Allahu Akbar: It's The New "Cry For Help"

He's just a lonely boy.... lonely and BOOM!

The 23-year-old Nigerian man accused of the attempted Christmas Day bombing of an American airliner apparently turned to the Internet for counseling and companionship, writing in an online forum that he was "lonely" and had "never found a true Muslim friend."

"I have no one to speak too [sic]," read a posting from January 2005, when Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab was attending boarding school. "No one to consult, no one to support me and I feel depressed and lonely. I do not know what to do. And then I think this loneliness leads me to other problems."

Read the whole Washington Post investigative journalism thingie, and you too, can join the millions of others who now know more about the college years of the Undi-bomber than they do those of the President of the United States.

Kate, a masterful phrase. I salute you!

I think all terrorist should be labeled with ridiculous names, like the undi-bomber or underwear bomber. If nothing obvious presents itself, just something bacon related will do.

Posted by: Moho98 at December 29, 2009 7:26 PM

I got on an airliner with no passport, no luggage and no credit card with a bomb in my butt and still I can't find a true Muslim fiend .... hahahahahahaha

Posted by: Abe Froman at December 29, 2009 7:26 PM

had "never found a true Muslim friend."
Translation: never held a girls hand in his life.

Posted by: tom at December 29, 2009 7:26 PM

lonely and BOOM!..priceless. While they are interrogating this guy about a new line of underwear, they should also ask what he was on to remain so calm while his crotch was on fire. The Health Care system could use some of that.

Posted by: Speedy at December 29, 2009 7:28 PM

Don't worry there lonely bomber boy or whatever your actual but unpronounceable name is, you have a true friend in Obama.

Posted by: Abe Froman at December 29, 2009 7:28 PM

I like Steyn's phrase the "Knicker-bomber"...

Maybe the reason he didn't find a true friend is because true friends don't pack explosives in and around various body cavities/parts.

Oh and BTW did you forget to take your anti-psychotics today?

Well you can say one thing, they are committed...but perhaps should be committed to the psych ward in perpetuity.

Maybe the DHS should consider that the ideology is the problem...who dah thunk it?

There goes the media again... searching for root causes in all places but one.

Posted by: Mark Peters at December 29, 2009 8:09 PM

Sammy - amen - what a joke that network is.

Now that some guy's blown his junk off in a plane, the talking heads on that network are all experts - about "the failed state of Yemen" - and "Al-Qaeda in the Arabian peninsula" - etc etc. The big question is - how many plots have been foiled? How many people like this are they concerned about?

Oh, and please note, docile populus - they commend the US president for "asking for answers". It bothers me the way that Obama is viewed as above it all - whereas Boosh was responsible for everything wrong. I bet they can find the bomber's birth certificate though if asked.

And Bristol Palin - come on - she needs the media doing this to her? Her mother is a public figure - she is not, nor did she sign up to be.

Disgusting.

Leave it to Steyn to come up with a good one.

"...as well as his inner struggle as a devout Muslim between liberalism and extremism."

This attack a success not a failure, sure the explosive malfunctioned but this was apparently a rare occurrence not likely to occur next time.

Look at all the Intel the jihadist are collecting from the j-school morons at CNN and the Oh Oh Obama admin talking heads. Certainly Al-Qaeda are comfortable with Janet ' big sis' Nepalitano at the controls.

I'd say the imam enforced extremism won out and the "Knicker-bomber" is the first of the next wave.

The "Fruit of the BOOM" guy.
The "Chestnuts roasting on an open fire" guy.
The "Pink panty" guy.
The "Those ain't my panties" guy.
The "I thought it was hash and was just having a quick toke" guy.

I could go on, but what would be the point.
He's the ulimate joke of what it means to be a human being.

Has the Post looked into Obama's birth certificate yet?

Posted by: Sean at December 29, 2009 9:07 PM

Erik: "It bothers me the way that Obama is viewed as above it all - whereas Boosh was responsible for everything wrong."

Remember the notorious seven minutes after someone whispered the news about what had just happened in New York into Bush's ear. How long did leftards whine and howl about the missing seven minutes of Bush's life. Yet it takes The One (PBUH) several days to respond with any sort of remotely presidential statement following an event such as the one this past week. The Double Standard is a leftard disease.

I think I got an email a couple of months ago from this guy, offering me ten million dollars if I would be his friend. It originated in Nigeria not Kenya so I deleted it.Small things that might have changed history,I feel so bad.

Posted by: greyburr at December 29, 2009 9:22 PM

So far, every Dhimicrap has followed the usual left-tard protocol on what happend; "it's Bush's fault".

If, as they claim, they're so smart about these things they should have recognised the problem and took care of it. Instead they focused on the threat from returning veterans and TEA-partiers.

How these idiots survived past infancy is beyond explanation.

Posted by: Mike T at December 29, 2009 9:33 PM

Could someone please give me a reason why I should care? This well-fed spoiled rich boy tried to kill passengers, some of whom were children, on Christmas Day and he wants the world to understand him? How does this fare for understanding: go to hell. I am tired of hearing excuses. He made a very stupid choice and should be made to reflect upon it in prison while being beaten with soap bars in socks with other inmates who never had even a quarter the privileges he had.

Posted by: Osumashi Kinyobe at December 29, 2009 9:48 PM

Let’s examine this.

Here is a guy that is recorded in the books as a potential threat along with other half mil others.
One would think that if somebody does not have a passport and is trying to board a plane for the US, you would look it up in the book (data base) marked “bad guys”.
One would think that simply using Bing or the local search engine, the bad guy’s name would show up.
One would think that, if the bad guy’s name show’s up, the “sort of” good guys would get the bad guy naked.
One would think that would be sufficient to discover something is up (never mind) and stop it.

Sounds simplistic, probably would not work. Too bad

Our little depressed jihadist blew his own nuts off. That'll give him something to think about.

Posted by: eastern paul at December 29, 2009 11:05 PM

Louise - whenever I hear Obama speak, I just hear different words come out with the same phraseology. Emotionless, robotic and insipid.

He may be a nice guy in real life, but he's not the guy for the job he's got. I'm sure half of us on this blog could do a better job of inspiring people - and we probably do in our everyday lives. PS - I heard that he blamed "outdated structures" or whatever for the attack - Boosh again!

The best thing I can think about Obama is that he'll put Michael Moore out of business.

Posted by: Erik Larsen at December 29, 2009 11:23 PM

I wondered how barry O got a passport without a birth certificate, the 'pink pantie bomber' (good metaphors Peter Milot) got on an international flight without a passport. Do these people know something that the rest of us do not know, or do they know someone.....?

Things that make me go humm?

Barry O was just too casual when he was voicing his 'outrage' about this 'aledged' criminal; between putts at his favorite sandbox -parr 3...If a person watched Barry's body language it was apparant that he was getting the press conference 'over with' so he could get back to what he has some intrest in, his golf game. Some President!

Posted by: jema 54 at December 29, 2009 11:40 PM

jema54 - I wish he would have a real press conference - where he would answer questions. He just reads off the screen, then walks away.

Not good enough.

Posted by: Erik Larsen at December 29, 2009 11:55 PM

Undi-bomber, LOL

The Shangris-Las also had a song called "I Can Never Go Home Any More". Abdulmutallab could be singing that one for a while.

Posted by: nv53 at December 29, 2009 11:58 PM

This incident proves that stupidity trumps technology. Why wasn't this person put on no-fly immediately? His father warned the US embassy, but the Americans didn't take him seriously. Fathers don't indiscriminately rat out their kids; the fact that this one did was a huge red flag.

Technology is only as good as the people using it. Ignorance, arrogance and idiocy almost cost 300 people their lives. It's time to deep-six political correctness, and start profiling people. I'd rather deal with left wing outrage than human carnage.

Posted by: ad at December 30, 2009 12:16 AM

So the knicker bomber removed his manhood oh dear. There is one consolation in the fact that they can do wonderful gender reassignment surgery these days. Of course the burqua (s)he would have to wear would cover up all the other lacking feminine qualities. I think its a win win given his present circumstances.

It seems to me that the only way he could have got on that plane without a passport was because money changed hands - just standard operating procedure in cases like these.

Posted by: violet at December 30, 2009 9:04 AM

I smell another diversion in the making - Tiger Woods - only lasted so long (perhaps he will overdose or something). A new scandal will soon emerge to divert the lame stream media from any truth about the knicker bomber (other than blaming Bush or the US for the attempted bombing). It is imperative the "heat" not be on him and what he is not doing. This whole lonely boy scenario seems rather fishy to me. It is certainly giving the community organizer another excuse to go after the CIA - I'm sure they have checked him out and know the truth about him - his only recourse is to seriously discredit them.
