You bet!
Posted by: CERDIP at October 31, 2009 10:51 PMSpeaking of scary: I saw the cover of P.E. Trudeau's latest biography. Before I read the printing I looked at the picture and thought, "Now why would they write a book about Beetlejuice."
Of course Beetlejuice was far less able to inflict damage but the physical appearances are strikingly similar.

Posted by: ∞² at October 31, 2009 11:17 PMI was thinking that Akroyd would pop out looking like Hedy Fry - and he did!!!!!!!!!

Posted by: Louise at November 1, 2009 12:52 AMOne of my favourite movies! It was unfortunate that Vic Morrow was killed during the filming of his Viet Nam scene. Thanks for sharing this shocking opening segment, and for the reminder that it would be really scary to have a Liebral government back at Canada's helm.
Posted by: Tripper523 at November 1, 2009 1:35 AMsomeone should cut and paste Iggy's head on the monster. now that would be scary
Posted by: dj at November 1, 2009 9:45 AMThe scariest part was that I spent seven minutes watching those two 80's dweebs for a lame punchline.
Posted by: Doug at November 1, 2009 10:15 AMAgreed, Joe, about PET's resemblance to Beetlejuice. I NEVER understand Pierre's allure to women; he gave me the creeps.
And, the older he got, the more reptilian his face became: slit eyes, skin pulled taut over the bones, mean mouth. He reminds me of the Portrait of Dorian Gray, his face reflecting the realities of his life. He was a spoiled, mean man who used his political power to turn Canada into his personal socialist experimental playground. 'Hasn't worked for most of us.
Now, THAT'S scary.
Posted by: batb at November 1, 2009 10:21 AMHe's BBBBAAAAAAAAAACCCCCCCCKKKK!
Theses words from PET's spawn at a recent Librano dinner..
Trudeau said a Liberal government, among other priorities, would invest in education.
“Our biggest resource is not our agriculture, it’s not our fisheries, it’s not our oil and gas. It’s the people of Canada and this is why we must invest in education,” he said. “We need a government that thinks long-term, that is honest with its citizens, and a government that sees itself, fundamentally, as a force for good,” he said.
Trudeau the Younger via The Glengarrian: "“We need a government that thinks long-term, that is honest with its citizens, and a government that sees itself, fundamentally, as a force for good.”
I wonder what government he could possibly be talking about? Surely, not his father's Librano$?

...And I was thinking those most valued resource "people" that JT was referring to might well be the same ones his old Pa Pee-air flipped the bird to years back.
I remember an old political cartoon with Pierre Trudeau caricatured as ET. The caption was "The P.E.T: He is 3 million light years away from a balanced budget"
Posted by: excanadian at November 1, 2009 10:36 PMOk, I know I'm late to this one...but my gosh John Fogerty puts out some great songs.
