Tony Blair's Britain

Where the foxes caper unmolested, the government packs your school lunch and everyone needs a lentil to believe in.

Isn't there something we can do to bring illumination
to these poor dumb Limey bastards? Maybe an
ad campaign saying "read sda?"
Or a blog called "Free England?" They certainly need some sort of help.

The first comment says it all. No protection for smokers. Not that I usually stick up for smokers, but fair is fair.

Ruled Britannia , Britannia ruled always.
Britain ever ever ever shall be slaves.

Well the zealotry associated with some vegans is rarely seen outside of organized religion, so I can see how someone would mistake veganism as a religion.

Posted by: Peppermint Panda at March 8, 2010 10:04 PM

They, the eco-nuts will first ban meat from schools. You don't want to offend the forced vegan kids eh?
From their it will spread as people who don't eat meat complain of second hand meat smell. Bad breath, having to pay health care for meat induced illness. Restaurants will be forced to be Vegan or Carnivore. The busybodies will have amazing ills found from this new malady.
Than pictures of how meat is produced on the kill floor will be forced onto packaging.
In other words an orgy of hiring for bigger government for people suffering neurosis.

What is wrong with this world?!!!! It's enough to make you want to despair.

Reminds me of the vegan who couldn't figure out why the cat was ailing.

My sister queried the client as to what the cat was eating. Turned out the client had decided that the cat also needed a vegan diet.

Needless to say cats are carnivores, and the cat didn't respond well, having its diet radically altered.

I think the vegan was terminally challenged by the lack of B12 in the diet and the lack of B12 was affecting their thinking.

Cheers

Given the state of English cuisine, I'm not sure how to react..

You know there are really have no major problems to deal with when a nation determines it needs an Equalities Minister.

If we were in the UK, I'd be asking this --

If we are all equal, why is my news not on the BBC?

Posted by: Peter O'Donnell at March 9, 2010 1:52 AM

dp - you should stick up for smokers since they pay a big chunk of the mediocre care costs!

Posted by: Jema54 at March 9, 2010 3:14 AM

Does this mean I can't call veganism a mental illness anymore? Humans are omnivores but I prefer to be carniverous. How much intelligence does it take to stalk a blade of grass?

Posted by: loki at March 9, 2010 3:52 AM

Breaks my heart.

I lived in the UK for years. So sad to be in the generation to witness the demise (suicide?) of this once great nation.

I left right around the time that the borough of Harringay (in North London) banned the use of black garbage bags in the municipal trash cans because they were deemed racist (or offensive...or whatever...).

Sask Trade and Export should quickly seek endorsement from the "Church of English Vegans" and make Sask grown pulse crops the official supplier, we can soon charge the "believers" $50 then $100 per bushel. Al Gore has all the angles on the Warmist religion, this Vegan religion sounds perfect for Sask farmers to cash in on.

Isn't Britain the same country where last week a 22 year old NHS hospital patient had to call the cops and BEG them to bring him water? Because he hadn't seen a nurse in two days and couldn't get up.

Good thing they got hefty gun control there eh? Who knows what the revoltin' peasants might do?

Posted by: The Phantom at March 9, 2010 9:20 AM

Yeah Phantom, the peasants are certainly revolting. (said in a Groucho Marx voice)

Next it will be micro-chipping all carnivores. Curse those tofu tyrants.

""Neglected by 'lazy' nurses, man, 22, dying of thirst rang the police to beg for water

By Emily Andrews
2:19 PM on 06th March 2010

A man of 22 died in agony of dehydration after three days in a leading teaching hospital.

Kane Gorny was so desperate for a drink that he rang police to beg for their help.

They arrived on the ward only to be told by doctors that everything was under control.

The next day his mother Rita Cronin found him delirious and he died within hours.""

Maybe I am a disruptive character but I recall an incident a few years back....

In court the other guy's lawyer made a procedural objection to my testimony.

I appealed to the bench for a degree of licence due to my being part of an oppressed minority.

The judge: "and what oppressed minority might that be?" ( I am blantly, obviously anglo-caucasian)

I responded boldly : "....a single white male."

His honour's reaction was to inflate to erupt....Then stopped...pensive.....then....after quietly deflating.... with a gentle smile directed...."proceed"....I had secured the sympathy of the bench....

I doubt that would work these days......

What if it was my personal belief that I not pay taxes and the government should not interfere in my affairs?

Those beliefs shape my behaviors and my world view. And yet are trampled, the discrimination is so strong I feel I need monetary compensation and a few years of recovery on a nice beach somewhere.

Oh right, those views don't count, but heaven help a restaurant owner who doesn't put a Vegan option on HIS menu.
