Posted by: Alienated at July 13, 2010 9:15 PMMust be that blue tinted diesel that comes from the oil sands.
Posted by: pkuster at July 13, 2010 9:24 PMA lot of people never noticed the flat tire on the wagon, as Martin went on his merry way!! If I recall, the wheel had stopped turning.
Posted by: Citizen "X" at July 13, 2010 9:35 PMWhy is a BBQ in Orleans Ont,$20. for non members and free for members, while a plate load of crappy eggs in Calgary $55.for adults and $40.for kids over 6?
Is this not an equal opportunity bus tour?

Posted by: cal2 at July 13, 2010 10:24 PMThose must be liberal horses...with that much horse shit behind them... Even enough left over to make a bus.
Posted by: Altaguy at July 13, 2010 10:29 PMFunny how I don't see Iggy back there with a wrench. Five bucks says he can't tell gas from diesel. Bwahaha!
Posted by: The Phantom at July 13, 2010 10:31 PMHey Iggy!
I know it smells like sulfur. Amazing what a little bit will do stuffed up the tailpipe of a bus.
Yer friend Steve.
Posted by: john at July 13, 2010 10:36 PMCame home from abroad and chose the wrong bus....
Posted by: Soccermom at July 13, 2010 10:48 PMMade me think of that too, Kate. I still remember the great feeling I got when I when I saw that picture, the schadenfreude was so great.
Posted by: mark at July 13, 2010 10:55 PMGet up in the morning, get on the bus
Get up in the morning like the rest of us
Places to go, important people to meet
Better not get up or you might lose your seat
(Bus rider)
Leave the house at six o'clock to be on time
Leave the wife and kids at home to make a dime
Grab your lunch pail, check for mail in your slot
You won't get your cheque if you don't punch the clock
(Bus rider)
------ lead guitar ------
(Bus rider)
Grab the evening paper and sit down in your chair
Grab yourself a toupee 'cause you're losin' your hair
Doesn't matter what you do, you've nothin' to lose
I'm so awful goddamn glad I'm not in your shoes
(Bus rider)
(Bus rider) You know you'll ride it every single mornin' today
(Bus rider) Ride, ride, little man
(Bus rider) I don't wanna ride, no I don't wanna ride
(Bus rider) Get up in the morning, get on the bus
(Bus rider) Oh, little man ridin' upside down, yeah
(Bus rider) Mmm, no I don't wanna ride
(Bus rider)

Today's Question
Will Michael Ignatieff's cross-country tour help build trust with Canadians?
Yes 12%
No 88%
That pretty well sums it up.
Iggy is the best thing to happen for the Conservatives, even better than Dion.
Posted by: John Galt at July 13, 2010 11:02 PM'Hello,..ACME cab?.. yes, I just want to go home..'
(meep, meep)
A broke down bus is totally predictable. The Libs should get Conservatives to run everything that needs running for them - it's the only thing that can save them.
Posted by: Agent Smith at July 13, 2010 11:12 PMThis thing should be made into a road movie. I'm thinking something like; Ziffy: Cultural Learnings of Canada for Make Benefit Glorious Party of Laurier.
Given the current cast all one needs is a camera and a stack of waivers. Hilarity is bound to ensue.

Posted by: syncrodox at July 13, 2010 11:17 PMwhen the star phoenix ran that picture of the sleigh ride they cropped the picture so the flat tire wouldn't show. I canceled my subscription that day. I really wanted to see the headline "the wheels come off the martin campaign". about that time I started reading blogs and really learned how the world works.

Posted by: glacierman at July 14, 2010 1:22 AMOne thing I find funny! CBC.ca didn't mention a word about this story! Naaaw, CBC wouldn't cover up for the Libs now would they??
I just hope they don't have to bury Ma Joad along the highway!
(Some of you are too young to remember that one!)
Posted by: Citizen "X" at July 14, 2010 2:18 AMWell, at least Iggy's cohorts don't have much to worry about when he tosses them under the bus.....
Posted by: AtlanticJim at July 14, 2010 5:19 AMEach election Harper gains more MP's. Each election he increases turf in every Province. Harper is doing well for the CPC. He is now the longest serving PM in a minority government in Canada's history. Says alot about his skills. He has forced the LPC under Dion, and Prof. Iffy to support everyone of his Budgets for 4 years. He has stuffed them down the Liberals Throats like a French Farmer force feeding French Geese to make Foie Gras. The Liberals don't like it, because it ruins their LIVERS. But the results have been good for Canadians. Strongest economy in the G8 and G20. Strongest Banks. Lowest Unemployment most job gains. Canada respected on the World Stage again. Has done well cleaning up the Liberal War in Afghanistan and will get our troops home in 2011. The Liberals are nobodies outside of Toronto and Montreal. They have lost control of the Common's. They have lost control of the SENATE. Harper is taking away all their MOJO. The Liberals DON'T HAVE THE JUICE. They are RUMPSTERS.

Posted by: Brad at July 14, 2010 8:10 AMKate,
Thanks for reposting that Martin piccie. I have searched for it a number of times. It perfectly summed up that campaign.
The difference is Martin has determination and would continue to drive that thing. Iggy, well, no determination. Stuff just happens to him, and I can guarantee that nobody on that bus, save the driver, wvwn knew where the engine was, let alone what it looked like.
Posted by: Stephen at July 14, 2010 8:32 AMAnd to further add...
Iggy continued down the highway by car, on his Tour du Sulfur, to Cornwall which got nailed by lightning, thunder and heavy rain storms during his visit there.
Martin had determination? More like denial. A normal person would have climbed down and asked where the spare was.
Posted by: Kate at July 14, 2010 9:16 AMPaul Martin's Canada Steamship Lines are also in the news with a freighter running aground and leaking fuel into the St. Lawrence Seaway just outside Montreal.
It was carrying wheat.
Are you fella's in the west sticking pins in Librano dolls?
Please say yes.
'Cause it's working.
Trudeau's pup must be waiting breathlessly in the wings, heart all a-flutter...
Posted by: Jamie MacMaster at July 14, 2010 10:00 AMKate,
Fair enough, Martin would ignore an explosion going off beside him. I wasnt trying to praise him, but contrast how Iggy doesnt even have that ability, a sad requirement these days.
Posted by: Stephen at July 14, 2010 10:52 AMJr will bide his time till most of those who lived the day will be gone, And will use the (ill written) history books to praise his father In order to try to reclaim those so called everything rosey (Socialist) days.

Posted by: Chuck Berry at July 14, 2010 12:41 PMTour du Sulphur - love it, Glengarrian.
Went on the weather channel to see the posted videos of the rain storm you had and it was a great one to finish off another day for Iggy.
Only the hand of the Lord could have had Iggy's bus towed by Harper Diesel! Ah the irony of it!
Once a second bus arrived to carry passengers, supplies and luggage to Cornwall for a late event Tuesday evening, the Liberal Express was towed to Harper Diesel, a garage specializing in engine parts and repairs for buses and transport trucks.
Another victory for the Liberals. Expressly ordered.
