Media Bistro: Fox News Finishes Week #1 in All of Primetime Cable
Posted by Kate at January 26, 2010 10:41 AMHey if your ratings were as bad as his you would be jumping up and down neked rubbin banasas in your hair to keep your job too.
Posted by: Jeff Cosford at January 26, 2010 11:10 AMhttp://www.mediaite.com/online/the-only-person-more-popular-than-glenn-beck-is-oprah/
"according to the breakdown “Glenn Beck is the favorite for both Republicans and for Conservatives, but, interestingly, also for Independents. Oprah Winfrey is number one for Democrats and Moderates, while Jon Stewart is the favorite for Liberals.”
Posted by: Kathy Shaidle at January 26, 2010 11:14 AMDoesn't it seem sometimes that there are two planets: Planet "Progressive" where all the liberals live and Planet Earth, the reality planet on which the non-Left-indoctrinated live?
That aside, I agree with Jeff above. Hard-lefty MSNBC has far and away the lowest cable news ratings. So, MSNBC Comrade Keith is an attention junky for the purpose of optimizing his ratings and getting as much web and dead tree coverage as possible. Like in this thread here. :-)
Posted by: Dave in Pa at January 26, 2010 11:18 AMThe only thing I agree with about the Scott Brown blast is that in times past, conservatives would have taken Scott to task with being a nude model, but the Dims/Liberals has moved the goalposts so far to a Godless society, he is now seen as a Conservative.
We should take him to task, but then the bar would be raised again and the Dems would be tripping on it once it got off the floor again!
Posted by: glacierman at January 26, 2010 11:29 AMRigged! Bush contracted all of the TV ratings computers to Diebold in his while he wasn't too busy destroying the economy with unfettered capitalism or committing war crimes.
Posted by: K Stricker at January 26, 2010 11:33 AMGlacierman - I personally, still take this fellow to task for posing naked (or nearly so) but take into consideration his immaturity. I'm pretty sure he didn't take into consideration that he was teasing the pro-SSM crowd while doing so. Who can forget the vilification of the singer/beauty contest winner, Anita Bryant for her stand against that sort of thing? And there was no mercy for Dr. Laura when certain pictures of her showed up on the internet, especially from the same group. The question we have to ask is: Can you think of anyone on the left you would want to see naked?
Posted by: larben at January 26, 2010 11:47 AMTwo "n"s in Glenn for Beck.
Does this disqualify Olberman from owning a football team? Maybe not. But maybe MSNBC won't have enough money to pay him as he is proving the network irrelevant
Posted by: Erik Larsen at January 26, 2010 12:16 PMUgh. I know that too. My headlines autosuggest, so once an error has crept in, it tends to be repeated...
Posted by: Kate at January 26, 2010 12:24 PM"The question we have to ask is: Can you think of anyone on the left you would want to see naked?"
Hmmm...let's see: Nancy Pelosi, Hillary, Barbara Boxer, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, "wise Latina woman" Sonia Sotomayor? For Canajuns, possible candidates include Elizabeth May and Olivia Chow.
With the arguable exception of "wise Latina woman" Sotomayor, the rest make me hurl.
Who's Glen(n) Beck?
a) King of the rightoid rightards.
b) A shameless paranoid opportunist.
c) An obsessive conspiracy theorist.
d) All of the above.
Meanwhile, Jon Stewart on the Daily Show catches up with SDA. Video: Jon Stewart goofs on Obama for classroom teleprompter.
Good and funny. He even uses a clip of Obama obviously ping-ponging between the two teleprompters.
Now is the time on SDA when we bump!
"Is There Nothing That Obama Can't Do?"
"Update - Well, sure, it was for the press. It doesn't stop it from looking pretty damned ridiculous in that setting."
Jon Stewart Agrees!

PS sorry Kate forgot a ":-)" after my two n thing.
Posted by: Erik Larsen at January 26, 2010 1:43 PMDid anyone else catch Becks' first documentary last Friday "The Revolutionary Holocaust: Live Free or Die."?
Pretty good. I watched with my 16 y/o who now has a good idea of what 'progessives' have done in the past. I didn't know that G.B. Shaw articulated death for non-performing members of society, ie those who consume more than they produce.
Only at FNC!

I did. It was refreshing to have the "open secret" of genocidal socialism made public. The only thing he missed was that Walter Duranty of the NY Times won a Pulitzer for covering up Stalin's genocidal "famine" of Ukrainians.
Posted by: Looking Glass at January 26, 2010 1:58 PMGlacierman, Stricker:
From Genesis, Chapter 2, Verse 25:
And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed
In our original state, nudity was not a sin in the eyes of God; indeed, it is not named as a sin anywhere in the Bible. It is only in the eyes of prudes and Victorians that is is wrong.
Posted by: KevinB at January 26, 2010 2:09 PMLarbden @ 11:47, geeze, man. The nude photo left me drooling. I think most women of the hetero variety, no matter what their age, would have reacted the same way. Makes him a real vote magnet.

Yes, it was really well put together. The information shook me to the core on how evil the world is sans God; when people think they can and want to make things perfect themselves.
Beck may not be all that far off.
This is an article on James Hansen - Nasa scientist.

Maybe you will like Obama's Climate advisor. John Holgren....We are in for good times

Take it for what its worth.
Posted by: Triple Bay at January 26, 2010 2:38 PMPersonally? I would rather watch Glenn Beck than read a newspaper report about what a moron Keith Olbermann is. Keith is by far the most nasty and hate filled man on TV, yet the hypocracy is just stunning.
The chattering classes don't seem to understand hypocracy...which is why they in the end never really win any debates.
Posted by: Mark in Oshawa at January 26, 2010 3:10 PMWho is not stirred enough
an idiot
A trolling idiot
A moron
A trolling moron
A uselesss moron
A leftist moron
A boorish moron
A moron who sucks of the public teat
A teat
All of the above
To Dave in Pa, Dude, your sights are really too low. Most of those progressives on your list would make the granny in Playboy look good. just sayin'
btw, my wife would rather see the senator-elect than Dr fruitfly guy.
Posted by: Texas Canuck at January 26, 2010 4:02 PMPhilM @ 1:48, you should read "The Black Book of Communism", Stephane Courtois, et al
The book, written in chapters, by a team of scholars, documents the crimes against humanity by Communist regimes.
Posted by: Ken (Kulak) at January 26, 2010 5:05 PMnow if'n olberman is correct on Scott Brown, then how did Brown manage to "steal" the kennedy seat???
is OweBowLo that bad:-)))))
There's that darn liberal media again, eh, kids?
Oh, I forgot - you only use that line when you're putting on your Whining Crybaby hats.
Posted by: marquis at January 26, 2010 6:49 PM@PhilM at January 26, 2010 1:48 PM
Check out UN Agenda 21 Rio Declaration and it wont't be so funny. No offence to you but I think there is some serious poop going on here.
Texas Canuck, I just listed them as arguably being some of the most prominent liberal women in N. America. From there, I just commented on my perception of their attractiveness. And yeah, I've also seen older ladies whom I found very attractive, far more so than the "progressive" belles I listed. :-)
Posted by: Dave in Pa at January 26, 2010 8:53 PMKeith Olberman is a pathetic excuse for...a...well he isn't even a human being-I wouldn't want to class him with the rest of us. What an embarrassment!!!
If you have a chance, look up Glenn Beck's show that aired tonight. I was in tears! He did a compare and contrast between Chavez and Obama and he also critiqued an article in Time Magazine written by Joe Klein. You won't be sorry.
Posted by: tigerpants at January 26, 2010 8:54 PMNSEnough said: "Who's Glen(n) Beck?
a) King of the rightoid rightards."
Hey Stirred, when you've got nothing, call names. Where is Beck in error? C'mon, pick out a few items and prove him wrong.
I notice that red telephone still hasn't rung yet. One thing about Glenn Beck: his research is in depth and immpeccable.
He doesn't say "so and so said..." - rather he shows the so and so actually saying it, damning them with their own words.
And yet none of the so and so's refute his claims because they are irrefutable. They don't claim they are taken out of context, they simply ignore, deflect and use ad hominem attacks.
Doesn't get more real than that.
Posted by: No Guff at January 27, 2010 2:06 AMGlenn Beck is doing the job of journalists and teachers. He is doing a fabulous job at both - I watched his first show at CNN, he caught my attention immidiatly and I have missed no show of his, that I could possibly avoid missing - now I tape them if I cannot watch live.
This man is true blue, he is a Patriot, he loves Liberty, he loves God, he is very courageous, and he says what the American people have been wanting to hear, IMO. I am not the only person having this opinion of Glenn Beck - his ratings speak for themselves. His last Fri show should be a must see for every person, in every nation; it could save them from a fate far worse than death; death after the loss of the soul.
"The Lord God works in mysterious ways" - perhaps Glenn is one of Heaven's messengers. Don't anyone think that I say that 'tongue in cheek' as I am not one to mock God, at any time. I remember Glenn Beck, in my prayers, along with PMSH.
Posted by: Jema 54 at January 27, 2010 2:27 AMGlenn Beck:
"You know it took me about a year to start hating the 9-11 victims' families? Took me about a year. . . But the second thought I had when I saw these people and they had to shut down the Astrodome and lock it down, I thought: I didn't think I could hate victims faster than the 9-11 victims. These guys -- you know it's really sad. We're not hearing anything about Mississippi. We're not hearing anything about Alabama. We're hearing about the victims in New Orleans. This is a 90,000-square-mile disaster site, New Orleans is 181 square miles. A hundred and -- 0.2 percent of the disaster area is New Orleans! And that's all we're hearing about, are the people in New Orleans. Those are the only ones we're seeing on television are the scumbags"
What a wonderful messenger from God.
Er, that is, if your 'god' is Satan.
Posted by: marquis at January 27, 2010 2:47 AMIt amazes one to realize the extent to which this silly country is susceptible to such blatant propaganda as spewed forth on a Daily basis by FOX Noise.
These are the days of America’s ultimate doom. When a clueless thought Nazi like Glenn Beck is able to hijack America political conversation, it only proves beyond a wisp of a doubt that America has swallowed the fatal capsule of its own demise.
Seriously, did you ever, in your weirdest, stupidest fantasies think your country would fall as low as it has? It kinda makes you wonder.

Posted by: Tom Degan at January 27, 2010 4:01 AMBeck's show on Monday was a real eye opener. He dissected the Beatles "Revolution". A lyrical playbook for the progressives. The guy is in the zone.

One lie by Beck. Just one please.
Thought so.
You could call him (Glenn Beck) on his red phone, Tom; sounds like you work for the US President or one of his Czars.
marquis - you are all over the place - is it 911 OR hurricane Katrina? Two separate events.
I second Doowleb:One lie by Beck. Just one please.
Thought so.
Glenn Beck is entitled to his own opinions - do you have any opinion about the people that Castro kills when they disagree with him? Chevez?, Kim of N. Korea..? Didn't think so.
Posted by: Jema 54 at January 28, 2010 2:24 AMHow can I get Fox TV in BC or Alberta? I have Cable in both provinces.
The only time I see genuine conservatives on TV is when I go the USA on business.
