A Globe & Mail Poll

...goes horribly wrong

So that's it then, being a democracy, the Globe and Mail will begin agitating for the majority view on this little poll, I mean we can't just call for another poll and another wording to get the results we want.

Just one more piece of evidence that the majority of Canadians are un-Canadian.

Posted by: EBD at July 27, 2010 1:15 AM

EBD, doesn't this just mean that a poll has been gamed.

Look at the question - what does it actually mean?

The only people interested in the subject would likely be those that stand to benefit from "a certain vote". So logically, from a political standpoint (a "political standpoint" is always easy to see) you arrange the questions to your liking or restrict them to your preferred constituencies.

In some areas, and in some situations, this is called Gerrymandering. It's really unethical unless the outcome agrees with you.

Al Gore may have invented the internet but I gerrymandered it muahahaha. Fear my Wilsonian rejuristictioning prowess!

I think the poll is sufficiently vague that both the employment equity goes too far and it doesn't go too far enough camps are probably voting yes. Though at least finally this whole idea of affirmative action thing is being scrutinized though personally I'd love to have a job i didn't deserve so I could flounder and fail at it though. It'd be good for the old resume.

Buhahahahah, that democracy stuff sure sucks huh?
Don't the proles know by now what they're supposed to be thinking?

Does this mean that those of us over 70 will not get priority at the cemetery? What a first class bunch of jerks at the G&M!

Posted by: melwilde at July 27, 2010 8:00 AM

All this stuff came in when I was a kid. At the time it seemed to make some sense. But as time progressed it made less sense. So whatever white male privledge that existed when I was a child was fading by the time I started working and is completley gone.

So I look at my young son and daughter and I truely feel that each of them has an equal chance vis a vis each other. But I am concerned that my son in particular will face obstacles that were unthinkable to me, that he WONT get something because he is white and male....so how long did that take? From me having alleged absolute privelege to my son facing prejudice? About 35 years....

End it all, if it was ever really needed before it isnt anymore. It needs to happen fast before you end up generating a generation of people who have a legitimate complaint.

There is another poll at G&M

We should all vote

Don't hold your breath waiting for reform of official racism. Canada has a history of ignoring majority will for the dictates of a social engineering agenda.

Occam's disposable Razor

Not so much as a history.....this phenomina began during the MacKenzie King/C.D. Howe years....they not just packed the Senate with lefty LIBRANOs but the snivel service as well.

Revenue Canada and Justice are still Marxist conspiracies.....

Canada's ruling class histoty is that of social control - always developing methods or mechanisms to offset the power of a democratic majority in geference to the illuminated oligarchy.

Affirmative action was a natural control device because it was a way of excluding the majority from the workunfs of public service. It was the mechaniism by which we have now realized a tyranny of the minority - a complete undermining of populist democracy and vox populi.

Canada's ruling clas has a;ways feared the majority will and have always had contempt for popular opinion and will, calling it 'mob' rule.

Canada, subsequently has always had a very limited Democracy with public participation in policy making limited to near zero.

Stephen: " ... so how long did that take? From me having alleged absolute privelege to my son facing prejudice? About 35 years...."

Yeah, and those 35 years coincide with the Librano hegemony. This is the legacy that Trudeaupia has bequeathed to Canadians.

I never voted for him, not once. I could see the writing on the wall when the Pirouetting Pipsqueak did his merry dance while giving the finger to us plebs and telling us to Fuddle-Duddle off. He was always a Mount Royal Socialist, happy to give away OUR hard-earned dollars to ne'er-do-well special interest groups who would vote for him and his party. And, yet, Canadians seemed anxious to drink the lead-me-anywhere-Pierre Kool-Aid.

How could we have been so blind? Don't get me started ...

A "review" of (positive)racial profiling (AA) is a weasel word meaning we just have to come up with an "expert" who will claim that no real harm has been done to the non profiled race(s)/ gender. The G&M was afraid of poling with real words because it knew the outcome and didn't want to hear it. Harper will do nothing with this file regardless of the outcome of a "review". AA is PC and the majority in both houses are PC. Does anyone remember capital punishment?

JD, is it just me or what? I couldn't find the poll at the link you posted.

Posted by: batb at July 27, 2010 11:37 AM

It is buried in the live feed

Posted by: jd at July 27, 2010 12:09 PM

It seems like they have removed the survey
