I agree Mildewild, listening to that Lynch (well named!) woman was worse than getting a extraction of an root embedded molar. She did not answer any questions, she was condescending and rude. This section 13 has no reason to exist - just scrap it. Make Warman pay back all the money he has ever been given and give that money to the victims of HRC - like Ezra, Marc, Kathey and Kate.

Having watched this yesterday live and a couple other sessions, plus Ezra and Mark Steyn's virtuoso performance before the same committee, I am struck most by the lack of concern exhibited by all participants.

This is a dog and pony show to shut us up, Harper threw us a bone but we aren't dogs thus it does not feed us or nourish us. He'll never scrap Section 13, it's time to walk away from civil debate and plan to have the entire HRC constructs destroyed for good. We the people need to take the power away from unelected stasi we do that by getting MPs who don't support free speech unelected out of office.

I love how Lynch said, in a sing-song, reassuring voice, "The (CHRC) dismissed the (Macleans) complaint, citing that the impugned content did not meet the narrow definition of hate. Let me quote from our decision: 'The writing is polemical, colourful and emphatic, and was obviously calculated to excite discussion and even offend certain readers, Muslim and non-Muslim alike. Overall however, the views expressed when considered as a whole and in context, are not of an extreme nature as defined by the Supreme Court in the Taylor decision.' Consider the revolting disingenuousness of that last bit. If the regular, i.e. legitimate justice system was considering laying charges in, say, a potential murder case over which it had jurisdiction, and then after looking at the evidence decided to dismiss the case, would it be reasonable for the Crown Prosecutor to say "(The dismissal of this case) clearly demonstrates that the justice system does not regulate murder"?

In the case of Macleans, a show trial was held with all sorts of ridiculous witnesses testifying, in a dog's breakfast of hideously time bound "concerns" that rattle around in the heads of those whose sensitivities are coddled by the state; Macleans was forced to spend their time and money to defend the publishing of a piece by an internationally renowned writer. The fact that the HRC decided to demur in an instance when it was faced not with some powerless unknown entity who will lie down but with a more powerful entity doesn't mean that "the commission does not regulate offensive speech" - just ask Rev. Boisson.

Everything that came out of Lynch's mouth was unaccountable, shape-shifting, sanctimonious, internationalist cant about how important it is for the CHRC to continue regulate offensive speech, except when she pointed out that one particular dismissal "clearly demonstrated that the commission does not regulate offensive speech."

What disturbs me the most, in light of the nature of her approach to testimony, is that she gives the impression of someone who sleeps well at night. Her attitude is: "My position is so inarguably correct as to allow me to be as logical or illogical as I want, and to move the goalposts wherever I want to, at will on the occasion of my utterance of any particular word or syllable."

I don't understand how she got the post, or how she keeps it. She's a horrifying, manifest spectre of a future ruled by utterly - totally - unaccountable mandarins. What a horrifying woman she is.

My conclusion, in a nutshell: The CHRC has no leg to stand on. Hell, it ain't even got an arse to sit on!

What I'd really like to see is the CHRC fascists be put on the stand and under oath in a REAL court of law and required to account truthfully for their fascism, with zero tolerance for irrelevant non-answers and under penalty of contempt of court & imprisonment for refusing to cooperate.

Then, and only then, can we "get 'em".

So far, they're getting away with spewing the most ludicrous, obvious, far-left gobbleddygook.

It remains to be seen whether the questioning by Parliamentarians will have been a useful exercise for them, or if they're just putting on a show to placate the People, hoping to motivate us to shut up about this very inconvenient truth, which is that the CHRC must obviously be abolished, not just because it's utterly useless, but also because it's corrupt... and criminal, as far as I'm concerned.
