Police State Pride Parade

Goes off without hitch.

In related news: More people killed by horse drawn carriages this weekend than died at the G20.

First! Kate for PM!

It's an inside joke fer us rural types.

The "Dyke Parade" heals (WTF?)??????

Heals WHAT? Sales of turkey basters?

Posted by: ROFLMAOHAHAHEHE at July 5, 2010 12:16 PM

Like cow tipping?

Posted by: K Stricker at July 5, 2010 12:16 PM

Does this mean that IF you are gay, lesbian, transsexual and etc, and you have a parade which is, by the way, funded by capitalist corporations, THEN, the anti-capitalist leftist thugs who broke windows, smashed cars and looted at the G20....will leave your parade alone?

Does this mean that IF your parade includes anti-Israel floats THEN, the leftist thugs ..will leave your parade alone?

Does this mean that the leftist thugs who marched against global networking because it is 'capitalist', have nothing to say about the Islamic nations of this same globe who jail and execute gays and lesbians?

How is a gay parade 'healing' - and a conference that tries to enable the global nations to collaborate and network - 'not healing'?

I'm confused.

As gays, we bring a lot of love to the streets...

Don’t do it in the streets and frighten the horses...

“There’s nothing like a swell of diversity to expunge the memory of a lost weekend,” Smitherman said."

Just what the hell does that statement mean?

As far as "diversity" in neo-fascist "progessiveland", it may only be external and superficial. White, black, male, female, handicapped, whatever-that's fine. However, as with all it's secular theology, the left demands strict mental conformity to their groupthink esteem and approval of homosexuality. The old Stalinist term for communists who dared to intellectually stray in the slightest from groupthink conformity was "deviationist". While their descendants who form today's neo-fascist left don't use that term, they definitely use the concept.

Posted by: Dave in Pa at July 5, 2010 12:45 PM

Does that mean the road to peace and utopia leads through ones anus?

Posted by: Smitherenzes at July 5, 2010 12:47 PM

ET, I think it means the G20 was important and that homosexuals aren't important enough to take notice of or protest against.

Where is the Heterosexual Pride Parade?
There isn't one.
Why?
Because heterosexuals are normal, that's why.

While the "gays" have become as accepted as the law can force their acceptance on the general public they have become what they feared the most, ...which is banal.
They're no longer remarkable at all.

Rainbows and love, closely followed up the street by moonbeams and unicorns....

and not an apartheid statement was heard.

Way to go Star, excellent presentation of anything but the facts of the event you covered.

Posted by: mitchel44 at July 5, 2010 1:07 PM

Who gives a shit?

Posted by: Western Canadian at July 5, 2010 1:08 PM

I hope Shaidle, BCF and Mike Brock were there. They could have used some healing after all the severe trauma they went through last weekend.

Posted by: brick60 at July 5, 2010 1:08 PM

ET I don't think you are confused. You simply realize the world is bass ackwards.

Posted by: Sounder at July 5, 2010 1:09 PM

Finally an explanation for the weak police action in Ontario. Too many gays and lesbians in the force who don't like confrontation.
Time to get men and women back on the force.

Posted by: MaryT at July 5, 2010 1:20 PM

Just as I suspected...BDSM Dykes are harder to spook than horses.

Posted by: syncrodox at July 5, 2010 1:27 PM

Likely it was because the Black Bloc couldn't hide their weapons and gas masks in their skimpy costumes.

Posted by: Joey at July 5, 2010 1:29 PM

Gay pride is healing because there's "a lot of love"?

How about a lot of sex and the kind that -- especially promiscuous and unprotected -- can, and often does, kill?

It's never mentioned what the resulting sexually transmitted- and HIV/AIDs-related diseases in the gay population cost the Canadian taxpayers. If any other group had anywhere near the high incidence rates of HIV/AIDs-related illnesses that the gay population does, there'd be all sorts of light shone on it and accountability being exacted.

But seeing as this is the love that dare not speak its name, the incidence of HIV/AIDs in the gay community is, clearly, the disease that dare not speak its antecedents.

>>> In related news: More people killed by horse drawn carriages this weekend than died at the G20.

Exactly. Why complain about trampling of your rights or of police state measures like random search and seizures and detention of innocent bystanders? If there are no deaths, then everything is a-ok.

Posted by: Are there any more conservatives? at July 5, 2010 1:30 PM

yes i certainly will...

if you're asking if i'll chip in to buy a coach and four for next year's parade.....hell, let's get 6 of 'em....make a chuckwagon race of it...

Posted by: john begley at July 5, 2010 1:35 PM

"Why complain about trampling of your rights or of police state measures like random search and seizures and detention of innocent bystanders?"

I'm a fascist. It's one of the perks.

Posted by: Kate at July 5, 2010 1:39 PM

"Police State Pride Parade"

LOL. Nothing like a dyke march to mark the wonders of our wonderful police state.

Next time you get pulled over by a cop, tell him there's a dyke march nearby and he'll be off in a jiffy.

Posted by: sf at July 5, 2010 1:43 PM

I can't be entirely sure, but I think a certain excitable member of the undetained public received an unsympathetic mention on JGL a few minutes ago.

Sadly, he'll never know any of this. He's applied his considerable computer engineering skills to diagnose the "block" I placed on his ip address last night ... when the server was down.

Posted by: Kate at July 5, 2010 2:12 PM

And to think I read this before lunch. Oh well, there is always supper to look forward to.

Dyck March, the parade of the dicks and the dickless, baring it all or dressing it up for love.

An inside joke? About people being killed and injured in a freak accident? You have no class at all, do you?

This is the last time I ever visit this site dog lady.

Posted by: dp at July 5, 2010 2:43 PM

loki, who knows of these things has said that if we knew the amount of money that is spent on AIDS alone, we probably would know why our medical system is in free-fall. He said he daren't even talk about it, but it is astounding. In our most secret hearts, we knew that all along.

DP;

"This is the last time I ever visit this site dog lady."

Is that a promise.

Don't let the door hit you on your way out, dp. Hey maybe you can look up T.

Posted by: Joey at July 5, 2010 3:19 PM

Now is the time at SDA when we juxtapose:

at 2:37 pm today, dp makes a lame joke at the Shotgun about using a gun - perhaps to the point of murder - to steal someone's private property

6 minutes later at 2:43 pm today on this thread, he accuses Kate of a bad joke. I do not think that was the point of Kate's "inside" joke, but an interesting juxtaposition in light of the 2:37 comment.

Posted by: juxtaposer at July 5, 2010 3:21 PM

My 1:30 post brought up the same issue, larben.

If stay-at-home moms or clergy, just to name a couple of groups that get it in the jugular from the leftards, were costing the taxpayer the amount of money in health care that this CHOSEN lifestyle does, it'd be all over the media with demands that they cease and desist staying at home/worshipping the Christian God.

But, as it's a favoured minority that's breaking the bank, not one word. Instead, let's CELEBRATE the lifestyle with naked people dancing in the streets and simulations of lewd sex acts in public -- and, why not bring the whole family?

'Such wonderful role models for our kids!

dp at 2:43.

Oh goody. dp's gone!

Bye bye ...

Posted by: batb at July 5, 2010 4:14 PM

dp
I guess it went right over your head.

The point was despite the turmoil in the GTA over the G20.....no one was killed or seriously injured. That I would say qualifies as a success....apprehending/incarcerating a number of dangerous sociopaths is a bonus.

Here at the start of the 21st century, we are so long past the features of horse drawn culture, we have forgotten the horse crap and the constant genuine danger of runaway horses.

As a young lad, I survived such an event only by the grace of GOD.

Here in Ontario, we frequently see the Carlsburg hitch at parades.

Each horse, eight of them, has a groom, with the experience and skill to notice and control, walking beside it . The wagon is a stage prop but somewhat an engineering marvel. It is well ballasted so that it's modern truck brakes can provide a reasonable resistance to a potential runaway.

This is SOP for the various US hitches as well such as the Budweiser hitch.

Notice that the Brits have a rider on each team/pair drawing the Royal coach....that's not a make work project.

Isn't being dickless the Toronto nirvana? The politicians have had that covered for years. Add in the metrosexuals and abortion and the problem should solve itself.

The ups and downs of this thread.
First the downs which are really the ups. Ken @ 2.30 I had lunch first.
Next the ups. Don't toy with us DP@ 2.43 keep your promise.

Posted by: Tony RoBC at July 5, 2010 5:59 PM

So you did batb, just enforces what has been going on w/o so much as a peep from most working families.
I think some of these people had kids for tax purposes. Are people really that blind to what is going on? You mention it to people and you get a "tsk" and they move onto something lame like hockey or soccer or Lady GaGa.

Posted by: larben at July 5, 2010 6:57 PM

"Mayor hopeful George Smitherman, who was Ontario’s first openly gay cabinet minister, cheered from a sidewalk on Yonge St. with purple beads draped over his purple golf shirt."

Wow, the Red Star is really pushing Smitherman, aren't they? Subtle they ain't.

Posted by: Ellie in T.O. at July 5, 2010 6:57 PM

I may be wrong...but isn't the point being made here is that someone dying at a parade in Iowa has as much relevance to the 'pride' parade as the pride parade has to the G20 BS ?

Posted by: wallyj at July 5, 2010 7:21 PM

larben, the gays are the new blacks. You can't say anything factual about their lifestyle -- and I'm talking lifestyle and the choices individuals make, not the fact that someone is a homosexual; not all homosexuals are promiscuous or have multiple partners, though many are and do.

This is the problem in Canada, a product of our Charter of "Rights" (no responsibilities) and "Freedoms" (often mistaken for license to do anything you damned well feel like): Certain truths and facts are not "permissible" to talk about.

Well, I say to hell with that. (Though I have to say I make more than a few people uncomfortable! And my dance card's not always full.) It's not that people don't know what's going on, it's that they've been bullied into saying nothing because they might "offend" someone. Well, I'm offended that too many lifestyle choices of others are costing the rest of us a whole pile of money and are stretching our health care resources beyond what they can handle.

It's time to speak truth to lies. The truth will set you free.

Is the SCOTUS nominee Kagan the Grand Marshall this year?

Posted by: Alienated at July 5, 2010 10:09 PM

Rob Ford is the only way to go, Ellie, as he upsets all the right (or politically correct) people.

Posted by: andycanuck at July 5, 2010 10:14 PM

You're a marvel, batb. In this day and age of political correctness, it takes courage to tell the truth.

Posted by: gellen at July 6, 2010 12:05 AM

I think the gays have a lot of practice with "healing" after all their lifestyle creates a lot of wear and tear on the ole a**hole.

Posted by: Horny Toad at July 6, 2010 1:11 AM

OMG I thought Vancouver was bad. I am so humiliated that even 1 cent of my taxes previously funded this parade. Obviously, this parade has lots of sponsors and 78% of Torontonians do not go. Have a good time, but frankly, this should be indoors.

I am all for gay civil rights (pensions etc.) but do not ask me to respect or fund nearly-naked transvestites on floats.

Posted by: L at July 6, 2010 6:26 AM

Like you, L, I believe in civil rights for all, whether you're gay or straight.

But the idea that we should celebrate just this one lifestyle, subsidize it by taxpayers' dollars, be taken to Human Rights Commissions and Tribunals if we in any way criticize this lifestyle -- and be forced to pay fines and go to re-education classes, is abominable.

Where are the civil rights for those who have some very substantial concerns about this lifestyle, which is a choice, after all? No one is forced to live the gay lifestyle and, if rights and freedoms mean anything, no one should be forced to agree with, let alone, endorse, celebrate, or bless it.

gellen, if we all began speaking truth to lies, making sure we know our facts, things would begin to turn around. As the saying goes, "All it takes for evil to flourish is for good people people to (do and) say nothing." This is how the bullies win. :-(
