"Because Muslims are the rightful owners* of ancient Hebrew scrolls."
Via BCF who has his own take.
IMHO,this is the motive; "Even if Canada ignores the request, it will make other countries think twice before accepting the controversial exhibit".--- The same as the nuisance suits against anyone who criticizes the 'religion of peace'.

OT, wallyj, I must be kind of dumb this morning, as what kind of "box" were you talking about in the Vitruvius selection of last night? The comment about "Inglorious Basterds".
Posted by: Ken (Kulak) at January 2, 2010 1:40 PMIn a kind of flying pig moment, Obama discovers Al-Qaeda... its on Breitbart but I can't find a good link.
Posted by: james at January 2, 2010 2:02 PMKen,take a look at "the most useless machine ever".I was thinking that you may have one. Cheers.
Posted by: wallyj at January 2, 2010 2:07 PMwallyj, I got it. Working that machine for a while might have been more enlightening. Brad Pitt dropped a few more notches on my celebrity list.
Posted by: Ken (Kulak) at January 2, 2010 2:14 PMOne more example of the rejected and abandoned eldest Muslim son syndrome. Abraham was their daddy first. They covet everything the joos have. Wouldn't trust them an inch because, as we all know, they MEAN it.
After listening to a video posted in the comments I heard Obama's speech in which he declared that the U.S. is not a Christian nation (read also Canada and all western nations)and he credited Muslims with every known invention except the printing press, the telephone and the ballpoint pen.
Pure and simply put, they're fanatical nuts. And if that includes the King of Jordan, I'm disappointed.

Why would these Islamo crackpots even bother to ask Canada to do such a preposterous thing unless they really believe we are as naive as the Taliban say we are when it comes to falling for this Islamo agitprop BS. Arrryhhhh will we EVER shake this reputation as the great international sucker, a doormat for the world's slimiest regimes?
Canada's crack head left are becoming the useful idiots for radical Islamic fascists. They can deny it all they want but that is the reason their parties poll so poorly. Most Canadians want these subversive idiots rounded up and deported, not coddled and protected.

They are not "becoming the useful idiots for radical Islamic fascists." They are charter members of that class.......
BTW....The KAABA in Mecca not only predates Islam but was initially a Hindu shrine.....Arabs were mostly Hindu originally. This is but just one reason why Hindus and Muzzies do not play well together.
PS:
Certain Islamic groups eg Al Qaida....demand the return to Islam of ANY territory once occupied by Islamics....including ALL of Portugal, Spain, Greece, Serbia, Bulgaria, Romania, Bosnia, Croatia, Slovenia, as well as parts of France, Italy, Austria, China, India, Russia and the Ukraine.
If you have a strong stomach read what the Moslem Cult is really like. Beheadings, burning and stoning women and children. http://barenakedislam.wordpress.com/
Posted by: RFB at January 2, 2010 5:51 PMWhich is why Obama said the U.S. is not a Christian country and stressed that Muslims had been there from the beginning. Who did he mean? The natives?
If Muslims were there as early as he says, and contributed as much to its development as he says, then the U.S. becomes one more territory to be returned.
In that speech he also mentioned how many mosques there are across the U.S. and how widely they are distributed. Since it is not a Christian country, he didn't mention the number of churches. What Obama doesn't believe, ceases to exist.
I wonder if the Arabs - including or even especially the famously moderate Jordanians - ever get the feeling that they shouldn't have tried to destroy Israel in 1967.
Frankly, my guess is no.
Posted by: Black Mamba at January 2, 2010 8:12 PMLets send them a box of tim-bits as a consolation prize.
Then tell them weeks later that they were fried in hof fat.
Posted by: robins111 at January 2, 2010 8:16 PMre. gellen @7:01 - BTW, google (or the name of whichever search engine you prefer, as a verb) something like: "Muslems discovered America" or "Muslems before Columbus textbook"; it's crazy stuff, man.
Posted by: Black Mamba at January 2, 2010 8:21 PMThe saying goes, andit's been my observation that: possesion is 9/10 of the law. Period!
Posted by: Indiana Homez at January 2, 2010 9:42 PMYup. what I really do not understand how could Jordan have anything in common with jahiliyyah ?
It is said in Quran that:
:Behold! Allah took the covenant of the prophets, saying: "I give you a Book and Wisdom; then comes to you a messenger, confirming what is with you; do ye believe in him and render him help." Allah said: "Do ye agree, and take this my Covenant as binding on you?" They said: "We agree." He said: "Then bear witness, and I am with you among the witnesses."
If any turn back after this, they are perverted transgressors.
Therefore it is quite evident that "when a person embraced Islam , he would immediately cut himself off from Jahiliyyah."
And here Jordanian government wants to embrace documents from the time of jahiliyyah? How could they?!!!!
Or perhaps they want to "get" them only to destroy them???
Hmm..............
Were I Israel I'd say to Jordan..."You get the scrolls and the Palis: package deal."
Posted by: Jay Currie at January 2, 2010 9:47 PMAccording to the Old Testament, all muslims are descendants of the bastard child of a slave woman, which would seem to suggest that they are all illigitimate, but then, so am I!
Posted by: larben at January 2, 2010 10:40 PMI googled as you said, Black Mamba.
Muslims crossed the ocean in 889AD: Khishkhash ibn Said ibn Aswad Al-Qurtuby (of Cordoba) set sail from the port of Palos in Muslim Spain and reached a certain land in the west. He returned home with huge treasures. He drew a world map calling these areas in the Atlantic Ocean "the unknown land".
"Teachers will begin teaching this in schools."
From American Thinker: A Native American tribe has forced distributors of an Arab studies guide for American teachers to remove an inaccurate and absurd passage that Muslim explorers preceded Columbus to North America, and eventually became Algonquin chiefs named Abdul—Rahim and Abdallah Ibn Malik!
Muslims in the Americas prior to Columbus??? Possible but irrelevant.
Cro-Magnon Ice-age hunters/wanders left artefacts in the new world as well as their DNA. They seem to predate the First Nations invasion from Alaska.
Thor Hyerdal theorised contact by Phoroanic Eygpt.
Phonecians had accounts of such voyages....but Phonecians were very secretive.
Irish monks, lead by St Bredan are also reputed to have made landfall in the America's....
A Chinese fleet likely arrived as well....corroberated by records and detailed maps of the interior (including Montana).
Basque fishermen are known to have exploited the Grand Banks fishery pre-columbian.
All of these are likely but do not represent any claims to territory.
The widespead occupation of most Pacific islands by the Polonesians would indicate that distances are not a factor to preclude such contact.
These early expeditions are irrelevant because they were not exploited like the European ventures of the 15-16th centuries.
The Vikings at least left considerable evidence, artefacts and archetecture.
Clovis points in North America seem to indicate an earlier contact with Spain, they are the oldest artifacts, there are no bone remains to determine the genetics of the NA clovis, however Clovis points are very specific and its unlikely that the style would have developed independantly. Kennewick Man is caucasian, from unknown origin, the "first " nations are trying to claim the remains in order to suppress the data, their whole system of entitlement maybe be byebye if causcasians were here first.
Id read the theory of muslim exploration in the great lakes area, if they are looking for DNA they better do it quickly as Dearbourne Michigan is surely a big source now.
Posted by: cal2 at January 3, 2010 11:41 AMre: Khishkhash ibn Said ibn Aswad Al-Qurtuby fable.
This is part of a common "workaround" used by Islamists. The point of such a strange assertion is that if it "can be said" that presently infidel people were at one time supposedly voluntarily converted to Islam or offered the opportunity to do so and they or their descendants refused or later fell away, their lands and lives are forfeit to "reconquering" muslims. That gets around the land claims of First Nations and other land titles which trace back to First Nation treaties.
