted by: Lethbridge at October 30, 2010 2:39 PM

No filming eh. Well, from the size of the crowds,
with a lack of any brown faces .I wouldn't either.
You can tell race mans a lot to these losers.

Posted by: Revnant Dream at October 30, 2010 2:40 PM

Colbert just had a "fear" video montage of politics from both sides and the MSM often overblown issues from bedbugs to flipflops...BUT, nothing on Global Warming/climate change; the numero uno of the all fear mongering items, created of course by the liberals.
HYPOCRISY...The progressives own it.

Posted by: Right Honourable Terry Tory at October 30, 2010 2:45 PM

It's all white because Colbert and Stewarts viewers are all white (leftist elitists). The ratings data on this do not lie.

Posted by: Gord Tulk at October 30, 2010 2:48 PM

And their audiences are microscopic - Stewart apparently has more viewers in Canada than he does in the US (I will try and find the evidence for the latter, the former is painful common knowledge).

Posted by: Gord Tulk at October 30, 2010 2:51 PM

BTJ @2:32 PM -"Nope."

No, there was. Help me out here peeps... Jon Stewart got his knickers in a twist about Glenn Beck's thing, so he organized a dealie where the Unions bussed a lot of people in but the turnout still sucked and nobody picked up after themselves.

bleetymouth @2:32 - "So her point is: the media is inherently conservative.." - No. Try harder. There are many lefty news stations, and only one righty one; and yet the righty one is popular with the great unwashed and the others aren't. Now shut up, you racist.

"That's the POINT! It's a rally for normal, sane, rational people...the type who have things to do other than stand around for an entire day."
BTJ
AhAhAhAh!
Now, unlike the show, that's really funny...So even a party to restore sanity to their country should not demand too much effort and sacrifice from the progressives perspective?...That would be like taking time away from the next party I guess, eh BTJ?

...And the live feed says it's already finished...Wow! Memorable! (Vomit!)

Posted by: Right Honourable Terry Tory at October 30, 2010 3:05 PM

"so Kate responds to your point by linking to the superior ratings of Fox versus all others.. ."

Ah yes, the 'Conservative' blog that champions the collective majority...a bad joke.

"the days of the "liberal media" are over. "

And just when exactly was the media 'liberal'? I mean obviously the big business media seeks to appear liberal, because that's their role...to make people think that their information is as 'out there' as it gets, that there is nothing being ignored, that they present the 'complete' story.

Posted by: BTJ at October 30, 2010 3:09 PM

i might be out to lunch on this but what constitutes a large crowd ?

i am total right winger and i don't watch either show they both make me sick.

it seems liek there was alot of people there but i don't know ,and why is everyone up in arms about beck and his crowd ..yes i do happen to think beck is a little wierd but his heart is good he loves his country and he does resonate with people so why is everyone using him a a comparison.

If you want to see the true right wing crowd listen to micheal savage the man get virtually no media coverage and is absolutley hated by the left probly more so than palin and his book trickle up poverty is sitting at number 2 slipping from number on a week ago how does someone do that in politics with no media ...fox news hates him, becasue he doesn't tow the G.O.P. party line or the republican party line he criticises both when needed he agrees with alot of them but he is an independant conservative .

Micheal savage should be where beck is but republicans dont' like the truth anymore than the left wing retards .

bush was good but he was a center president he spent like a wino at a bar running a tab ...and yes so did clinton not to mention clinton starting the whole economic collapse of america by forcing bank's to give stupid high risk mortgages and the greedy capitalist dog's on wall street screwed eevryone they are thieves ...adn then you have george soros who basically put a marxist in the white house . Obozo has let loose his minions and they are well funded and protected and the people smell a rat in america witch created a backlash and that back lash is the tea parties ...and right away they say the tea parties are racist's ...lol there are probly 60% whites in the tea parties and the rest are of all diferent races it seems to me anyway.

I am all for profiling by race or religion i think it is great and the only way to truley protect your nation . I wish we did that here in canada not to mentios sorry to get back on point ..how is sombody a racist if they want a very small govornment? or fiscal responsibility from there govornment? How are people racist if they want there country govorned by there constitution?

Where does race come into play here?

sorry i went on a rant but this is all crap to me all of it and these idiot's up on stage acting like eveything will be o.k. if we all just relax and vote demican or republicrat? you name it they are one in the same (the govornment media complex)

Anyway micheal savage seems to be the only true informed voice right now ..i agree with conservatives like o'reilly, beck, palin, rush, and the lot mark steyn, kathy shadle, kate mcmillan, ezra levant, matt drudge, andrew breightbart.....i want to see people hold themselves and there govornment's accountable in all aspect's of there lives.

People are stupid and are being duped by Big Business.

Just a mindless attack on everything that makes ANY sense at all.

I don't understand the importance of this 'event' at all. A fake newscaster,a fake coservative, both comedic personalities, host a show sprinkled liberally with other entertainers,is somehow a political statement ???

Hell,if I was in the area ,I'd probably stop in for a few hours. This seems to be nothing more than an expensive advertisment for their TV shows.

It is kind of like having a major rock band play in Berlin, and then have a politician come out and make a speech to the crowd and pretend that they came out to hear him.

Posted by: wallyj at October 30, 2010 3:39 PM

The Russian word for Union is Soviet.

Under that system, ownership of the means of production was run by Big Government. That's what is known as State Capitalism.

In the free world, the sum of millions of individual decisions is known as the free market. In that system, individuals create production efficiencies through banding together to form companies.

That leads to Big Business, those who have been most successful in competing in the marketplace. That system is known as Free Market Capitalism.

I'm guessing (and it wouldn't be too much of a stretch, since he does say Big Business is bad), that BTJ favours State Capitalism, or a monopoly of economic production directed by a central committee of those who are smarter than the stupid people.

Apparently, BTJ fancies himself as smarter than everybody ... except those who are worthy of a chair on the central committe. But, he is willing to support the tyranny.

Posted by: set you free at October 30, 2010 3:45 PM

If people are stupid it follows that Big Government is stupid because it is made up of people who are stupid. The same goes for Big Labour.

Oh wait, I figured it out. Some kind of "insert miracle here" thingy happens because, somehow, this vast collection of stupid people becomes super-duper smart and able to save the rest of us dolts. Even if we don't want or need saving.

I was puzzled, after a few minutes,I asked him which news show. He straight faced told me "The Daily Show".

You got it! It was a place to stop and smoke a couple of doobees and have some(?) laughs...A big Obama wet petard the whole turned out to be though. Let me explain:

The disastrous Stewart interview this past week should not have happened; instead, Obama should have been scheduled for a short appearance at today's rally...The attendance and the impact of the message (Whatever it was...Obamabots don't think about issues, they want to see a star) would have been much greater, maybe.
Because of the Stewart interview, Obama showing up today would had been a bad idea...The only thing is that maybe blacks would of come to the mall.

It's going to be historical on Tuesday.

Rather the opposite....not caring about the colour of one's skin is not racist.

"What Kate says and posts here , chooses to highlight or not is Kate’s choice, This IS HER blog!"

I never said otherwise, I simply inquired into her cherry picking.

"It is probably a good bet that there is not a lot of watching of Fox News OR Glenn Beck"

Zero, except for the clips I see on the Daily Show and Colbert Report.

"Just a mindless attack on everything that makes ANY sense at all. "

Make that an attack on mindless nonsense.

"So, why hang out here?"

Because this is supposed to be a Conservative blog...and I value the topics and opinions of Conservative minded people.

Absolute. And it bounces onto the White House lawn, ricochets off Obama's soft head, whereafter it is rocket-propelled through the air until it lands in Fidel's private bathroom and plugs the toilet, and Ahmadinijad who happens to be visiting takes a dump, flushes the toilet and it explodes, hence flinging the Iranian leader into the Caribbean Sea where he is swallowed forever within the Bermuda triangle.

The thing is touted as "The "Rally to Resore Sanity and/or Fear,"?

Where is O's Hope?

Fear* is "a white liver'd-lilly-cheeked, bashful palpitating, awkward hussey".

Where is O's Hope*?

They have discriminated O's Hope*. Why?

Why is O's Hope barred? Why is O's Hope not there?

Racists. Bigoted left-liberal white racists. All of them: 1960's racists even.

Democrat Bull Connor would be proud.

...-

Charles Lamb:

"Hope* is charming, lively, blue-eyed wench, & I am always glad of her company, but could dispense with the visitor she brings with her, her younger sister, fear*, a white liver'd-lilly-cheeked, bashful palpitating, awkward hussey that hangs like a green girl at her sister's apron strings & will go with her whithersoever she goes."

Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear is a stupid title. Whoever came up with it couldn't figure out whether he was trying to be ironic or not.

Posted by: Black Mamba at October 30, 2010 5:17 PM

I have to admit that I'm not aware except in the most superficial sense of Stewart and Colbert; I haven't watched them. But I'm puzzled by the rally. What is its agenda?

A theme of "Restoring Sanity and/or Fear' is, frankly, to me at least..incomprehensible.

What does 'sanity' mean? After all, it is an evaluation. Therefore, what are the criteria that defines when one is 'sane'? And what does 'sanity and fear' mean? And 'sanity or fear'? I don't get the meaning of these phrases.

As for a rally, it seems to be primarily a rock concert. Why call it a rally? Was anything discussed? At Beck's rally - there were a lot of issues outlined and discussed.

Richard's rebuttal to the rally organizers, trying to prevent him from filming on public property was excellent.

Meh. I watched the rally, and as an entertainment program it committed the cardinal sin of being fairly boring.

But it was hardly controversial, or terribly leftist. It was nice to see them open with a non-ironic singing of the national anthem, and close with a non-ironic singing of America the Beautiful.

In between it was mostly bits that fell pretty flat. Stewart's speech at the end was largely about how even though we have our differences, most real Americans go about their lives and get along just fine. I was surprised that there was not a lot of liberal speechifying... but there wasn't.

Basically, lots of build-up and expectation of controversy... and the end result was ho-hum both in terms of entertainment value and in terms of controversy.

Posted by: Quint at October 30, 2010 5:38 PM

Stewart and Colbert never claimed this was going to be a political rally.

In the immortal words of the Raven, spoken through Edgar Allan Poe: Nevermore.

A couple of middle-aged gals interviewed at the rally said it was political.

A much younger gal said it was a party and a chance to have some fun.

Big Trolling Jerk:

Funny how a so called 'Conservative' blog puts so much clout in the collective.

What kind of nonsense is this? First off, what does he mean "puts so much clout in"? That doesn't even parse properly. What exactly is the collective he refers to? What exactly is this collective doing? He repeats this assertion in a number of posts, but never explains what it means.

He first made this ludicrous and essentially meaningless statement in response to two posts that made fun of the tiny turnout at the Leibovitz/Colbert event, as if the entire conservative argument is "we're bigger than you".

Let me educate you: the difference is Glenn Beck and crew did not pay for buses to ship people in from New York City, or from anywhere else for that matter. Arianna Huffington did exactly that for the LC event. But even with free buses, they can't even come close to the number of people that made their own way to Beck's rally.

And that's important, because Leibovitz constantly reminds us that the Tea Party is a "fringe movement" and out of touch with the mainstream voters. But the Tea Party was able to bring out over 100,000 people, while, despite weeks of promotion on two shows, Leibovitz and Colbert couldn't even attract the number of attendees of a regular season Maple Leafs' game.

This lefty meme that conservative movements are "angry", and "white", and "fringe", and "out of touch" is getting tiresome. We just had a massive repudiation of it in Toronto (and the excellent analysis in the National Post showed that while Smitherman won most of the downtown polls, Ford still received over 80,000 votes from the 13 "downtown" wards, putting paid to the contention that the vote was polarized). Tuesday is going to be another day of shock for the Democrats - just as they couldn't, despite free concerts and buses, attract a crowd to Washington, they're not going to get their lazy, self-indulgent supporters out to the polls.

"what does he mean "puts so much clout in"?"

Clout as in power, pull, influence.

"What exactly is the collective he refers to?"

The collective as in a collection of people...for example, the collective majority. Number don't mean squat...2+2=5 will never be correct no matter how many people say so.

"as if the entire conservative argument is "we're bigger than you". "

I don't recall ever implying that it's the ENTIRE argument, but it was argued a number of times.

"the difference is Glenn Beck and crew did not pay for buses to ship people in from New York City, or from anywhere else for that matter. Arianna Huffington did exactly that for the LC event. Hahahaha! Too funny. You argue that numbers isn't the entire argument, and then you follow it up by making a 'bigger than' argument!

Once again, seeking power in the collective.

I'm afriad that you're merely proving my point. If the most succesful media is the "righty one", that means it has the most viewers, therefore the most money and power.

As Kate helpfully displayed, the media is totally dominated by the right. Therefore, the idea of the liberal 'lamestream' media is a lie (always has been).

As for me being a racist, it is you who aligns yourself with proven racists such as Beck, Limabugh, etc. Not me.

"And just when exactly was the media 'liberal'? I mean obviously the big business media seeks to appear liberal, because that's their role"

Oh yes, I know, BTJ: I was referring the purposefully created myth (or lie) that the media if or has ever been liberal. I mean, the media's owned by the multi-million dollar congomerates that all the SDA-ers here spend their lives shilling for and sucking up to (in hopes a few crumbs might drop off the table for them!). They love to whine and whinge and play the victim and the 'liberal media' lie allows them that.

Except when objective reality disproves their lie. Oops! Now what? Gonna hafta ind something else to whine and play the victim about guys! :)

Democrat run media is all over the rally like a bad rash, yet when the Tea Party had hundreds of thousands attend their event the Liberal Media didn't report the story or lied and said a few hundred showed up. Liberal Media are getting a wee bit hysterical and hoping they can turn things around for Obamanation.

Posted by: Rose at October 30, 2010 7:01 PM

BJT - "Once again, seeking power in the collective"

You seem to find it ironic for a conservative blog to put value in crowd size. This isn't collectivism. It's democracy. This system of government led to Obama being elected. It's now leading to the ousting of many Democrats on November 2nd.

In the Tea Party, we're seeing a spontaneous rejection of liberal media, and a rejection of the Democrat agenda. Even Democrat candidates are campaigning against Obama/Pelosi in this year's mid-terms.

I wouldn't call the Tea Party a collective. More of a "community", held together by modern social media, and inspired by the Founding Fathers and the Tea Party Manifesto.

I guess that makes Glenn Beck a "community organizer".

"A quote from Political Wire provides some insight into the crisis within the Left:

An AP-Knowledge Networks poll finds that 47% of Democrats think Presidential Obama should be challenged for the 2012 Democratic presidential nomination while 51% say he should not be opposed.

“A real Democratic challenge to Obama seems unlikely at this stage and his re-election bid is a long way off. But the findings underscore how disenchanted his party has grown heading into the congressional elections Tuesday.”

This of course means Hillary. There may now be two blazing rebellions, one within each political party. Inside the Democratic Party it is an elite contest between Clinton and Obama, and through them the various factions within: the not so Left and the really, really Left. The other is within the Republican Party which features a grassroots insurgency versus its establishment. Don’t kid yourself: the Republican establishment’s animus towards the Johnnies come lately is real and bitter. There’s a real fight.

But the old system is unquestionably under challenge. There must be some significance to the fact the two largest political rallies in DC were run by a talk show host and a comedian respectively. One pundit recently wrote, ‘where once the jesters came to the king, now the king comes to the jester’. Or maybe he meant the joker.

Washington in December will be like a city awaiting a great event, of which the consequences of the election is a part but only a part. Its whole universe appears to be crumbling. Fear at losing careers, uncertainty over the future, the possibility of supply — all of these add to the atmosphere of suspense in the capital. 2010 was only the opening. The game really gets going in 2011."

"* THE EVE OF WATERLOO

by: Lord Byron (1788-1824)

HERE was a sound of revelry by night,
And Belgium's capital had gathered then
Her beauty and her chivalry, and bright
The lamps shone o'er fair women and brave men.
A thousand hearts beat happily; and when
Music arose with its voluptuous swell,
Soft eyes looked love to eyes which spake again,
And all went merry as a marriage bell;
But hush! hark! a deep sound strikes like a rising knell!

Did ye not hear it?"

Hahahaha! Too funny. You argue that numbers isn't the entire argument, and then you follow it up by making a 'bigger than' argument!

Only to your tiny and fixated mind. My point, and I will try to make it slowly and simply so you can keep up is:

1 - People had to make their own way to the Glen Beck rally. People at the LC fest had buses provided.

2 - The people at the Glen Beck rally had to make an effort to get there. Many of the people at the LC event just had to get to midtown Manhattan.

3 - This shows that the commitment of the left is a mile wide and an inch deep. Ford got his vote out; Smitherman couldn't. Beck gets people to come to his rally; LC couldn't. The Republicans/Tea Party/anti-Democrats/whatever will get out the vote on Tuesday; the Democrats won't. Far from being people "with nothing to do all day", these conservatives you sneer at are the people who actually show up and get things done. That is what our "numbers" argument is about - it's solid evidence that the left whines but won't even go to a party led by their two most popular cheerleaders, while the right makes the commitment, and then makes the effort.

And don't give us that canard that the Tea Party is all old, angry white men. From a Gallup poll held this spring:
(First number will be Tea Party supporters, second will be US population)

Age
18-29 16% 17%
30-49 34 36
50-64 29 27
65+ 21 20

Education
No college 34 35
Some college 34 32
College grad 16 17
Post grad 15 16

Race
Non-Hispanic White 79 75
Non-Hispanic Black 6 11
Other 15 15

(not all numbers add to 100 due to rounding)

102 comments (and counting) about an event that folks here insist was pathetic and meaningless. But hey, it's an opportunity to mock liberals -- and isn't that what SDA-style political enlightenment is all about?

Meanwhile, despite an encouraging amount of populist rage just a short year or two ago over the cozy relationship between government and the corporate world, nobody around here seems much bothered these days about this:

"Another distinguishing feature of this year’s political spending is the growing heft of outside groups. Such independent non-party organizations have spent $284-million on federal races, tilted heavily toward conservative candidates, according to the Center for Responsive Politics. These groups are on track to spend more than they did in the 2008 presidential campaign and have quadrupled their outlay from the last midterm vote.

"Advocates for campaign-finance reform say the money flowing into these groups is the natural outcome of a decision by the U.S. Supreme Court early this year in a case called Citizens United v. Federal Election Committee. The ruling struck down laws that limited independent spending by corporations and unions.

"“We not only have more money than ever [being spent], but we don’t know where it’s coming from,” says Craig Holman, a lobbyist for the non-profit group Public Citizen and an expert on campaign finance. “Our whole system of regulating and publicly disclosing money in politics has completely fallen apart.”"

Posted by: Davenport at October 31, 2010 12:19 AM

Well, Davenport, in three days about 50 million people are going to comment about how pathetic and meaningless the rally was.

So, tens of thousands of LIEBERALS show up for a rally pretending to be non-partisan moderates. Not surprising since Stewart is a left wing phony reporter and left wing Colbert is a phony right wing pundit. Real liberal groups are calling this a rally of "slacktivists" who lack the balls to admit who they are. For once, I agree.

Democrats outraised Republicans in this election year. The top campaign donors consist mostly of labor unions who give nearly 100% of their contributions to Demon Rats. Goldman Sachs gives predominantly to Demon Rats. The rest of the top ten generally divides the contributions.

When your data sources are left wing, expect left wing biased results.

kevinb- thanks for your statistical breakdown of the composition of the Tea Party Movement and that of the general US population.

It shows that the composition of the two is statistically similar, except that there are fewer blacks in the movement than in the population. I am presuming that Asians, who figure quite obviously in the Tea Party, are defined under 'other'.

The reason for the fewer blacks is, unfortunately, almost entirely due to the effects of Affirmative Action, NAACP and other such organizations, which have all combined to pressure black people into a collectivist mindset, focused around victimization and government dependency.

Obama, after all, himself spent 20 years in a propaganda setting, the 'Rev Wright's preaching of black liberation theology, which is entirely focused around collective guilt (white) and collective victimization (black) and the need for retribution.

The Tea Party is focused not around the collective but around the freedom and responsibility of the individual. Blacks, having been brainswashed against these values, find it very hard to go against their community, having to endure name-calling etc, if they move out of the ideology of black liberation theology.

But it is interesting and important to see how closely the Tea Parties reflect the normative demographics of America.

I just wish he'd be a little less creepily obsessed with conservative women like Kate and Palin. He imitates the part of a liberal loser in his mom's basement having a hate-on for attractive and decent women who'd never give him the time of day a little TOO well for my theory to really work.

I personally know some of the people who attended. They're the type of people also attended the big "peace" (aka anti-Bush) rallies in the not-too-distant past. they'll go to any left-wing rally at the drop of a hat, the way normal people go to concerts.
