Blink

The White House ordered the Justice Department Thursday night to consider other places to try the 9/11 terror suspects after a wave of opposition to holding the trial in lower Manhattan.

Congress wasn't going to give him the money to pay for it, anyway.

Amazing the difference one little election makes, eh?

A less bolder Holder

Your boss looks stupid too.

Posted by: Abe Froman at January 29, 2010 12:14 PM

Does this mean Chicago gets to host the trial as the consolation prize for missing the Olympics? At least they won't have trouble finding a jury of peers.

Posted by: WalterF at January 29, 2010 12:22 PM

How about holding the trial in Congress/Senate buldings. That way if there's a terrorist strike, some good will come out of it (maybe).

Posted by: Mike in White Rock at January 29, 2010 12:30 PM

Holder has to holder in California....They love a freak show.....The 9th circuit, black robe hair balls, will flip sides & find NYC guilty

Posted by: Slap Shot at January 29, 2010 12:39 PM

A dumb idea to start with. I agree with Walter -- Chicago seems appropriate. Aren't the Guantanamo prisoners being transferred to Illinois anyway?

Posted by: gobi desert at January 29, 2010 12:41 PM

WalterF, they could hold the trial in Dearbornistan. Then you've got jury of peers, boost to the local economy (such as it is), and the security situation is no worse than it was before.

Was that racist? I can't tell anymore.

May I recommend Dallas, Texas?

Posted by: gellen at January 29, 2010 12:44 PM

Chicago makes sense.

Can't understand the rationale for Dallas.

Posted by: set you free at January 29, 2010 12:45 PM

Nah, not Congress - that's one amazing piece of architecture. How about, oh I dunno, Guantanamo?

Posted by: Kathryn at January 29, 2010 12:45 PM

I have often wondered myself why Omar would want to come to Canada. After all- we are all infidels and he has spent his entire life believing his mission is to kill us all for Allah.
If we infidels did not give welfare to his Mom and sister would they still be here?
And, why does no media ever interview the grieving wwife and children of the US medic that Omar murdered? Do you think it would be justice to give this little hoodlum a pass on any kind of justice for this man's death?

I wonder if they'll even be able to hold a civilian trial. They might have to revert to a military trial. After all, what city is now going to accept being the site of a circus?

The fact that Obama (and Holder and etc) refuses to recognize that Islamic fascism exists and that it is a terrorist agenda has moved this White House out into the land of pure fiction. What is happening now is that reality is moving in on this virtual land..and Obama is starting to retreat and leave all such decisions to others.

I predict that he'll resign in 2011 when the UN secretary-general position is open. He's not interested in the US, he's not interested in policies or programs; he has neither the intellect nor the knowledge nor the work ethic to sit down and analyze and think through policies.

His only interest is in conquering people, in moving them into a state of fawning adulation. Once that's done, or if he starts to lose them..he'll move on to the next group.

Posted by: ET at January 29, 2010 1:41 PM

It would be logical to move trial to a military base. But wait, weren't they on a military base already?

Posted by: Aaron at January 29, 2010 1:53 PM

Man, that Gitmo that that retard Boooosh stumbled on is looking more like a good idea everyday....

Posted by: RFC at January 29, 2010 3:08 PM

They should have military trials for these mongrels and NOT make it into a media circus. It's bad enough that killed and plotted to kill people. They shouldn't get a platform on which to speak.

"Was that racist? I can't tell anymore."

That depends if you're white or not.

Set you free: Can't understand the rationale for Dallas.

The people who live there are Texans.

Do I have to draw a picture?

The arrogance of the “left’ is their Achilles heal. Once upon a time the left knew its agenda was unpalatable to main stream America(to put it lightly), so they went about their work always hiding their beliefs and goals from the “useful idiots”. Today, many on the left have misjudged Americas core values as akin to theirs, and have “come-out” (as the gays like to say) as their true selves; and daddy ain’t too pleased.

That said, the true story here is the miscalculation by TOTUS and E.Holder. Somehow their political arithmetic concluded that the progressive state of New York would be happy to a) foot the bill, and b) assume the risk, of holding this spectacle of a trial, to which its sole purpose appears to be the defamation of America in front of the world.

A safer play in my opinion would to have held the “trial” in a red state(say Texas) that already has disdain for TOTUS and the Democrats. How sweet it would have been for progressives and Democrats to be able to accuse such a state of being “un-American” or of being “against human rights”. How sweet it would have been to say the people of such a state “cling to guns or religion”. Why is are New Yorkers so upset? Should THEY not be asking “what you can do for your country” and sucking it up? I guess New Yorkers are not quite as progressive as TOTUS and E.Holder thought.

An example of NIMBY that makes love canal look like the welcome wagon.

Trial by military tribunal at gitmo and then execution if found guilty is the more than they deserve.

Polling puts that as the majority option in the US now, just wait until this trial gets rolling - it will climb to 80%.

This issue has the potential all on its own to cost the dems a couple of senate seats and a couple of dozen congressional seats.

I'm not sure why a trial is even being considered. Aren't they used to determine guilt. The only entity actually on trial is the US foreign policy of GWB. As a confessed enemy combatant and murderer he should be taken out into the Mid East desert and united with his prophet at a cost of about $0.60 worth of 9mm ordnance.

we can say one thing, Ostumble is very consistant

and ET nailed it me thinks, in that Ostumble will be lookin to run the UN, and he has as much as said that his is not in the presidence for the long run

Gitmo is right up there in the "being considered" list and by the looks to the court facility, it looks like it would work just fine. Like many, I find that trying this guy, with all of the litigious protection and scams, that the US Legal Beagles can come up with, is just plain nuts.

Posted by: Pat at January 29, 2010 11:04 PM

I said it before and I'll say it again...kill them all and let allah sort it out. kill them all.

During WW2, German spys/sabateurs were landed in the Uk and the USA by submarine or through neutrals such as Ireland/Portugal.

They were captured and dealt with according to the Geneva Protocols. In the US they were seated on "Old Sparky".....In the UK they were introduced to a rope and a trapdoor.

No uniform, formal military organization or insignia...no Geneva Protocols.....

There is no such thing as a fair, just civil trial for these mutts.....no Miranda, inadmissable evidence....and OBOZO and Holder knew/know this.

Posted by: sasquatch at January 29, 2010 11:42 PM

next, we have to get the Buddy Holly Bomber sent to Gitmo for proper care
