You are so right. Muslims treat women like baby making machines; the whole theme of Mark Steyn's America Alone was this demographic failure. That's why they don't want them to go school, as the more educated a woman is, the fewer children she bears.

As the father of two beautiful and intelligent girls, I want them to go to university, and have great careers. But I wonder if that aspiration (shared by many, I'm sure) could doom Canada in the long run? As Steyn pointed out, in a democracy, numbers eventually win. In less than 20 years, Muslims will be in a majority in France and Britain. Will we see the overthrow of Western ideals? It's going to take longer in Canada, but if we keep our current immigration policy, it's inevitable.

Indeed we do have a serious problem, since the Ft. Hood terrorist attack is only one of many since 9/11 throughout the West. I note one thing stands out from our side, and it is that in every single case the MSM, the authorities and the chattering class claimed the perpetrator was a victim of some sort and refused any link to Islam. There is no need to paint all Muslims with the same brush, but it is imperative to accept that there is a clear connection with the followers and supporters of militant Islamism.

I too am the father of two girls and I've toiled with the same dilemma. I will recommend to get their educations but I will also council them to find a good man with good family values and start your family early. My wife and I went against conventional wisdom(ironic isn't it) and committed to each other, got married and had kids while young. I reject the theory that career is most important and family planning should take a back seat. My wife and I seem to be much happier than our peers who have expensive stuff but delayed commitment and kids until later. JMO. I'm happy to say that at 35 my wife and I can go out when we want, and leave our kids at home. Life is good when your kids are grown.

Why is racism always a one-way street? In the West, racism seems to imply whites who are prejudiced against darker skinned people.

I'd suggest we have as many darker skinned people, especially of militant Islamist orientation, who are prejudiced against lighter skinned people and are taking things into their own hands to punish and humiliate.

Why is this acceptable when, clearly, the obverse situation is not? Reverse racism is just as despicable as the "old fashioned" white-against-black kind.

I note the similarities and the differences between the massacres carried out by Lepine/Gharbi. 20 years ago, and Hasan last week. Generations of differences change the old war tune "Over There" to "Over Here", in a stunningly barbaric fashion. What "gets in their heads" is there from birth, and there would be no sure way to vanquish this other than via the holocaustic methods which freedom-loving people abhor and freedom-prohibitive people deny. A dear departed friend of mine who was an accomplished veteran from the battlefields of North Africa in WW2 once made the comment "you can't trust an Arab". I was startled by this statement the instant he said it, turned off by the smell of prejudice, but he spoke it from experience, adding that you should never turn your back on one. If he had lived longer, he would have witnessed the affirmation of his admonition many times over, from the sneak-attack hijackings of commercial airliners to the beheadings of hostages, right through the planting of bombs and wacking of peacekeepers to the current internal murderous sabotage and betrayal which now tops the list of Fort Hood's unfortunate attributes. Truly, there is no discrimination here, just the wisdom that comes from experience that we must safeguard our future from those insanely determined to take it away.

I disagree - all religion is a learned trait. No one is born with faith.

But what really bugs me is that Muslims can't get along with anyone else. Unless they dominate a country, they are always complaining and trying to change the rules. Here in Toronto, the Sikhs, Hindus, Buddhists, Jews, and Christians all live together without fighting. But the imams are agitating constantly, trying to impose sharia when we have a society that doesn't discriminate because of one's religion. I am still reminded of Judge Sidney Linden and his sentence of Mark Harding. Harding, a Christian preacher, had handed out leaflets at a High School. The leaflets quoted the Koran and so on.
