Later,

Interviewer: "You are not necessarily for (Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions), but you are for the movement?"

Davies: "Yeah, I support what's going on. We've got to somehow get it into the political arena."

Interviewer: "But you don't necessarily support the (Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions)?

Davies: "I think, yeah, personally I do, but it's not in the political arena."

Interviewer: "If it were in the political arena, you would be...

Davies: "You know what, I really don't, I'm not happy with your questions, don't pin it all on me..."

Interviewer: "I'm sorry, I'm just trying to get where you stand on it."

Libby Davies: "Well, where I stand is, somehow we have to make this issue something that can be properly debated in the political arena..."

So...she'll discuss it when the parliamentary cameras are on her, but otherwise she resents having to form and express her views.

Lastly, this one just killed me: "People are actually afraid to speak out on this issue, so we have to understand that the political reality is worse than in many countries..."

I read an article yesterday by one Gary Leupp trying to explain away Helen Thomas' suggestion that Jews should go back to Germany and Poland. It was a weak and laughable muddle.
