What's with the white kid in the middle front row?
Did they photoshop a pic from an Arkansas hospital just to make it politically correct?
I guess that's why Prince Charles wants Shariah law. There are enough cousin marriages in his genes that he can relate to them.

Recessive disorders and consanguineous marriage

Of course, we're just very polite about it
and elsewhere, it has been reported that sheep in England are calmer.
Variations on the theme:

In Korea cultural norms once (and maybe still do) prohibited marriage between men and women who had the same surnames even though the total number of surnames was very small and the chance of having a common but unknown ancestor very remote.

Indeed.....haemophilia especially...Kaiser Bill's withered arm...
Lynch-mob-killing-Sialkot-
Not an isolated incident....
Saw a "purse-snatcher" do a grab and run in kenya....somebody yelled stop thief and he was pusued by all and sundry. He tripped and was pulverized by what-ever was at hand.
The thief thought to be from the capital made a tactical error of doing his trade amongst recent migrants from the hinterlands...who took such crime seriously. Where in the capital such would be ignored even condoned.....with these folk justice was swift and brutal.....
When in Rome....I didn't see nuthin.....just keep walkin'......
British version of dueling banjos?
Dueling bagpipes; a savage piece of music so irritating to listeners that it has never been completly played out.
Buggerlugs knows it well and often hums it soto voce
First cousin marriages were banned in Rome in 381 AD and the practice was very nearly unheard of except in some areas in the Western world by the 19th century.
England had dispensation for these marriages, mostly to accommodate royalty. A few US states did not get around to banning it until the second half of the 20th century. Texas was last, even though the incidences were rare, they made it law.
Does this explain some of the differences in the
progress of the middle east countries where half of marriages are between relatives?
In the past, sda has posted a link showing the Muslim countries surrounding Israel to have an average IQ of about 70 -75 while Israel has an average of 120 (I hope I remember correctly!) Inter-marriage also causes mental abnormalities as well as physical ones. This is why Israel keeps winning the wars which their neighbours start!
Posted by: Johanne at August 22, 2010 8:52 PMYawn,
There are much bigger issues with Islam than the fact that they find incestous relationships "easier" to facilitate. Like child and female abuse, a penchant for pedophillia and other disgusting cultural sexual practices.
You say cousin marriage is not ethical and they look at you like you are from the moon (naive to begin with).

I have lived and worked in the Middle East and Africa for enough years yo have a pretty good handle on the average IQ's including intelligence levels of the mainstream.
This is the only reason and proof I have for believing that Aliens built the pyramids. Otherwise it would be ludicrous, but seeing is believing. If you illiminate all other possibilities, the solution however improbable stands before you. Yup, aliens.

Posted by: LT at August 22, 2010 9:19 PMMakes you wonder who the parents and grandparents of these first cousins married!?!
Posted by: Blame Crash at August 22, 2010 9:19 PMToo bad that governments, especially the British, are hesitant to intrude on family decisions. It is not like cousin-parents are doing something dangerous that might require government oversight like allowing friends to babysit for eachother.
Posted by: LC Bennett at August 22, 2010 9:22 PMHow could anyone treat our young Pakistani men like this?
A horrifying video of a crowd watching a mob beat two teenage brothers suspected of robbery to death has sparked mass demonstrations in Pakistan. The video, broadcast on Pakistani news channels, shows a lynch mob taking turns savagely beating the two boys with sticks, drawing blood from them before dragging and hanging their dead bodies from a nearby pole.
But...
Stoning a 13 year old Afghanistan girl for being raped is not worth watching,
even after digging her up to have a rerun..
Whats on the soccer channel?
"How could anyone treat our young Pakistani men like this?"
What, are they tired of watching the flood victims drowning?
Posted by: Fred at August 22, 2010 10:09 PMI don't believe I've yet heard the term "incest" used here yet. Perhaps by definition it not so, but the propinquity of the blood makes this not just unhealthy, but probably, sinful; at least in most Christian circles.

Posted by: larben at August 22, 2010 10:23 PMOh well.
The marriage between first cousins is common in majority of Muslim countries. That's why there mandatory premarital screening test followed by non-directive genetic counselling in Saudi Arabia. And there are similar screening programes in Jordania, Tunesia, Bahrain, and UAE. Not that the couples follow the advice of doctors - from what I know, cousins (even with high probability of genetical disorders in children) still marry in Saudi Arabia. I think the same happens in other gulf states, not only because of tribal mentality but also because of citizenship laws in Saudi Arabia and other gulf states.
The problem before was confined to Muslim countries, but now--- well--- it isn't.
Oopsa-daisy, my bad!
Posted by: larben at August 22, 2010 10:25 PMSo maybe Mark Steyn's "America Alone" thesis becomes less alarming when it turns out that the fourth generation of the invader demographic has one eye, half a leg and the IQ of a houseplant.
Posted by: nv53 at August 23, 2010 1:25 AMThe liberal intelligentsia seem to derive a great deal of satisfaction casting their aspersions upon rural people, those provincial rubes, almost invariably bringing up some variation of the incest reference. Yet among these Muslim populations, we see that incest is more than just common, it represents the majority of marriages. So when can we expect our same left wing betters to lob some of their laser-guided snark at Muslim cousin humpin'?
My guess? Never.
All the same would-be iconoclasts in media, who never shy away from the opportunity to impugn and ridicule Christianity and traditionalism in general, are notably feckless in the face of things Islamic. In the early 90s there was the infamous "Piss Christ" being touted as art. Where is "Piss Mohammad"? The TV show South Park is thwarted any time they attempt to even depict Mohammad, but to their credit in the exact same episode they deftly put an exclamation point on the hypocrisy with completely over the top depictions of other religious figures. The same network that censors South Park has no qualms, however, about green lighting an entire series premised on Christ as a young slacker dealing with being overshadowed by "his dad". The explanation of this selective kid glove treatment is actually pretty simple - Muslims threaten violence. So the vaunted edginess and artistic purity of the Left's scathing social critiques goes by the wayside, underscoring the obvious fact that their gutsy, in-your-face hostility applies exclusively to those targets that quit being a threat to them decades ago. Bravo, such heroic standard bearers of intellectual freedom. Cowardice, plain and simple. It's what motivates this hand holding and blowing kisses at Islamofascism, and they have the nerve (with matching ego) to couch this cowardice as worldly sophistication and moral superiority. Ha! The jihadis know exactly who the soft underbelly of Western decadence are, and they play them like an organ grinder.

i) Polygamy

v) Female genital mutilation
why does the article only show white babies ,one with red hair even? that is totally misleading ...again political correctness at work don't want to offend the cousin kissers!!!

Posted by: Paul at August 23, 2010 8:01 AMHistorically ethnic groups that partake of blood marrages usually end up destroying their entire race via some desease that effects only that subgroup, it's happened before and it'll happen again if Europe doesn't clamp down on the inbreeding of those who partake of blood marrages.

Blood marriages are a feature not a bug.

royalty is the oldest existing social structure to practice 1st cousin marriage. looks good on them.

Queen Elizabeth and Phil are 2nd cousins but 2nd cousin marriages are common in many cultures.
