In The Immortal Words Of Tasnim Aslam*

"Anyone who describes Islam as a religion as intolerant encourages violence".

Two Chicago men have been charged in what officials said was a plot to attack employees of a Danish newspaper that in 2005 published cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad that offended many Muslims, according to criminal complaints unsealed Tuesday in federal court in Chicago.

The most serious charges, conspiracy to murder and maim in a foreign country, were filed against David Coleman Headley, who was born in the United States, lived in Pakistan and now resides in Chicago.

The federal authorities said Mr. Headley told agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation that he had initially targeted a building occupied by the Danish newspaper, Morgenavisen Jyllands-Posten in Copenhagen, but later proposed killing the paper’s cartoonist and cultural editor instead.

The arrests were the latest in what federal officials acknowledged was a surprising surge of unrelated terrorism arrests in recent weeks, highlighted by last month’s indictment of Najibullah Zazi, a Denver airport shuttle bus driver who has been accused of conspiring to detonate improvised explosives in an attack against an undetermined target, possibly in New York.

The officials offered no specific reason for the increased arrests, though they said some cases involved young men in the United States inspired to militancy by fiery religious appeals on the Internet and in other media outlets rather than by direct contact with terrorist groups.

In contrast, Mr. Headley, 49, who changed his name from Daood Gilani in 2006, and another man, Tahawwur Hussain Rana, 48, are older with seemingly more substantial ties to their communities. Mr. Rana is a businessman who was born in Pakistan and is now a Canadian citizen living legally in Chicago.

Mr. Rana, who is accused of providing material support to terrorism, has known Mr. Headley since they attended the same military school in the Pakistani town of Hasan Abdal, federal officials said. Mr. Rana is accused of using a travel agency to help Mr. Headley arrange visits to Pakistan and two trips this year to Denmark.

I am so sick of hearing about these losers who come to Canada, take out a citizenship that we seem to give out like bubble gum cards, and then proceed to trash the values that built our society. But I'm even sicker of hearing the media refer to them as "Canadian". They are citizens of convenience, nothing more, and I wish we'd stop letting them in.

I think the word starting with "P" commonly associated with cats and wimps best describes these losers.

Oddly enough, with respect to our "Overseas Contingency Operations" DSMD's (Derogatory Statements of Mass Destruction) are some of the most feared and effective weapons in our arsenal. This is why free speech is being assailed domestically and worldwide.

Tell that to Salman Rushdie, you might hear a giggle from wherever he is living in isolation.

Willing to bet the farm that we won't hear from a single lefty apologist that "not all Canadians are terrorists."

Funny OZ, Adler was just talking about using lots of paper towel when he eats and I thought about Larry.

Posted by: Indiana Homez at October 28, 2009 3:55 PM

Can we call them terrorists now? Can we point out the tremendous fallacies of the "religion of peace"?

Posted by: Osumashi Kinyobe at October 28, 2009 4:00 PM

As I said Oz, S.R's words are powerful. His particular situation is a result of western apathy. We allow free thinking citizens to be intimidated in the name of tolerance.

Okay, don't listen to me; "go with your gut!" lol

Highlight of the season(so far): "I'm going to my room with this mutha f'n Chinese food is what I'm doing"

I'm still laughing at that!

How about:
"The pen is mightier than the sword, when it has a sword protecting it."

Humm - another "Citizenship [terrorist] Tourist of conveniance" thanks to our liberal immigration and citizenship laws.

Wonder if he pays his Canadian taxes? He has offices in Toronto so must at least get health care and enterprize grants.

Now with the 76 Tamil terrorists that hit shore in BC - will they all get REFUGEE status and move to toronto and later become the "Toronto Tamil 8"?

Just asking.

"Feds: Leader of radical Islam group killed in raid (Imam Luqman Ameen Abdullah)

DETROIT – Federal authorities say a leader of what they describe as a nationwide radical Sunni Islam group has been fatally shot during an FBI raid in the Detroit area.

The U.S. attorney's office in Detroit says Imam Luqman Ameen Abdullah refused to surrender during an FBI raid Wednesday and was killed in an exchange of gunfire."

This story was on the cbc website yesterday---http://www.cbc.ca/world/story/2009/10/27/canadian-terror-arrest.html ---. Surprisingly the comments are about 10 to 1 against our immigration policies and the religion of peace.

KevinB, thank you for so clearly articulating something I've often thought.

Rusty at Jawa report deserves some recognition on this one, as does the FBI.

Rusty identified this story and was following it well over a week ago. Identified as someting that was out of the norm, and kept following it up. I continue to be amazed by this guys and efforts in this area. Wouldnt have known about him if I hadnt seen him referenced here at SDA.

Not directly relevant but kudos are always worth handing out.
