She comes with a string attached (literally) and you can pull it only once. She shouts "allahu ackbar" three times and her suicide belt detonates.
Great fun at Bar Mitzvahs and cocktail parties at the university faculty club!
ALSO buy Sharia Ken, complete with mini AK47 and 4' scimitar ready to use if he catches Sharia Barbie behind the wheel of his new Mercedes! Those Krazy Kids!
Posted by: Noam Chumpsky at November 22, 2009 10:14 AMDoes it come with a mini surgical kit, including rusty old dull knives to perform clitorectomies ?
Posted by: Fred at November 22, 2009 10:25 AMHow do we know it's not GI Joe under there?
Posted by: gord at November 22, 2009 10:27 AMAh, there seems to be a problem here as the dolls themselves are "idols" which are forbidden to those under the spiritual care of some of the more enthusiastic lead practitioners of the faith. A catch phrase like "Want to get stoned?" might work if the dolls can talk.
Where is the Mullah al Quen doll?
Posted by: Sgt Lejaune at November 22, 2009 10:41 AMReally, what little girl doesn't dream of dressing her favorite doll in a tent?
Posted by: KingShamus at November 22, 2009 10:43 AMOh Oh. Don't let the authorities see Sharia Barbie out on a date unescorted with Taliban Ken.
Posted by: Prof Lori at November 22, 2009 11:25 AMWhat is interesting is that, isn't this doll making a statement that dressing this way is a CULTURAL rather than religious act?
After all, we've yet to see a Barbie Doll dressed as a nun. Or in traditional Jewish style (women with head covering/wig). Same with Ken - has there been one of him dressed as a priest? Or rabbi or even in Hassidic style?
Posted by: ET at November 22, 2009 11:30 AMSharia Barbie's "Little Bride Sister Doll" sold separately, includes wedding gift accessories necessary for any grooms family to be paid in full, er - pleased in full.
Packs of Sharia Barbie babies also available; males sold separately from females.
"I think this is really important for girls, wherever they are from they should have the opportunity to play with a Barbie that they feel represents them...the message with Barbie for women is you CAN BE whatever you want to be."
Like women in Islam have any choice in what they can be. What a joke.
If the brainiacs at Mattel think this will fly maybe they've got plans bet for little boys to line up for Sharia Ken. Fully accessorized with whip, knife and AK-47 for Burka Barbie beatings and honor killings. If Mattel wants some balance in a human rights debate they're stirring up, maybe they should consider selling these little guys: http://www.vidoemo.com/yvideo.php?i=MnN5RU05cWuRpZ00yM28&team-america-world-police-gary-remember-the-signal=
Yet another brown brick in the wall brought to free societies by the fine multi-cult folks who believe that all cultures -not individuals- are equal.
Burka Barbie is as about as useful as a Palestinian Alarm Clock
Bet you that these Barbies come with their clothes glued on! You wouldn't want to see a Barbie without her burkha.......
Posted by: MaryM at November 22, 2009 12:07 PMDolls are graven images and are forbidden in Islam.
Posted by: Oz at November 22, 2009 12:21 PMLargs, thanks for my morning laugh. Glad I didn't have a mouthful of coffee at that moment!
;)
Posted by: Colin from Mission B.C. at November 22, 2009 12:32 PMSeems like there's no end to the pandering to Islam.
btw, has there ever been a "Native North American" Barbie?
If so,great,if not,I'm contacting Mattel immediately about this racist slight!
Oh yeah, what about "Lesbian Barbie"? Hm?!
Posted by: dmorris at November 22, 2009 12:46 PMThis issue is very onesided. There is a major toy producer in Europe that a few years ago produced a series of toy figures for boys, Knights and Arabs. The Arab figurines have since been removed from production. Maybe they were too "politicaly correct" for the open market!
Posted by: Antenor at November 22, 2009 1:01 PMActually dmorris, I do recall one, the Pokhontas(SP) Doll, when the movie came out. Not sure if it was a Mattel product or some other mfgr..
Does the doll come with a clitorectomy?
Posted by: Atlas is Shrugging at November 22, 2009 1:37 PMYep, and Taliban Ken will come with a goat
that he can "bother".
Metro-Malibu Mohammed and his life-partner Barry? (full body wax edition) ...

You know, I don't think I want to live in the same world as Burkha Barbie.
Posted by: Black Mamba at November 22, 2009 2:17 PMWhere's the six year-old bride Barbie?
Are stoning stones an accessory to be bought separately?
Is there a Taliban Ken complete with beating sticks, AK for soccerfield executions and his pet goat?
Are they releasing a Beheaded Barbie and Arranged Marriage Barbie?
Marketing people. Marketing...
Posted by: Curious at November 22, 2009 2:36 PMDoes anyone recall an old article on the nw retired blog called 'USS Clueless', by Stephen den Beste, where he talked about a 'burqa barbie'?
Posted by: rmgk at November 22, 2009 2:51 PMNever mind...I found it!

Posted by: rmgk at November 22, 2009 2:58 PMCouldn't you guys have found a different name for Burka Babes male counterpart?
Posted by: Ken (Kulak) at November 22, 2009 3:24 PMAnd the specter of barbaric Islam wins another small battle in the overthrow of Western civilization, without firing a shot.
Posted by: Colin from Mission B.C. at November 22, 2009 3:43 PMdoes it come with the hospital barbie doll to so she can patch her wounds after each beating ?
Paul in calgary
Posted by: paul at November 22, 2009 4:32 PMKen will be called Khadr.
Posted by: cal2 at November 22, 2009 6:59 PMI heard the Prophet Mohammed doll didn't go over so well.
Posted by: Harry at November 22, 2009 7:18 PMI thought this was a hilarious joke, that Kate was putting us on. Hahahahahahahahaha ...
Then I read the article in the link. What's the fun in putting a burqa on Barbie? I mean, Barbie used to have a tent to go camping in, but to dress in?
Uh uh.
Posted by: batb at November 22, 2009 7:51 PMET, absolutely it is a cultural thing not religious. Although the Islamists claim it is religious, it is not so. Having lived in a non Arab, non Islamic, Muslim country, I can confirm that one never ever saw a veiled woman and nothing in the line of a burka. The dolls therefore represent a culture that places little, if any, value on women other than to produce children. They deserve better.
Posted by: Alain at November 22, 2009 8:03 PMAlain---according to the haddith---one evening the Prophet and his wife were out strolling and met some male acquaintances. After greeting and parting the Prophet overheard one to remark "wonder who he's with tonight?"(or words to that effect.
The Prophet called them back and ripped the veil from his wife----the men apologize and apparently from that day forward none of his wives or daughter(s) were ever veiled in public.
But then.....the Prophet married a 9 year old, was illiterate and had syphilis....
Conception to birth 5-7 years???
So many questions......
Irshad Manji is recommending that everyone send the new Canadian Citizenship guide to their representatives as a model for other countries to follow, regarding Sharia Law and the treatment of females.
Irshad Manji (Continued) When you write to your politicians, include the link to Canada's new citizenship guide and suggest that instead of simply speaking out against honor crimes, your own governments could follow Canada's example and update their citizenship guide too. Here's the page you can send them: http://bit.ly/7fL9Nl. What do you all think of this idea??
Posted by: Kyla at November 22, 2009 9:13 PMThey had a lesbian Barbie, she was called Midge. She didn't last in the Barbie culture. All Barbies are sans clitoris already, then Ken also has no external genitalia. So, maybe they could go out in public together under Sharia.
Posted by: Kyla at November 22, 2009 9:17 PMAll my sister's barbies were lesbians, at least when I got ahold of them. Giggity giggity goo.
Posted by: wuberman at November 22, 2009 9:23 PMThis makes me long for the good old days, when feminists complained that Barbie dolls were dressed too provocatively.
No complaints from them about this, though, so I guess they'd rather see us in burkhas than bikinis.
Sigh.
Barbara
I wuz puzzeled back then when it was decided that a fit and attractive Barbie was a bad influence on young girls.
Feminists, liberals and socialists hate beauty; especially that of a woman. For incite and perspective on this I recommend Terry Goodkind's novel "Faith of the Fallen".
Posted by: Indiana Homez at November 23, 2009 12:04 PMYou guys are so paranoid it insults me. You need some medications that's for sure.
Posted by: ok4ua at November 23, 2009 7:31 PMHow do you guys get away with promoting hate?
Posted by: ok4ua at November 23, 2009 7:44 PMIs the lighter and gasoline for the barbaric, cultural honor killings also sold separately?
