Big Al is going to be in the Big Smoke tonight. Any Toronto SDA'ers out there who can go and ask Al what his thought on Climategate are?

"Changes in the global economy continue to shape the world and the environment in which we live. Guests of the 2009 Allstream Global Forum will be the first in Canada to hear former U.S. Vice-President Al Gore share his new and compelling vision of how business can play a pivotal role in ensuring these changes are for the better through innovation and investment in new technology. Proceeds from the event, which will take place on November 24, 2009, at the Allstream Centre at Exhibition Place in Toronto, will go to the David Suzuki Foundation and its efforts to help transform the Canadian economy in ways that are consistent with a sustainable future. Co-founded by award-winning scientist, environmentalist and broadcaster Dr. David Suzuki, the David Suzuki Foundation is a world-renowned organization committed to helping Canadians achieve sustainability within a generation. Kate, you owe me a key board.

Now that's funny

Posted by: robins111 at November 24, 2009 6:57 PM

Love it. Video of the year.

Posted by: Ken (Kulak) at November 24, 2009 7:00 PM

Have already send it to my lefty brainwashed son who understands that AGW is a step toward One World Government and the fall of Capitalism.

Posted by: set you free at November 24, 2009 7:01 PM

That didn't take long - and it is sweet. I love the alarmed Christmas tree. Is that really fat Al's mouth in the tree?

Kudos to the makers of this catchy tune.

Posted by: Jema54 at November 24, 2009 7:02 PM

Bravo. A classic song made even better. I have the (hacked lol) data burned to a cd and now after hearing that song I think I am going to have to get a "Hide The Decline" T-shirt as well. Hopefully this will be a moment in history that we will all never forget.

The tune was called "Draggin' the Line", late sixties?,Tommy James and the Shondells,I think.

Beautiful parody of Gore and the AGW crowd!

A blow-by-blow account from the original FOI claimant: (It's long and demands concentration in the reading, but ties in the e-mails with hostorical events).

Somebody has to do a Fat AlGore now. Hey hey hey!

I'd do it myself, but I'm not very good with animation.

Posted by: Edward Teach at November 24, 2009 7:33 PM

When they start mocking you you're finished.

Posted by: Warren Z at November 24, 2009 7:35 PM

How long before somebody puts up a READ_ME_HARRY video?

Posted by: foobert at November 24, 2009 7:37 PM

Kate, you are the best!

LMAO!!!!

Posted by: Vikki at November 24, 2009 7:38 PM

OT...A new poll regarding climate scientists is up at the Toronto Sun.

Posted by: Al W at November 24, 2009 7:53 PM

Hi,
It gets even funnier!
Try googling "climate emails" and I'm feeling lucky.
comes up with the RealClimate site with the "sorry, the dog ate my homework" page!

Posted by: Tom at November 24, 2009 7:54 PM

That's as good as that old favourite...

"Hey Mr. Taliban...."

Posted by: sasquatch at November 24, 2009 7:55 PM

Love the video...humming it as I cooked dinner.

Also, I liked the fact that Micheal Mann's face was superimposed onto the body as the main character. Somehow it is easier to feel disgust for a scumbag when you know what he looks like.

Micheal Mann...watch out, Senator Inhofe is coming after you, and I hope jail time is in your future.

Posted by: John at November 24, 2009 8:16 PM

Is the number of views frozen at 323 ?

Posted by: David at November 24, 2009 8:26 PM

What Warren Z said at 7:35.

Plus...
I hope Gore ends up being Killer's (from the video) b*tch.

Posted by: The Glengarrian at November 24, 2009 8:34 PM

you should hear what Gore's been saying about Alberta the last couple of days. oilsands, destruction, armaggedon, evil, hellfire, or something.

Posted by: shel at November 24, 2009 8:40 PM

Hide the decline! Woo-Hoo! The utimatwe slogan!!!

Posted by: RW at November 24, 2009 8:44 PM

Just brilliant. Just brilliant. Mockery and ridicule is just SOOOOO juaty for these arrogant bastards!

Posted by: RW at November 24, 2009 8:58 PM

Good Video.
By the way the Sun Poll shows 85 percent don't trust the scientists on climate change.

Posted by: Ghost of Ed at November 24, 2009 9:03 PM

http://www.torontosun.com/poll/

Do you trust scientists when it comes to providing reliable climate change information?

Yes 16%
No 84%

Total Votes for this Question: 541

The original Draggin the line was indeed by Tommy James, but was released as a solo single in 1971 after the breakup of the group. Now I will have that tune in my head for the next few days. Thanks for that Kate. Though the lyrics are pretty funny.

Posted by: gobi desert at November 24, 2009 9:21 PM

Why don't we see interviews like this on Canadian TV.

Ridicule is the most powerful weapon. I'm going to watch that YET AGAIN!!!

Hey Pachuri, of the IPCC, has a personal web site; don't remember the coordinates. I posted: Go back to driving trains as the IPCC is toast.

Seek it out and do yoyur best.

Posted by: RW at November 24, 2009 9:27 PM

The left would always talk of right wing conspiracies: 9/11; Bush; WMD and so forth.

Now we have absolute proof of a vast left-wing conspiracy between the UN, EU, AGWs and the media.

Love it!

Glenn Beck is up on You Tube

Thanks for that Glenn.

Canadian MSM hunker down and hide, but then after all they have been the drivers of Kyoto, "Global Warming" for years.
Now they are about to eat their sh** !

Posted by: Joe Molnar at November 24, 2009 9:49 PM

That was very well done.

Posted by: Revnant Dream at November 24, 2009 9:58 PM

I can introduce my kids to a classic song while educating them on the eeeevilllls of social engineering.

Posted by: doninamore at November 24, 2009 10:17 PM

Man, that's embarrassing. I'm in Anmore, not Amore.

Posted by: doninanmore at November 24, 2009 10:18 PM

Very clever!

And Mann, keep your stick on the ice!

Great video Kate , sadly all wrong , but great none-the-less.
Check out James Lovelocks ( you know the guy , he saved the planet once by inventing the machine which found the Ozone hole , worked as Scientist for NASA ) new book Gaia the final warning, yeah it's all in there , then get back to video making , with all those Republicans you have got plenty of material.
Cheers Wylie

Posted by: Wylie at November 24, 2009 10:37 PM

Wylie, I have not read the book to which you refer, but in the summary on Amazon it states "some readers will be appalled by his contention that democracy may need to be abandoned to appropriately confront the challenge."

That's really what AGW and other doomsday scenarious are all about, isn't it?

But people are beginning to catch on to trick - pardon the pun.

If this were just about the environment that would be one thing, but it's not. The environment, and science, have become the carrier organisms for an underlying disease called socialism.

Posted by: TJ at November 24, 2009 11:26 PM

I love the part with Gore behind bars with a couple of large size guts. Al's going to be somebody's bitch.

Posted by: bob c at November 24, 2009 11:58 PM

sorry, should have been guys, not guts.

Finally Goldstein weighs in:

But in another article Don Pleat chooses to quote David Miller, 'scientific expert', instead of actually reporting the news,

After all, sustainability means running the global environment - Earth Inc. - like a corporation: with depreciation, amortization and maintenance accounts. In other words, keeping the asset whole, rather than undermining your natural capital.

I wanted to find another quote, some thing about bringing down the modern industrial world, so i googled for M S quotes.

Personaly I won't feel any satisfaction in this until they start making arrests.

Posted by: orvict at November 25, 2009 9:24 AM

TJ and orvik are right on the money. Their assessment is exactly what it is all about.

Posted by: Ken (Kulak) at November 25, 2009 11:54 AM

Thanks for posting the vid, smalldead.

The Tommy James song that this song is parodying is I believe, where the term "Treehugger" comes from.

The original lyric was "huggin a tree when you get near it" I replaced that line with "you should've chopped me trees instead of "huggin them".

Oh and I think my Hide The Decline shirt kicks but!

I don't know if a link with audio on it will work, but the URL leads to a page with a song that was written just before the release of the Climategate material.
