But does Prime Minister Harper agree?

That's the big question about any post-2011 Canadian Forces' Afghan mission:

Parliament decides.

Open vote, no whipping.

Good idea Fred. I expect though, that more than a few Dippers and left/libs would like to see more nose jobs and young school girls with acid face jobs. Its their culture don't you know.

Then the blood of the Taliban's victims will be on their hands, but then socialists & Liberals tend to support bloody regimes like China & Cuba without suffering much angst.

Afghanistan should be no different for them.

I thought they did have a vote. you know it's not like you can just say," the hell with it let's just stay awhile longer", like your vacation or even a business trip. There is a lot of logistics involved in keeping boots on the ground.

The way its looking, will soon need the troops to protect the Home Land from Islamist colonists that have colonized the West as an act of Dawa.

Any extension will involve a re-drawing of the rules of operation. The Liberals will insist on it and will have popular support. The worst-case scenario is that we impose a clumsy set of restrictions that leave our soldiers as Taliban targets and PR victories. The net result is that we come back two years later, defeated instead of coming back this year, successful.

The key is this. We should not stay if the rules of engagement on our armed forces:
A. leave us vulnerable to attack or strategically hobbled
or
B. leave us ineffective.

As an aside, Ramadan begins tomorrow.
Keep your womenfolk and livestock inside after sunset.

Could be a set up for an referendum disguised as an election.

There will be plenty for the Canadian Forces to do,
in 2011 and beyond. Unless we lose, the war will
continue for the next hundred years at least.
It is not a bad idea for the Canadian Forces to
pull back for rebuilding.

It is sensible to avoid the mischief which the
Moonbat Messiah will wreak on Afstan and elsewhere.

Cutting and running is not the Canadian way. But
while we can take care of the enemy, we can't get anywhere
until the Americans sort out
the internal conflicts between
leftists and conservatives.
When a strong conservative goernment emerges in the US,
probably with Sarah Palin in 2012, then is the time
to give it everything we've got.

The war is un-winnable under the current ROE.

Get our troops out of Afghanistan. They are seen as Christian invaders not as liberators. The Afghan situation is nothing like the liberation of Europe in WW2. The Afghans don't want us there, they consider all non Muslims as infidels. There is no Muslim condemnation of terrorist attacks because the Muslim world tacitly supports any action that drives non-Muslims from Muslim countries.

If the UN wants to send a peacekeeping force, it has to be troops from Muslim countries.

Close our borders to immigration from any country that does not condemn Muslim terrorists.

Sure we should just come home like the dutch - not capitalized on purpose- then everything will be fine. Peace will break out and everyone will get a pony. The Muslims will rise up against this insane behavior within their religion and Jake Layton will finally be Prime Minister.

Regardless if we stay or go - but worse in the long run if we go - this madness will continue until we kill it or it kills us.

The NDP have a long history of wimpdom they did not support the 604 men who died on the beaches of Normandy on an cold wet morning 64 years ago.
But what do expect from a group of people off their medication who put Jake Layton in charge of themselves.

"Get our troops out of Afghanistan. They are seen as Christian invaders not as liberators."
Says WHO? The Taliban? Our Lefty PC loosers? Our forces are welcomed there. It's just like any other Guerilla war. You can't easily tell who the enemy is. No uniforms.
As Usamma said: " my people will back the stronger horse". I hate to think of the consequences if the big "O" acts as predicted.
