(In case you missed it - "Demon Sheep")
Posted by Kate at September 5, 2010 2:47 PMUmmm, wow....I'd still vote for Fein.
Posted by: SDH at September 5, 2010 3:24 PMHard to say whether this or Demon Sheep should get it, but sure one of them deserves the Oscar " Best Documentary - Short Subject ".
Actually, there needs to be a whole new Oscar category: Best unique and satiric use of a public servant's record against them.
Posted by: small c conservative at September 5, 2010 3:40 PMCool as hell. Gotta love it!!!
Posted by: Patsplace at September 5, 2010 3:56 PMWhat a Fein woman she is!
What a Fein Representative she will be.
Now she should do one where the Airplane! of State is about to crash due to the poison of bad ideology and fish, and the GOP is a washed-up fighter pilot who needs to conquer his shattered nerves and win back the love of his ex-girlfriend, Ellie Ctorate, in order to steer the flght to safety...
"America's in grave danger!"
"What is it?"
"It's a big country founded on Constitutional Freedoms and the principles laid out in the Declaration of Independence, but that's not important right now..."
Or maybe:
Barack Obama picked the wrong Presidency to quit smoking!
Posted by: Black Mamba at September 5, 2010 4:28 PMOff topic....I was wondering where to go on line to donate $$$ to help out the victims of the earth quake in New Zealand,is the government going to match donations, are we going to send our DART, how about relief supplies?? AHHH so many questions and I can't find answers.
Posted by: Rob C at September 5, 2010 5:40 PMA politician doing an her own acting in an ad. Yup, must be California.
Posted by: Revnant Dream at September 5, 2010 6:09 PMSrsly, WTF? I don't take that seriously.
Posted by: Erik Larsen at September 5, 2010 6:23 PMDon't care, I'd voting for her. Love it...
Posted by: orlin of Marquette at September 5, 2010 7:02 PMWorst political ad I've even seen, and by many orders of magnitude. Just horrifyingly stupid, on so many levels. If I was a Republican voter living in California, I couldn't mark my ballot for that woman even if I held my nose. Republicans in her constituency must be clapping their palms to their foreheads. Wow.
Start with the opening scene of "dual-use technology"Frankenstein: the little info-blurb under the video explains that Mattie Fein's opponent owns shares in Harman International, see, which owns AKG Acoustics (for those who don't know AKG makes superb microphones, including the C-414 which has been used all over the world, in almost every recording studio for decades) and states that "much of this technology is dual-use in nature, capable of civilian or military applications."
Huh? Are there any microphones on earth that aren't "capable of military applications"? Is there such a thing as a mic/headphone that will shut itself off if the Iranian military tries to use it? I mean, we're not talking about weapons technology, we're talking about microphones being sold in Iran via one distributor or another. How many other western companies distribute non-military-use products - chocolate, clothing, audio equipment, kitchen products, etc etc - in Iran? Thousands?
The ad shows "Jane Harman" saying to Dual-use technology Frankenstein "They were going to keep you from Iran! I am going to help you!"
Guhh. Dumb dumb dumb. Desperately dumb, and self-indulgent, embarrassing, and counterproductive.
Must be something in the water in California....

Posted by: Simeon at September 5, 2010 8:34 PMThe sheep ad was ridiculously silly and embarrassing. This one is clever and entertaining. It's actually something that will attract peoples' attention.
Posted by: scf at September 5, 2010 8:36 PM@ ROB C
They are white there is no chance anyone will be helping them out but themselves i am sure . but the politically correct answer is that canada is over stretched with the helping of haiti, and pakistan , and so many others that we just can't spare one dime for our white allies.
Posted by: paul in calgary at September 5, 2010 11:13 PMI could never vote for a candidate, no matter what policies they espoused, who had such a lack of judgment as to think that was acceptable.
And if I had made a donation to the campaign, and it went towards that garbage, I would demand my money back.
So she's not "The Actors Studio" enough.
With all due respect, who do you vote for if not the vampire slayer?
Posted by: richfisher at September 6, 2010 12:05 AMGood stuff, Black Mamba, good stuff.
