"The tingling legs are gone"

Now we will see the real Obama. Does he have the character to persevere with soon to be 40% something approval ratings, an angry base, a fleeing media, and an organized, energized opposition? Or is it to be two more years of golfing, Bush did it, Martha’s Vineyard, blame the limb-lopping surgeons, beer summits, killing time in preparation for a $50 million a year, Mandela-like, globe-trotting post-presidency.

Great article. Along the same lines...Nile Gardiner of the Telegraph hits the Obama nail on the HEAD!

Victor Davis Hanson is definitely unique.

It is a pity that we have the lunitic fringe elitists in charge rather than the pragmatic thinkers. More Harry Trumans and Eisenhowers rather than the Woodrow Wilson dreamers and schemers.

Along those same lines-

Poor Al.

Gore, the leader of the global warming alarmist movement, told supporters during an Aug. 10 conference call that despite his best efforts to inspire fear over this issue or else it is the end of civilization, the battle has been lost for the time being. He placed blame solely on the U.S. government, specifically the Senate, controlled by Democratic Majority Leader Harry Reid, Nevada.

My biggest fear now is that he will gain weight and start using male masseurs.

This reminds me of the old line about the rats leaving the sinking ship.

sasquatch, your are right. Students, including one of my son-in-laws, are fed this Woodrow Wilson nonsense in university.

Yes, poor, poor Al Gore. Too bad David Suzuki does not take his profits and ride off into the sunset.

Also, read comment #15 on VDH's post by proreason. It's perfect. He writes:

"The problem is the overweening deceit. Most on this site knew that it was all a fraud and that the so-called moderate blank-slate was just barely below the surface a rigid, hard-core marxist who was conceived in a communist womb and raised with radical marxism served at every meal. We were right, 1000% right. Perhaps if he had just downplayed it we wouldn’t be in the rage that we are in; but no, it was an active, intricate campaign of deceit. It’s as if they investigated every snearing trick from the country’s history and packed them all into a 2-year campaign of lies not seen since the 1930’s.

But even that was not enough. It wasn’t enough to seize power by stomping on the good will of an honorable people. It wasn’t enough to destroy the lives of millions of seniors by trashing the economy. It wasn’t enough to slander the motives, capabilities, intelligence and performance of a patriot like President Bush. Barely before the thugs were in office, it was as if they were sprinting to cram their most heinous wet dreams down our throats. Gitmo, the auto industry, the $800 billion union payoff. And then the apology tours where the very essence of the country was trashed, held up to ridicule, and basically the world was told that history can now start, now that a lying corrupt thug who has never done a day’s worth of his work in his life had somehow grabbed the controls of the greatest country that has every existed.

Oh, we’re pissed off, alright. We’re “led” by a narcissistic adolescent whose mission in life seems to be punishing a country for some long-forgotten slight he endured because of his color, or his religion, or his sexuality, or who knows what. Nobody but God knows what it is, because he isn’t just a liar, his life is lie. Every word is a lie. He might occasionally say something that is not a lie, but who could ever filter a kernel of truth from a silo of lies".

I like the descriptions of Obama as a 'lying corrupt thug who has never done a day's work in his life' and 'narcissistic adolescent'. Perfect.

Did anyone ever tell Chris Matthews that "tingling" in the limbs can be a symptomy of the onset of MS?

No?

OK, good.

Then just keep yer mouth shut...

"...who could ever filter a kernel of truth from a silo of lies".

Great metaphor! Especially appreciated by those of us who live in flyover country.

I guess Chris Mathews discovered that the tingling sensation in his leg was not the result of hopey changey orgasm. It was actually genetic Dem weak bladder syndrome (bed wetter) interacting with the current running through the Mic he was holding.

In other words, does he have the guts and humility to accept the fact his policies are wrong and that he should have the courage and patriotism to do at least a Bill Clinton and move to the center of politics?
No!
First of all, its way too late to simply move to the center and keep this Titanic size Government afloat within shutting down the already overheating and on the verge of seezing up money press. He would need to do a Margaret Thatcher x 10...Ain't gonna happen. Im not even sure the Republicans have someone with that much guts right now...
Secondly, Barry is far removed from being humble and most of all, patriotic.

So that leaves the extravagant parties, golf and fun fun fun and adulation...Like I said all along.

But, he might resign too at some point...If things deteriorates bad enough that even the Joy Behars or Chris Matthews dont want to be seen with him; If he becomes 'isolated' like OJ Simpson became for different reasons, it must be said; that if Obama looses adulation to feed his narcissism and a major opertunity pops up (I can see him end up as a voxbox for the UN)he might just jump...
With Barry, its all about Barry. The love of self easily trumps love of country, especially if you despise your country to begin with.

Obama is as misguided as the teenage rebel wearing the Che Guavara shirt...Very said for a 48 year old man of his supposebly educated position.

Posted by: Right Honourable Terry Tory at August 13, 2010 11:50 AM

The other reason Barry will not move to the right is that he has no capacity and not grid to govern from there. He has no moral compass, he idea on how to start, run or maintain a business and look after families through his hard work and ingenuity.
Obama has always relied on the wealth created by others to live his lifestyle. He has smooth-talked and batted his eyelashes to make his living, knowing which cow to milk next.

Obama is a Jersey Maid, extraordinaire!!!

"Obama is as misguided as the teenage rebel wearing the Che Guavara shirt"

Bingo

He is a "common" Chicago street thug that managed to breakout with the help of Hollywood and a Teleprompter. No Loyalty, No decency, No integrity... NO ability except pitting everyone against each other, AKA Gang survival

I think Glen Beck opened the window on the sick mind of a micromanaging POTUS

Chris Mathews. Always having problems with his gerbils.

Obama and the White House just released this statement on the month of Ramadan:

"These rituals remind us of the principles that we hold in common, and Islam’s role in advancing justice, progress, tolerance, and the dignity of all human beings. Ramadan is a celebration of a faith known for great diversity and racial equality. And here in the United States, Ramadan is a reminder that Islam has always been part of America and that American Muslims have made extraordinary contributions to our country. And today, I want to extend my best wishes to the 1.5 billion Muslims around the world – and your families and friends – as you welcome the beginning of Ramadan.

I look forward to hosting an Iftar dinner celebrating Ramadan here at the White House later this week, and wish you a blessed month."

I particularly like Obama's statement of "Islam’s role in advancing justice, progress, tolerance, and the dignity of all human beings. Ramadan is a celebration of a faith known for great diversity and racial equality."
Incredible. Not a single descriptive phrase has any truth, any validity. Not one.

Oh, and his statement about the 'extraordinary contributions' made by Muslims to our society. Could he provide one, just one, example? Just one?

Remember Obama's reference in 2008 to people who 'cling to religion' (and he meant Christianity).

My own view is that Obama has no religion; as a malignant narcissist, he only refers to himself. But I'd suggest that his emotional attachments to the rituals of religion are to Islam, for two years of his childhood upbringing, via his Muslim stepfather, was at a Wahhabi school in Indonesia.

His 20 years at the Rev. Wright's anti-white, anti-American 'church' was due to his wife Michelle's attachment to Wright's racism and anti-Americanism. Obama, despite being a narcissist, is also always dominated by a strong woman (mother, grandmother, wife).

»...that American Muslims have made extraordinary contributions to our country.»

Can anyone name me one of those »extraordinary » contributions ???

Wasn't that basketball player pretty good?

Posted by: Peter O'Donnell at August 13, 2010 6:33 PM

So now he supports what is called the Ground Zero mosque. Will that be the nail in his coffin I wonder.
ET nails him, as usual. Wish she had a crystal ball to tell us what else we can expect from him!

Posted by: gellen at August 13, 2010 9:35 PM

Didn't Muhammad Ali (Cassius Clay)claim that he wouldn't go to fight in Viet Nam because his new Muslim faith was opposed to war? Gee, isn't that a contribution to world peace? Why is he now a blithering idiot? Oh yeah, from pounding the crap our of dozens of competitors (and taking a few himself) Peace Bro!

Posted by: larben at August 13, 2010 9:47 PM

I'm thinking Obama's speaking of great muslim contributions to America as being

Mohammed Ali
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
and the Kenyan himself

Posted by: cal2 at August 13, 2010 11:38 PM

Obama and his posse may want to ride out the next two years in languorous detached bliss and then resign and blame a right-wing racist conspiracy for having brain-washed the dimwitted public into making it impossible for him to remain POTUS for four more years, but he will not be able to.

Events will prevent it.

Events like the imminent crisis in the middle east where a survey of experts in the field give it a greater than fifty percent chance that Israel (or someone else) will strike at irans nuke facilities.

He will not be able to dodge events.

And I fear he will fail miserably in his response to those events. And it will be a response because he is incapable of being proactive.

2012 can't come soon enough.
