The Tolerant Left

OMG there's so much more extremism in the left, for crying out loud!

Posted by: Soccermom at March 5, 2010 1:32 AM

That interviewer is offensive. OMG there are so many more wingnuts, freaks and extremists on the left....

The snake (the MSM) is angry. They don't like it when their agenda is challenged.

Posted by: Soccermom at March 5, 2010 1:34 AM

MSNBC

'Nuf said.

Posted by: Eskimo at March 5, 2010 1:42 AM

The conduct of the interviewer is deplorable.

I was confused at first as to who was actually being interviewed. When the interviewer goes on a diatribe while not allowing the guest to finish a statement, well...

The interviewer should be fired and given an industry "time out" period such as is done with children that cannot behave.

Posted by: PiperPaul at March 5, 2010 1:59 AM

Wow! MSNBC should be raided...too much crack flowing... the guy can't stand still. I wonder if anyone is awake on the production deck.

Posted by: Slap Shot at March 5, 2010 2:07 AM

Epic fail.

Posted by: langmann at March 5, 2010 2:14 AM

Must say, there was a point that was made there.

I'm convinced.

Posted by: Bull at March 5, 2010 2:28 AM

Yes, the left are scared. Since WWII they have gradually walked towards socialism in the first world with little resistance. They see resistance now to their plans, what are their long-term plans that they dare not reveal?

Posted by: real conservative at March 5, 2010 2:29 AM

Posted by: real conservative at March 5, 2010 2:30 AM

Outstanding...rarely do you see the Left so exposed. What fun!

Posted by: Jay Currie at March 5, 2010 2:54 AM

Another example of how the MSM is accelerating its downward spiral to irrelevence. Don't think I've ever seen a more offensive interviewer. What I can't understand is why is it ok for former communists to be in the dumbocratic party but not national socialists in other parties? I wouldn't want socialists of any pursuasion to be in a organization of which I was a member. In terms of who is the most offensive, right now the commies are quite a bit ahead of the national socialists in terms of body counts.

Posted by: loki at March 5, 2010 4:12 AM

Dude's as nuts as Olbermann.

Posted by: Black Mamba at March 5, 2010 4:59 AM

Wow. A real "how long have you been beating our wife" moment.

But it tells you what we are up against when the socialist and nanny-staters start to see that maybe they won't get their way after all.

I'm starting to wonder what will happen after Obama loses the next election (if the Repubs can find an acceptable candidate).

Posted by: old Lori at March 5, 2010 6:04 AM

Dylan Ratigan is an an out-of-control airhead who is inviting, and earning, a fistfight. He'd be kicked out of a rubby bar for doing that.

He should be fired immediately, and be barred from ever working again as a journalist.

Shameful, pathetic, and a lingering black mark on MSNBC.

Posted by: EBD at March 5, 2010 6:16 AM

Tee Party v. Tea Party

Posted by: Maikeru at March 5, 2010 6:58 AM

Wow, that was pathetic. Does anybody know what he was on about in terms of advoacting killing blacks and jews? Was there really some such person at a tea party event or is that just his way of saying "people who oppose affirmative action policies".

Posted by: Jethro at March 5, 2010 7:32 AM

That interviewer reminds me of a Global Warmest/Climate Changer who refuses to listen to answers. He never gave time for a proper answer to his questions and will never change his mind no mater what the answer.

Remind me of Elizabeth May and her so called debates.

Posted by: Clown Party at March 5, 2010 7:51 AM

I had no idea that racist's and jew haters and klan members were even in the tea party i thought it was a conservative peaceful democratic diplomatic movment by the people becasue they were tired of there lfet's socialistic agaenda being shoved down there throats.

just my thought's

Posted by: paul at March 5, 2010 7:53 AM

Clearly insane. They now have enough of these guys to have their own ward at the asylum. The 'Soros' Ward.

Posted by: lwestin at March 5, 2010 8:13 AM

I didn't realize the Right was onto something as big its turning out to be, namely tea parties and Palin. It's easily judged, measure the visceral hatred by the left.

Posted by: Western Canadian at March 5, 2010 8:20 AM

The man is a certifiable nut. Is it any wonder their ratings are in their boots?

Posted by: DrD at March 5, 2010 8:23 AM

lefty debating style....
This is truly the inspiration for the Tea Party movement....
Ask a question and then shout down the answer and shout the lefty position---totally fabricated.
This video must be cherished and replayed again and again and again........

Posted by: sasquatch at March 5, 2010 8:32 AM

I couldn't write a script better than that. Almost parody.

Posted by: Sean Peake at March 5, 2010 9:10 AM

DrD...calling this guy a "certificable nut" is an insult to certifiable nuts.

Posted by: paddyk at March 5, 2010 9:27 AM

This kind of s--t happens here too. Just moments ago on CTV a host reported that the "extreme" right represented by Sarah Palin, was coming to Calgary.
With the added disdain for the fact that the event is "sold out"!!

Opinion served up as fact.

Posted by: ivbinconned at March 5, 2010 9:47 AM

sasquatch, what you said. This is a prime example of the left's debating style and can be heard on talk radio interviews all the time. Overtalk and do not allow the other side to answer or make their point. Clown Party brings up a perfect Canadian example of this methodology.

Posted by: Ken (Kulak) at March 5, 2010 9:48 AM

There were several interesting things in this "interview". The rudeness of Ratigan was the most obvious.

The second thing of interest was Ratigan's statements about "killing of blacks, Jews, and women" at 0:45-1:06. While new movements do, from time to time, attract some unusual people, these unusual people are not killers, nor do they make statements about killing other people - even if they do make statements that are of the form "we do not like such and such..." It would have been helpful had Ratigan played some footage to allow the viewers to make up their own minds. In the absence of any data, I presume that Ratigan is either exaggerating the severity of any claims made by an "unusual" person or exaggerating the number of persons making such a claim. In other words, 1) have actual undesirable, even racist, comments been made that have been extrapolated by Ratigan to "killing" and/or 2) has such a "killing of ..." comment been made but its frequency is so low that the one or two incidents may be safely dismissed as agent provocateurs in consideration of the millions of people who have attended Tea Parties across the country?

The third item of interest is between 1:50-2:05 when Williams is actually allowed to speak for an instant. In his comments, Williams points out that NBC promoted a Sacramento employee from reporter to anchorwoman after she had made an antisemitic statement. Ratigan responds with "Do I look like I run NBC?" A lot could be said about Ratigan's response. Something about "removing the beam from your own eye..." or "people living in glass houses..." should suffice.

In view of Williams' charge that NBC has not dealt properly with the Sacramento anchorwoman, Ratigan should have made a better reply because he works for the same network. Because extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence, the claims of "killing of..." require sourced material.

On all three counts, Ratigan scores far below a solid B+.

Posted by: Brent Weston at March 5, 2010 9:52 AM

If there's one thing the Left fears, it is the will of The People. The TP represents the grass roots and it has the power in American. The Left will consistently call them the uneducated, backwater, racist, unsophisticated, unlearned nut roots. How does Kate put it?-- yes, scratch a lefty and you'll find an anti-Semite. I'd expand that to other antis but you get the point.

Posted by: Mark Peters at March 5, 2010 9:58 AM

How the heck does MSNBC stay in business? Who would buy time on a show like this?

Posted by: Lickmuffin at March 5, 2010 10:06 AM

I find it humourous how folks like MSNBC slam O'Reilly and then parrot his antics and methods to some ridiculous exponential factor.
O'Reilly would now be considered tame when compared to some of the blow hards that are out there today. Truth be told, O'Reilly was poor and has improved, whereas the left has fallen through the hole in the outhouse floor.

Posted by: northbaytrapper at March 5, 2010 10:11 AM

Wow, talk about being radical.
Ratigan really showed his true colors there.
What an empty suite!

And good on Mark, for pointing out the fact msnbc promoted, instead of demoted a reporter after an anti semetic rant.
no wonder msnbc rateings are in the tank ....and going lower!

sooner or later they will have to turn out the lights at MSNBS!

Posted by: bygeorge at March 5, 2010 10:23 AM

did anyone else get the irony of his comments at the end about lack of discourse? Especially after he was the root cause of the lack of discourse?

Posted by: dkjones at March 5, 2010 10:41 AM

This interviewer, for all his shrieking about racists and Nazis, probably wouldn't recognize a real racist or Nazi if his life depended on it.

The label racist or Nazi has become a throw away epithet in the complete absence of a calm and collected debate.

Mr. Radigan is so hooked into promoting a particular ideology he can't even recognize his shrill behaviour. He starts off the interview in a reasonably calm manner and ends in a diatribe talking over and above his guest with no interest in hearing the guests answer in explaining the Tea Party movement which Mr. Radigan at the opening stated had many admirable principles.

This is a the classic 'gotcha type journalism' which the Tea Party representative simply refused to play, when he pointed out MSNBC's own anti-Semitic behaviour throught one of its employees.

This is the classic smear of 'guilt by association' which is a logical fallacy.

Cheers

The left really don't care if someone who attends tea parties has said, or would say, kill the Jews. That's not their focus. It really isn't even kill the blacks, although they make an issue out of that also. This is merely a smokescreen in order to save Dem seats and Obama's a**.

It's total control by the left at stake here, and they can see it slipping away.

When it takes people who would have been mostly reasonable prior to Obama's rise out of the ashes of Chicago and turns them into raving nutcases, what will it be like when the real Anti-Christ appears on the scene?

Posted by: gellen at March 5, 2010 10:51 AM

I have never wanted to kill Blacks and Jews, but I would love to off that lunatic interviewer in that clip.

He is a man who is sweating imminent unemployment and not much of a career to look forward to in his chosen field.

He actually hates himself for not planning a real career when he was being brainwashed in university or college.

It should be mentioned that there is a far greater number of murderous leftists in the USA today than there are murderous tea party folks.

Let's make an analogy of the same type as this interviewer ... Americas prisons are full of Blacks and Hispanics ... Blacks and Hispanics are mostly all Democrat voters when they vote ... therefore Leftists are mostly all criminals ... hmmm ... actually that may be true.

Posted by: Abe Froman at March 5, 2010 10:59 AM

Well, thanks Kate. Now that you have posted this rant you have doubled NBC's viewing audience.

Posted by: Horny Toad at March 5, 2010 11:03 AM

The Tea Party guy should have said to the interviewer....Mr. Obama accepted and listened to an extreme racist in his church for 20 years and only cut Rev (Wright) loose when the media got on to it...so he must be a racist. These leftie are crazy and we shouldnt forget who they were the day comes....

Posted by: Mike L at March 5, 2010 11:04 AM

If this moron didn't want an answer, why did he ask the question?

MSNBC will be gone soon, who would watch this kind of journalistic excellence twice?

Posted by: Sylvanguy at March 5, 2010 11:04 AM

"It's easily judged, measure the visceral hatred by the left."

Yup, that's my barometer; the angrier they get, the more correct I must be.

"On all three counts, Ratigan scores far below a solid B+."

lol

Posted by: Indiana Homez at March 5, 2010 11:06 AM

This is a classic technique employed by the left- take the most extreme members of a group, and use them to smear the rest. Only it's not working anymore. The tea party is too big, too mainstream. They've taken the "community organizer" lessons and adopted them. Without the 100% lock that the media used to have on the "truth", the real facts are coming out.

[ Craig Crawford leaves MSNBC…

Longtime MSNBC analyst Craig Crawford has left the network…according to Craig Crawford…

For those who might be interested – and you have every reason not to be – I am no longer with MSNBC. Three months short of my current contract I sent the following to the boss, Phil Griffin: “Phil, Just wanted to give you the heads up that my situation with MSNBC has become so unrewarding for me that I’ve decided to move on. — Craig”

[...]

----------------

[ thanks bethy, i have never and never will forgive Chris for calling me a racist after the West Virginia primary (the last time I will ever go on air with him). Probably should have resigned then and there, but better late than never.

-------------

Crawford was a mainstay on MSNBC for a very long time and also one of the more level headed analysts they had. If the Craig Crawfords of the network are getting fed up with what’s going on, that’s bad. One can only infer from Crawford’s tweets exactly what at MSNBC is going wrong in his eyes (“lefty games”, while a pretty provocative term, is also maddeningly inexact and unspecific) but it’s obvious he really got fed up with Matthews. But aside from Matthews, what else?

Posted by: ron in kelowna ∴ at March 5, 2010 12:54 PM

Ratigan was made to look foolish. He knew it. You could see it on his face at the end.

I don't know why anyone who is right of centre or further right would even go on these programs with these nut bars. If they all refused, it would leave a vapid echo chamber 24-7 and would hasten the demise of MSNBC.

Now that Comcast has purchased control of NBC from GE, lefty lap dogs like Olbermann, Mathews, Maddow, and Ratigan are on borrowed time.

What bothers me the most is these losers with programs that have no viewership will take away millios in severance pay when none of them even beat Joy Rehab's crappy show.

Posted by: clair voyant at March 5, 2010 4:44 PM

The truth of the matter is that certifiable Neo Nazi’s have never attended the “Tea Parties” (at least in regalia and formally organized); again it’s made up MSM propaganda initially started by the wing nut Nancy Pelosi. If you look hard enough you also find pedophiles and serial killers in the millions of democratic party members, no?

The original Tea Party movement was started by the libertarian’s and constitutionalists, it consisted of both the politically right and left, but mainly the political right. That prompted the Republican Party to jump into the fray and claim a self appointed leadership role in the Tea Parties, upturning the original movement that was anti big government and the existing two party system including both the Republican and Democrat parties. This has caused the turmoil and split within the movement, between the Republican credit mongers and the original constitutionalist libertarian organizers.

What has caused the left to go moonbat, is the fact that a successful social movement has not only been viewed as a republican movement it has also attracted scores of left wingers due to its grass roots in libertarian origins.

No Nazi’s – just your normal everyday pissed off lefties that are losing ground and making thinks up as they go again.

Recently we had a clip of this guy going off on a DemocRat congress-woman, her name escapes me. The issue was health care. She really was evasive, thought she would come on the show and just spoon out the pablum like on every other news show. He nailed her to the wall for being insufficiently Lefty on health care and for spewing talking points.

The tea party guy answered the question right out of the box. Tea party organizers, and more importantly the people who attend the tea parties make a distinction between nuts and normal people. Ratigan was all prepared for a rant here, so he ignored it and went on with the pre-planned rant.

Ratigan's handlers think they are getting a ratings pump with this stuff. What they fail to realize is that they won't have a business news show long if they don't stick to business news.

Same deal as Cramer. You can sell they hype for a while, but pretty soon people do the math and figure out they are losing money following Cramer's advice.

Not to worry, they'll be bankrupt soon.
