Remember folks, these are the TOLERANT ones these lieberals. Pity the very clowns that believe totally in evolution never evolve themselves. Lieberals come directly from monkeys here is the proof, Conservatives didn't put enough of these monkeys in zoos when we had the chance.

If the tables were reversed you could bet that the liberal establishment would be howling.

Iggy should apologize for the few miscreants in his party. After all, they're not all bad, just a few.

Harper should accept and the matter is done with.

This is the work of infantile fools. How they can be taken seriously as a political party is beyond my comprehension.

If refusing to sign on to some stupidity-driven, hysterically presented and fraudulent deal is seen as harmful to our economy, I think we'll take our chances.

Posted by: greyburr at December 15, 2009 10:46 AM

Let me get this straight. The LPC posted a picture of Harper being assassinated? In a world where government leaders literally risk their lives to assume public office, this is not funny. The security force surrounding Harper isn't there for show.

By the way, you should read some of the Huffington Post comments on the attack on Berlusconi.

My God these people are stupid.

The desperation of these people! Calling for the assasination of a Prime Minister, any Prime Minister. If this was the US, they would be getting a visit from the secret service.

Now, of course, this is Canada. So we will get the Puffin story running on the CBC for the next five weeks, two more documentaries on Karl Heinz Schreiber and a showing of An Inconvenient Truth about 8 more times. Any mention of the liarberals advocating the murder of our PM, 0, Nada, Zilch, Nothing!

Posted by: Chris in the Bridge at December 15, 2009 10:51 AM

Copenhagen and 'climate change' are the cover for what is a deeper problem, which is the mindless, emotional-laded strategy of the Liberal Party.

To set up a contest, based around a visual statement (a poster) rather than an analytic statement (a debate, an argument)..means that you are asking only for statements of hyperbole, of emotional extravagance. That's the nature of a poster.

And, since you are accepting the AGW as a non-debatable truth, you have removed the use of reason from the situation.

Then, you narrow this emotional hyperbole down and locate it in one person. This sets up demonization.

And that's what the Liberal Party did. This is a political party that aspires to govern? A party that rejects Reason, Debate and instead operates within Dogma and Demonization? Hmmm.

Posted by: ET at December 15, 2009 10:51 AM

Can someone please clarify: Did the Liberals actually select the Ruby/Oswald/Harper photoshop as one of the seven "best"?

If true, that does indeed seem to increase their culpability.

Its a good thing liberals are more tolerant that the rest of us.... otherwise someone might think they are responsible for this.

This is obviously a Neo-con plot hatched by Harper and carried out by his evil minions. They hacked the website and defaced it in an attempt to smear the poor innocent tolerant liberals.... it is the only reasonable answer.

Posted by: cal2 at December 15, 2009 11:07 AM

This must be a very hard time for liberals, no power, no glory and no graft money.

People naturally distrust others until they get to know them, in the case of liberals you can never trust them regardless of how long you have known them. With these types of people, ideology, as I have to agree, really does trump facts, loyalty and reality. What small people.

My recollection is that this was a photo taken following the J.F.Kennedy assassination. It showed jack Ruby shooting Harvey Oswald at the Dallas police garage. I'm sure many of us remember seeing this live on TV.
When any organization sets out to find satire, they invite any and all to display these morbid thoughts.
The issue is not that some creep would manipulate and post this picture. The immaturity of people who would risk this kind of sick stuff in order to find something or anything to gain advantage
shows just how desperate they are.
The fact that this web site would risk ethical damage tells a great deal about the character of those in charge of the LPC.
They can't say they didn't know the risks and they certainly were prepared to roll the dice.
Pretty sad stuff indeed!

Posted by: melwilde at December 15, 2009 12:09 PM

What is it the NDP have always pretended they were, "The Conscience of Parliament" or some similar newspeak pose?

Let's see if they've got one, a conscience that is.

As an aside, do people know that Jack Ruby(pictured shooter) was connected to the Chicago mafia and was a key informant for the FBI and an aid to Congressman Richard Nixon during his investigation on the House Un-American Activities Committee (HUAC) Alger Hiss spy case?

Had conservatives ignored this type of thing, it might stay-up a little or much longer. The longer a pic like that stands, the more people will see it exposing the Liberals for exactly what they are.

Kinsella says it was "dumb". Not wrong, not disgusting, not evil, not an act of hate, - just dumb.

In other words he approves of the content but not the public consequences.

These images were screened before they went online at the LPC site. Clearly at least one and probably many more within the party were okay with the image. They should be fired.

Imagine if the GOP had posted a similar image of Obama. Do you think Obama worshipper Kinsella would say that it was "dumb" and leave it at that?

The cartoon you've posted with Stephen Harper being assassinated is the worst of the bunch but it isn't the only one that shows a disturbing psychology amongst more than a few Liberal Party members.

I wonder if the contributors are aware that the Nazis in Germany used cartoons in the 1930's to belittle, demean, and dehumanize all Jews? I wrote about this awhile back. Though the aforementioned posting is focused on similar tactics by U.S. Democrats, the sickness is precisely the same.

Ooh boy, look out everyone! Brace yourself for an unprecedented onslaught of media condemnation from the Star, the Globe, CBC, CTV, etc. The Conservatives were widely condemned by these outlets for the - quaint by comparison - Puffin-poop ads, so you can be sure that a photo, on the official Liberal website, of Stephen Harper being shot and killed will result in endless discussions about how vile and nasty and dangerous the Liberals are, and about how they have brought the level of political discourse in the country to a new low, and are importing American-style character-assassination politics into Canada, etc., etc.

/sarc

Seriously, though, as other commenters have noted, if a photoshopped picture of Dion being murdered were displayed on the official Conservative Party website, it would be turned into a *massive* scandal with wall-to-wall coverage. There'd be expressions of outrage from Canadians on the street; the "gun issue" would be re-raised, along with the Montreal massacre, of course, and various GTA "experts" and spokespeople for various NGO's would be trotted out to explain that the scandalous incident betrays the Conservatives' cavalier attitude towards guns, etc etc.

I eagerly await similar coverage on tonight's National. The moment I hear the opening music I'll hold my breath until I see the story covered.

It is rather lame considering the treatment that was given when the CPC displayed similar poor judgement. However, I really did not expect much more from the CBC.

There is certainly no question that the shooting photograph is in bad taste ... very bad taste. However, I place it in the same class as burning someone in effigy. It is something I would not do but it is not criminal. Viewers should take note that the type of radicals who would burn someone in effigy are currently influencing the LPC web site.

Posted by: grok at December 15, 2009 4:55 PM

I thought the Puffinpoop ads were silly and childish, but this is in a completely different category - it's extremely nasty and hateful, and it just might put our PM at risk if some unbalanced individual sees it as an incitement to do Stephen Harper harm.

Even the apologies are very weak and do not reflect the seriousness of the deed:

This Liberal photo was just as sick as the Conservative photo from 2008 showing bullet holes beside Stephane Dion's picture. Both these mini-scandals indicate just how out of teach each party's braintrust really is.

The irony.

If the World-tax advocates have their way, Canadians will be lucky to have a t-shirt to wear at all.
Thats the irony of that contest, all we will get is a lousy t-shirt.
No green-jobs, no mega-millions, nothing but higher taxes, onerous regulations, and a drastically reduced standard of living.

Canadians voted against a carbon tax, why do the greenies think we want to pay a world carbon tax?

Omar Khadr , biggest star of the first family of Canadian Terrorism goes to Illinois. closer to Iggys riding than Harpers.

Kaplan - the holes in the Conservative poster showing holes in a background weren't bullet holes and to make such a conclusion was pure speculation.

I had originally thought they were flowers and apart from the Dion vacuity, couldn't understand them. By the way, bullet holes, if shaped like that would have had to have come from behind Dion.
Or was it, according to the article, about holes being poked in Dion's Green Plan by ad hoc comments from various Liberals, including Ignatieff.

The Liberal poster showed the assassination of Harper; it was a clear statement of such an action. No comparison. Try again.

The liberals cannot beat Harper, so they host a fantasy of murdering him.

Yep...I'll vote for THAT gang of thieves for sure.

(Black Mamba) "I think the Criminal Code covers most assassinations, Hans.

Is there any way this might be Kinsella's fault?"

In the credits: No cat was harmed in the making of this picture.

"Imagine if the GOP had posted a similar image of Obama. Do you think Obama worshipper Kinsella would say that it was 'dumb' and leave it at that?

Posted by: Gord Tulk at December 15, 2009 1:53 PM"

Can you imagine the shock and outrage had Obama been schmucked in the face with a resin statuette?

Hard to believe an organization could lose WK and not improve. They have depth like the Leafs.

I had an anonymous troll telling me he is Jewish and not a Liberal, go on a long winded, non-sensical diatribe about how I had no right to ask some serious questions about the German Nazi Party's use of cartoons in the 1930's and the Canadian Liberals assassination fantasies and ape fantasies of Stephen Harper.

And this after I explicitly stated that I was not drawing a direct comparison. But an indirect one in terms of methods used to dehumanize people, you bet I was.

Anyhow, long ago I stopped debating with Anonymous Cowards who inhabit the Rabid Leftosphere but I am incredulous at how some of them will defend ANY & ALL bad behaviour of their hate-filled comrades.

Robert W. @ 1:21 - you are correct to raise the questions that you have - this is text book Nazi/Bolshivic tactics. Thank-you for drawing attention to the comparisons.

Good one. Thanks for the chuckle.

So the Liberal Party Of Canada see the Prime Minister of Canada being assassinated as "funny"? Kind of explains Joe Morselli's position in their party, Comedy relief.
You have to tell a psychopath when they're acting like a psychopath.
It's un F'n believable but Canada's official political debate could go any lower.
This party has nothing to do with Canadian values any more.

this picture was published in the Herald today.

strangely enough they also did an article on Khadr. the article is placed with a Telus Ad of a hippos arse which sticks prominently into the space of Khadr's happy mug. a smiling bearded one , not the usual junior high picture CBCpravda uses.

Posted by: cal2 at December 16, 2009 10:05 AM

the picture CBCpravda or CTV(tass) never shows.

I'm a lefty but this is in very poor taste.

"This morning, a senior Liberal official said the picture had been taken down. 'That one slipped by and should not have been posted,' he said. 'Mind you, coming from them, it feels like Attila the Hun complaining about the Romans’ table manners.' ”

Typical no-class Liberals.
