Hopenchangen: Not Bizarre Enough!

Now is the time at SDA when we juxtapose!

Mexican President Filipe Calderon received the Global Legislators Organization (GLOBE) Award for his leadership on the environment at the Copenhagen climate conference on Thursday.

The final thing we disliked about Mexico is the trash. We spent many nights talking about the abundance of trash in Mexico, and we’re still not sure what the problem or solution is. My argument that poor countries don’t have the luxury of dealing with garbage went out the window—so to speak—when we visited Guatemala...

Bizarre ? Not at all.

When it comes to the United Nations, anything socialist and tinpot dictator trumps environmental and good governance.

Considering 'Oil for Food' and all, our own Maurice Strong probably drew up the UN's awards criterion.
May even be the man behind the curtain bad-rapping Canada in Dopenhagen.

The Brown countdown is on......probably less than 6 months now.

Just don't know if Cameron has the right stuff...

Yeah, that Mugabe fella must be right.

It's because of climate change that nobody knows how to farm in Zimbabwe and more.

Where have a picture like that appeared before?

What an appropriate likeness.

But Kate, that is not fair. Everyone knows the environment is about climate change and CO2 and not the place around you environment ... er ...

But seriously, the climate change scare mongers have done a very good job of equating climate change and CO2 with the environment, and they are not the same. I often think that people equate a dirty environment with climate change. They equate soot and particles in the air like pollution in Toronto and LA and the other big cities with CO2. They don't need to be told smog is bad - - - they breath bad every day.

In their minds it is the same as CO2.

From Lord Monckton :

"Today the gloves came off and the true purpose of the “global warming” scare became nakedly visible. Hugo Chavez, the Socialist president of Venezuela, blamed “global warming” on capitalism – and received a standing ovation from very nearly all of the delegates, lamentably including those from those of the capitalist nations of the West that are on the far Left – and that means too many of them."

Italy is the same, when I was there in September I was immediately accosted by one of the locals about a few fishermen 3000 miles from my home in Newfoundland who kill some seals. Meanwhile the ditches are lines with garbage because Europeans are too superior to actually look after their country.

If throwing money at "developing" nations is the solution then how come Africa is not an example of advanced urban development?
(Rhetorical question.......)

The reason is the same as to why within a century or two a few europeans succeeded in conquering the whole $%^& world......

Having lived in Mexico City for two years let m just say that any environmental award Mexico recieves is ill-gotten. The smog is the worst part and the official attempt to clean up the smog called "Hoy No Circula" is rife with corruption. About $23 will buy you a zero sticker that allows one to drive 24/7 regardless if it is a hybrid or a 40 year old VW...but who wants to drive there? If the road tax doesn't stiff you the Transito (transit police) will. In 2 years I was pulled over 40 times to have my papers seen by the police only to drum up some false offence which $50 could fix on the spot. My Alberta plates were a magnet for cops seeking to get rich quick. This is what we are headed towards with Copenhagen...a shakedown by corrupt nations because we have the tag of "Alberta oil sands". Nothing a lot of money won't be able to fix...until they want more. Harper/Prentice don't sign that (dis)agreement!

Is it correct that cap & trade would cost each Canadian taxpayer an additional $3,000 per year? I'm not sure I have seen this figure mentioned here before, if so, I would have been even more outraged sooner.

Can anyone explain to me why the asshole Brown is still Prime Minister of ANYTHING?

That's the crappiest trophy I've ever seen. I think the queen must be regifting some of the presents that Obama gave her. Did they take off the "That was easy" sticker?

I sure hope that everybody has been emailing Prentice, PMSH, Chuck Strahl (Just 'casue he might be able to get through to Prentice) plus your own MP.

I'm prepared for a huge let down but I'm hoping that PMSH walks out.

Of course!
Peace prizes where there is no peace, so the same goes for the environment.
