"I'm not going to speculate further about it, because I think the onus is on the protesters to explain this."

Yeah but if they did explain why they are such morons for trying to pull a fast one, the CBC would probably not print or air it anyhow.

What the hell happened to the concept of administering First Aid to someone presenting all outward appearances, real or contrived, of head trauma, possible concussion, facial lacerations, considerable bleeding. With HIV Aids, H1N1 and other diseases present, The Mother Corp personnel really screwed up on this one.

One can only imagine the outcry had this been a Conservative organization manifesting such callous disregard for the health and safety of Canadian Youth.

No guff here: "If it bleeds - it leads!"

BUT - If "it ain't bleeding" we'll send out the call for "make-up."

This guy is clearly a delusional crackpot. An Astroturfer. A teabagger. A left-wing extremist. Etc., etc.

And the CBC is giving him a voice.

No surprise there.

No surprise, either, that the CBC doesn't want to talk about the CHRC being investigated for corruption and fascism.

The CBC would rather talk about bizarre fantasies about the supposedly incipient end of the world and such than about real, serious stuff that matters to Canadians.

"Jeh". Poor dude. Brainwashed by the elites who use intimidating, fearmongering propaganda about fantastical environmental catastrophes in their barely-hidden agenda to impose global governance upon the People.

...anyone who simply asks about whether Obama proved to someone, anyone, that he qualifies to be President, ie. did he provide valid documentary proof that he was born on American soil (the "natural-born" requirement in the Constitution's Eligibility Clause)...

...gets ignored and derided as a lunatic, a racist, a "birther"?

What's up with this?

Oh, of course, most of us here know.

We know that the Big Media has an agenda, a political, ideological agenda.

It will promote its agenda by giving a disproportionately large voice to proponents thereof and will protect those who seek to implement it (Obama et al).

The following quote is from the Sierra Club site
at http://www.sierraclub.ca/prairie/about_us.htm

Jeh Custer has been working with Sierra Club Canada in the prairies region of Canada on issues of community sustainability, energy and climate change since 2004. Currently, Jeh is the Energy Campaigner for the Prairie Chapter where he has been a key organizer facilitating resistance to tar sands in Alberta and Saskatchewan by actively supporting movement-building opportunities for sustainability. Recently, Jeh helped to lauch a private prosecution against Syncrude, Canada's largest tar sands corporation for the deaths of 500 ducks in their tailings ponds which occurred last spring. Previously, Jeh worked with youth-run organizations, including the Sierra Youth Coalition, the Energy Action Coalition, and the Canadian Youth Climate Coalition, where he contributed to grassroots movement building and strategic campaign planning. From Jeh's perspective the tar sands represent the frontlines of struggle against colonialism, corporate hegemony, and unsustainability in the prairies region. Jeh's maps and writing on the tar sands are featured in the book Journey To The Tar Sands and in the 2008 documentary film To The Tar Sands.

The Sierra Club and Jeh: frauds.

Also, shouldn't a organization dedicated to growing multi-culti and diversity (as CBC does) have something other than 6 women and 2 men - ALL WHITE - writing on any of their blogs?

My question is what percentage of the population aged 20-30 are Jehs now aged, compared to the 1950s?

I think it's sometimes useful to have a few counterculture people - as long as they don't make up a large proportion of society, and don't ask for too much of tax money.

Somehow though, I think the percentage is significantly higher now compared to the 1950s.

It is actually worse than it appears. He wasn't 'bleeding' when he left the Hill. CBC knows this as there is video. He was 'bleeding' two hours later for the interview. Jack Layton booked the room on the Hill where they practiced their war cries. It was in support of an NDP private member's bill on the environment. The CBC as they are want to do did not follow up on the true facts the next day. Like doorknob lie and wafer lie the culpability of the ceeb is forgotten the next day. Q: We know there were pictures all over the place of Jesse with blood on his shirt. Given that Jesse was in the parking lot when Dr. King was shot, where did that come from?

A: The next morning, he flew to Chicago and went on the NBC "Today Show." In the meantime, he had hired a public relations agent. So here is a guy who is in such grief from Martin Luther King's assassination that he comes back to Chicago and has the presence of mind to have himself taken from interview to interview in a chauffeur-driven car with a P.R. agent. The P.R. agent takes him to the NBC "Today" show, he appears in a shirt that he claims is smeared with Dr. Martin Luther King's blood and he says on national television, "He died in my arms" – an absolute, patent lie.

The CBC shows no shame. On tonight's The National, a piece was run on NASA, asking the question of whether tax dollars could be better spent. Mesley mused that the gov't funding NASA receives could help to feed African children instead, and even took to the streets to get sample opinions from Canadians. Irony is clearly lost on this woman... too many years working at CBC, I suppose. I won't hold my breath for her to ask us all is the 100 million dollars per month the CBC receives could be better spent. BTW, I noticed their new design, not just graphically but set design as well. Weren't they asking for a bailout several month ago? Perhaps the cable/satellite companies can use the CBC's new set design in tough economic times (and the angle of an American consulting firm hired to advise them) to press their case in their battle against the networks.

The hippies should have been taken to task by less tolerant parents 40 years ago; if that would have happened we maybe would not have this scruffy offspring whining on T.V.

My Grandmother, one of the loveliest, most intelligent ladies I have ever known was born in 1895 - one of her most harsh yet practical sayings was: 'spare the lash, spoil the child'; my grandmother was not a child beater, her children did not need beating to pound sense into their heads - that fuzzy group looked like they have developed very thick sculls from excessive spoiling and tolerance from parents who likely said their greatest 'moment in time' was the Woodstock slug fest. Looks like another old saying is valid; "you reap what you sow'. Are their six sets of 'fest' parents proud today?

Here's a breakdown of Canada's population by age:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Canada_age_structure_2001.png

The baby boomers still dominate. What's ominous is the age 0-4 cohort is the smallest until you get to the 55-59 one, and this data is pulled from the 2001 census. Given that the birth rate has continued to go down, I'd suspect that for today, the 0-4 group would be the smallest until you reached the over 60 cohorts.

curious george said: "with capitalism it is the side effect of the concentration of wealth in the hands of an elite with a concomitant lethal drop in std of living for the poor and underprivileged"

So how exactly do you explain the standard of living in places like N.Korea vs S. Korea--a capitalistic society. Or pre-World War 2 Japan vs Japan today? Note that I use Asian countries because their populace tends to want to work. I could use all Western Europoean and N. American (Canada and US only) countries and contrast the standard of living pre-WW2 versus today (which is still better today), however, due to our fiscally irresponsible welfare state (which is a socialist idea), we have more "poor" people with big-screen TVs and living in upscale neighbourhoods in subsidized housing. Capitalism raises the level for all boats...Socialism/Communism sinks the largest boats first then systematically destroys the smaller one.

I wish you and your ilk would move to such workers' paradise(s) such as N. Korea or Cuba --just like Lee Harvey Oswald did.

Speaking of CBC, is anyone else baffled and turned off by their new news format?

Whatever happened to report after report (no matter how biased) then some editorializing at the back end (so those who just want a news update can move on)?

Now it seems to be a sort of public affairs-cum-quiz show. It seemed to take forever to grind through a few bare-bones news items last night.

Here's a tip: I'm frankly not much interested in your rainbow-diversity line-up of cub reporters.* Just give me the news, if at all possible, even if it's slanted (I can always get other perspectives elsewhere to round out my own opinion).

* Hey, sure I like a pretty face but the reporter isn't the story. And I'd love to see Adrienne Arsenault try to do a report without moving her hands - bet she'd go nuts! curious_george: "with capitalism it is the side effect of the concentration of wealth in the hands of an elite with a concomitant lethal drop in std of living for the poor and underprivileged"

That's not how it works. There is no greater concentration of wealth than under Big Government. Large corporations come and go under capitalism (look at GM). Laissez-faire capitalism is based on voluntary trade of goods and services for mutual benefit, thus it is the only political system consistent with the principles of justice. Corporate profits and a rising standard of living for the poor (and everyone else) go hand-in-hand. The problem is that we haven't had laissez-faire for decades, and we're not getting any closer to it.

claimed to a have a "digital electrolyis machine"
that would produce more energy than they put in.
needless to say, it didnt , they went belly up and a whole lot of your tax money went bye bye. I think there were 6 first nations involved. they officed out at Tsu Tina.

google tathacus or xogen.

Oh.my.dog. So relieved he's Canadian. Did you read that crap? He asked for "veggie" just so he could one-up some unsuspecting and ultimately uninterested flight attendant. And that's what it's all about.

Makes one want to smear him with bacon grease.

So the Ceeb writer noticed the scam and laid out the facts.

Even if dear little Jeh did get a bloody face courtesy of the security folks in Parliament, one thing should be manifestly obvious to anyone who saw the news footage: the young twit protesters physically resisted removal from the Commons.

It was therefore a given that some of them would "go home crying" with bruises and bloody noses.

They should count themselves lucky they weren't tazered.

We read the blog, OMMAG. I still wrote the the folks at the CBC because it hardly seems to me that a question raised in a blog really addresses the untruth disseminated by a much more widely viewed television show.
