The cartoon is spot on, it must have hit the nerve.

Liberals have their own special way of ensuring that funny things are brought to my attention.

For that, I thank them.

Of course Newsday, after the fact, are suddenly wimps.

The name Pachycephalosaurus means "thick-headed lizard", and describes the creature's most noteworthy feature: the huge 10 inch (25 centimeter) thick bone dome on its head. - dinosaurjungle.com

Yup.

"Pachycephalosaurus means "thick-headed lizard","

hehe, I looked up Pachycephalosaurus just a few minutes ago and was going to mention the same thing.

At least the dinosaurs had the good sense to know when their time was up. Leftys on the other hand...

"Pachycephalosaurus is famous for having a large, bony dome atop its skull, up to 25 cm (10 in) thick, which safely cushioned its tiny brain."

May I suggest to readers the definitive hate crime apostasy: Episode 401 of Southpark.

It's alot more clear in pointing out the hypocrisy of 'hate crime' law.

Shouldn't their arguments be with the people who mindlessly beat up immigrants rather than cartoonists? Cartoonists only show the absurdity of life; assailants beat up people because they're jerks.
I thought the math was simple.

Good thing that beast wasn't chasing Muhammed.
That protest would have been much bigger.

So charge the perps with murder, accessory to murder, conspiracy, as well as aggravated assault (for their previous crimes).

Real charges for the real crimes they are accused of doing, with real sentences if they are found guilty, no matter who the victim is.

A criminal act against a human is an attack on society, no matter what the status of the victim may be.

The only merit I can see for a "hate crime" charge is along the lines of aggreavated intent, which (it seems to me) is covered by conspiracy.

Otherwise (in my opinion) it distracts from seriousness of the real offences (murder, assault etc) and provides a feel-good cover for second-rate justice, to the detriment of the victims and society at large.

Which is -- I believe -- the point of the cartoon.

These moronic protesters should have to take a drug test before getting the welfare check, going to sign making class and wondering around bothering a legitimate business.

Is this an Acorn operation or SEIU?

Dicks!

"Good thing that beast wasn't chasing Muhammed."

Shhh. I'm working on that.

Posted by: Kate at November 25, 2009 2:57 PM

Spot on! I love it!

Posted by: Alain at November 25, 2009 2:58 PM

Can't believe somebody actually was upset by this cartoon, it's great parody. Get him some grief counselling and let the rest of us live normally in stead of a perpetual state of victim hood.

Lefties are so feeble minded.

Posted by: ldd at November 25, 2009 3:19 PM

We see the media as an accomplice in this pathological culture delerium. I mean come now, these people are garden variety nutz - crack pot touch holes and batshit crazy. It's the voyeurism of the media which would thrust a microphone into the face of a gibbering psychotic.

I guess they think Americans like leering at other people's sickness.

"We expect the cartoons we publish... to amuse, stir and entertain, but never to offend." - Newsday spokeshuman Deidra Parrish Williams.

Spot the flaw in Deidra's worldview.

(p.s. I clicked on the cartoon and read the article 3 or 4 minutes ago. I tried it again 2 minutes ago and suddenly I get three free short paragraphs after which I need to "register". What's that about?)

Posted by: Black Mamba at November 25, 2009 3:26 PM

Simone,

Bang on.

In a poor analogy, I admit, I have equated Hate Crimes to the NHL rulebook.

We need new rules for obstruction, fighting, hitting from behind etc.. Well, no you don't, enforce the ones already on the books.

Is a hate crime the 21st Century version of "Double Secret Probation" ?

Posted by: KenAinCGY at November 25, 2009 3:54 PM

Maybe I'm thick skulled but I find it difficult to equate a cartoon that can poke fun at the ridiculousness of the PC crowd, and a crime that happened a year before. It's quite a reach but then again that doesn't slow down the fervor of the socialist leftoids in their pursuit of some nirvana dream.

Posted by: Texas Canuck at November 25, 2009 4:09 PM

The way the liberal main stream media is treating Sarah Palin and various right wing people/things/ideas is - by their own liberal standards - a hate crime.

Ironic isn't it...

Posted by: Friend of USA at November 25, 2009 4:15 PM

Gotta get the glasses checked. I thought I saw Paycheckalossaurus.

Posted by: Speedy at November 25, 2009 4:18 PM

I'm confused. I thought that after the Fort Hood incident we've been told that motive/hate isn't important. Has anyone considered that the cartoonist is simply insane?

Posted by: Indiana Homez at November 25, 2009 5:57 PM

Indy, Indy, Indy; you must understand that we can never know, or even possibly try to guess, what motivated Major Hasan, who allegedly committed this alleged massacre for totally unfathomable reasons caused by racist bullying. And even if he allegedly did "murder" 13 alleged people, there's no saying that "hate" had anything to do with it. Hate's an ugly word.

Although I suspect that what you wrote @5:57 probably does qualify as a Hate Crime.

Posted by: Black Mamba at November 25, 2009 8:02 PM

PC is starting to reach the breaking point. If someone takes it this far its near extinction Its a form of dementia. Like seeing Satan worshipers as day care workers. Soon this too will pass.
It bodes well for honesty in the future instead of the whole bundle of lies PC thinking has created in lieu of reality.

Can't believe somebody actually was upset by this cartoon, it's great parody.

Political correctness reduces our freedom in a way negatively correlated to the level of sensitivity of the world's most thin-skinned person.

That is, the thinner the skin, the fewer our freedoms.

And liberals seem okay with that.
