I've a lot on my plate today, so blogging will be a bit slow for the next few hours.
I will add however, that at some point later today SDA is likely to reach our 15 million visit mark.
From the comments - "That 'lots on your plate' wouldn't have anything to do with opening day of whitetail season in Sask now, would it?"
Heh. 15 million visits, a "new" Ford 150, and the first doe of the season hanging in the shed. It's a good day.
Kathy Shaidle sends a congratulatory email - 'tis the season!

Hopefully, you're only referring to a busy (but rewarding) day.
Cheers,

Well many of us just can't start our day without stopping off here to catch what is really happening, I have not watched the MSN "News" for a long time and I am much happier (not yelling at the tv) and better informed as to what is really going on in Canada and around the world. Thanks Kate!
Cheers Bubba
I offer heartfelt congratulations to our gracious hostess! I had heard of small dead animals for quite some time, but only visited for the first time during the 2008 federal election. It has become a near daily routine for me to visit, lurk, and sometimes post ever since.
Again, congratulations, Kate!

Posted by: Jake at November 16, 2009 12:28 PMCool. Nothing to sneeze at, that's for sure.
Much more than my nearly quarter-million visits since 9/2005.
But the daily visitation stats on my own site do keep on rising, steadily. Now my daily average is over 400.

Posted by: Merle Underwood at November 16, 2009 1:05 PMThank you Catherine "Kate" McMillan for this Canadian conservative blog, now hitting the 15 million mark.
A beacon of sanity in land of political correct insanity aided and abetted by a once relevent "Fourth Estate" into nothing more than a mindless echo chamber of leftist agenda driven papp.
Global warming and carbon trading Ponzi schemes swallowed whole from the likes of Maurice Strong, UN's Banki Moon, Al Gore, Suzuki, et al and disseminated as 'TRUTH' to the gullible masses.
At the very least, the advent of the internet, and your website "Small Dead Animals", is putting the lie to Canadian MSM for posterity in this time, on this plane of existence.
I for one will be voting for SDA whatever "best" category it is nominated in!!
I wonder how much Cat's Meat Kinswaila would have to pay to get his stats pumped up like that?
:D

Just uploading a pic now, for the really really bored among you. It's not a 4x4 - I don't need to get stuck that badly.

I still think this is one of the best things I've read on the internet, I pointed it out to some friends the other day:
"Why this blog?
Until this moment
I have been forced
to listen while media
and politicians alike
have told me
"what Canadians think".
In all that time they
never once asked.
This is just the voice
of an ordinary Canadian
yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me." "
Oh, and Riders by 13

It would be fascinating to know what percentage of the Canadian population had visited SDA at least once. My guess is between one and two per cent, making for an average of perhaps 30-40 visits per ... and as most of us regular types are probably up around a few thousand or more, there must be many one or two time visitors -- perhaps they expected to find small dead animals here, or were looking for the mall of dead animals, or were just plain lost.
Although this is a great accomplishment, I think we could all agree that if we added this reality check to the reality check of actual visits to other conservative sites, the stark truth of the matter is that 90 to 98 per cent of the adult population are living in relative ignorance despite being wired into the world wide web (of deceit). When you think about it this way, Canada would only stand much of a chance of seeing real progress on certain issues if sites like this had fifty or a hundred million hits, because that's what it would take to open more eyes to what's really going on (with climate change, for instance). I'm sure that SDA is moving in the right direction, but those who are moving in the wrong direction could be going faster for all we know.

Thanks for keeping us informed and 'entertained'.
I wonder if this will be brought up in the HofC...."Mr. Speaker,it has come to our attention that a Conservative website in Saskatchewan is receiving more visits than all the Liberal sites combined. This is outrageous. Can anyone explain this huge discrepancy?". Congratualations!!

Posted by: Jan at November 17, 2009 8:53 AMCongrats, Kate.
I fully agree with you about not needing a 4x4; if you need it to get unstuck, you shouldn't have gone there in the first place.
Ford F-150? These days, it doesn't seem to matter too much who of the "big three" made the vehicle. Many of the components for all of them are made by Magna, etc., anyway.
If you want that truck to last as long as the Dodge did, pull that plastic box-liner out (unless it's a spray-on). They mostly just hold the moisture and salt in, and the bed rusts out sooner...
Posted by: Mad mike at November 17, 2009 9:18 AMJust a note for any Canadian MSM who lurk at this site, The O'Reilly Factor, Glenn Beck and Laura Ingraham are aware of the blog "Small Dead Animals" this morning and the fifteen million hits SDA has received.
Will a Canadian MSM journo even comment on their respective medium regarding SDA today?
Not likely.
When my better half spots hunters in tree blinds along the Platte, several blasts on the locomotive horn shatters the silence and scatters the herds. Levels the playing field and increases the "sporting" component. Nuge, love you man but the ethics in today's hunting is about on a par with that of journalism.
Posted by: Mazzuchelli at November 17, 2009 2:56 PMKate the Great - thankyou for sda. You have saved my sanity and made me laugh for years. The MSM is backward, boring, misinformed and bland.
