I guess CNN figures they can't get into trouble with POTUS if they spend their time reporting on HOTUS (HULA of the US).

A local radio station gave me a big laugh a few weeks ago.

No mention of Obama's year-long slide in the polls. Then, the one day he goes up, it's the lead story on the the top of the hour news.

And now with this latest double-digit plunge? It'll never get mentioned.

It's disturbing to watch an administration attack a news outlet repeatedly, but the stupidity is also mind blowing. Aren't they smart enough to know what it looks like to most people? Or perhaps they're just too angry or petty to notice.
Either way, it's a boost for Fox as it becomes the only trustworthy voice around, even for those who consider themselves Democrats. Most people know the president and administration are sufficiently powerful without having a media cheering section.

Well, that does appear to be true, because he never proved to anyone, as far as I can tell from months of digging for info, that he meets the "natural-born" requirement for being President.

I hope this comes back to bite CNN. Their failure (READ: unwillingness) to be impartial and critical of the current administration will show them as an unworthy news source. If that translates ito super-low ratings, good.

Yesterday in Saskatoon I had the rare honor of seeing and hearing a "real" President. This is a man who has a strong sense of what it means to be POTUS and the responsibilities that go with that.

Obummer is a bust. A one-term wonder. Can't wait for his term to be up and he gone!

Terry Tory - your outline of Obama's need for adulation is very accurate, but I think that rather than quitting, yet, what he'll do is to become more authoritarian and repressive.

That is, I think that there are two 'voices' in the White House. There is that of Obama, whose agenda is simple: pure adulation from one and all. Period. To achieve this, he's in constant campaign mode, for it's on the campaign trail in front of screened and emotionally hyped up masses, where he gets his 'emotional fix'. He can't get it from individuals or meetings in his board room. He needs the crowds.

Again, his triad of tactics is: misinform the people with 'fictional facts' that are geared to them, and can be different to a different audience the next day. And emotional manipulation, using fear, hope.. And finally, accusations of bias if you disagree with him.

He has no interest in policy as a benefit to the American people. He will Sell Policies presented to him by his BackRoom Gang, who are all radical socialists. But he himself is not intellectually invested in anything other than Himself.

Then, there is that BackRoom Gang, who are most interested in policies and programs. Socialist ones. That set up the central government as the effective Ruler of the people; that set up an elite Washington governance to rule over the masses...who are all reduced to an 'egalitarian' mass who have no money and no power to do anything.

The White House has refused to openly recognize the existence of dissent and that includes the Town Hall meetings, the Tea Parties, it either ignored or smeared these events ..and is instead, trying to silence what it considers as the communication of dissent, by going after news media such as FOX who critique Obama and the government.

As a pathological narcissist, Obama feels no empathy for anyone, and in particular, if someone is not part of his adoring followers, this means that to him..they are not under his control. To Obama, such people literally cease to exist. And, he'll do anything he can to ensure their demise and silence. I suggest that he'll become more vicious and authoritarian, both directly and by his many proxies.

just thinkin - again, I maintain that Obama has no intellectual commitment to anything. Not a single brain cell is interested in any theory. His focus is purely and only psychological: Himself in Control of You..who must adulate him. Period.

BUT, to achieve this control over people, Obama must operate within a system where he CAN control you. So, what could he have 'grown up to be'?

Could he have become a doctor, in control of your health? Well, that would have required a LOT of learning and training and Obama is too lazy and also too emotionally needy to spend the years and time as a student and medical trainee.

A teacher? Again, the years required to learn and work..the papers required to be published..all of that takes work, and Obama requires 'emotional feeding' constantly. He can't spend the time writing and researching anything.

Politics? Ah, now that requires no training. No years of research. And, Obama played on 'the race card' to move himself in and up. All it required, in these stages, was techniques he had already perfected as a boy: Misinform; Manipulate and Accusations of Bias if you disagree. Simple. All it requires is to read from a teleprompter, wink, smile, tell people whatever will make them love him..and that's it.

He moved into the left side of the political arena, quite naturally, because it ideologically rejects individualism. Rejects individual rights, rejects individual free thinking and speaking, and sets up an elite governing class over the disempowered masses who are assumed too ignorant to govern themselves. That suits Obama perfectly.

Think of how the Democrats denigrated the people who criticized Obama in the Town Halls, in the Tea parties..calling them 'unamerican', nazis, astroturf..whatever.
Think of how Obama ignored these mass protests and when he spoke of them, sneered at them.

So, I continue to assert that Obama has no intellectual knowledge of or interest in, the political theories of the left. In socialism or communism. But he has a deep psychological need for these very same theories because they alone set up him as a member of the Elite, and reduce everyone else to a non-individualist and disempowered mass.

However, the BackRoom Gang are intellectually deeply committed to a socialist infrastructure in the US. They, as utopians, and social evolutionists, have the ignorant and arrogant notion of a 'future society' ruled totally by government. This would remove all aberrations..and therefore, all evil. Sigh. In order to achieve this utopian future, these same thugs feel quite righteous in destroying, literally not figuratively, any and all who impede their way.

Obama is quite faithful to this radical left; they enable him to psychologically exist. And, as he becomes more and more demented, needing more and more campaign events to fulfil his need for adulation..he becomes more dependent on them, and unable to confront and stop their agenda..of socialism in the US.

Perhaps I'm being superfluous and redundent, but it does seem odd that Glenn Beck merely questions the big Owe and gains so much attention from the W.H. Anyone remember Keith Olberman going apoplectic while talking about Bush? NOt a word from the Bush admin. Just a thought.

I must agree with ET (as I usually do) that O will become more frustrated and negative as his popularity continues to decline. Between the Back Room Gang ideals and the likely-hood that O will just become downright mean, I'm predicting very little good news for the U.S. over the next few years. No, I don't think he will quit. I think he will show the people of the U.S. what happens when you mess with 'perfection'.

I think it would be fun to get involved in the broader perspectives, of his being a Manchurian candidate or heck, even, the old anti-christ. But, I'll abide by Ockham's Razor and pick the simplest explanation. His narcissism.

But there are TWO agendas - and people might very well disagree with me on that. I see one agenda as belonging strictly to Obama, and that's his psychological addictive need for adulation. This need, which he probably moved into as a young boy, abandoned by his father and mother, was a tactic to enable him..not them or fate..to ensure some stability to his emotional needs. Unfortunately, he 'chose' to obtain his emotional needs by controlling and manipulating others to ensure that they 'loved' him.

Obama continued this pattern, used affirmative action and other means to advance in school, and then, moved into a career that ensured that others would 'look up' to and depend on him..as, first, community organizer. And then, politics.

At the same time, the Democrats - and I think a Set of Democrats, the radical left who have effectively taken over the Democratic Party, saw Obama's manipulative skills as a key to not merely getting them in power..for they weren't worried about that vote because of the unpopularity of Bush. But they saw Obama as The Key to getting their socialist, statist infrastructure into the US.

Obama is a master manipulator. He can lie his way out of anything - and get away with it. He'll tell an audience one thing one day, and a different audience will get the contrary the next day..and manage to get away with it, by a smile, a wink, a joke.

And, don't think that he doesn't play, constantly, the race card to stifle any emergence of dissent. Dissent? Why you are only dissenting because you are a racist. Not because of any problems with the policy. No way. Neat tactic.

Obama's approval ratings are going down, but people are still trying to give him 'the benefit of the doubt'. And all Obama does is campaign. He needs, more and more, the addictive fix of the crowd.

And, the BRG and Obama will try to stifle dissent and criticism..something that Americans are not used to having done to them. US politics is open,frank, and unlike Canadian. Stifling this openness is unheard of...But it will increase..

The question then becomes - can Obama do as he's supposed to do, which is to enable this HardCore radical socialist Set of thugs, get their agenda through Congress. Keeping Obama 'fed' with public adulation and satisfied takes a lot of work, money and energy. If he's successful then the Backroom Gang of Thugs will continue to use him. But what if he fails? Will they ditch him? Or...will he ditch them? Now, that would be quite the scenario - if the WH were to split, with each side..Obama and the BRG..battling each other.

OK ET, well and good, and I can see where your opinion on BO can fly, but then: How about that BRG so often referred to- would they fit into any of that scenario that I mentioned?

I don't see them as part of any global conspiracy. They are, all by themselves, utopian socialist statists...filled with the inanities of the totally fictional world of a global socialist system. Not that much different, frankly, from the Islamic agenda of total world domination, with everyone obeying the repressive sharia law. Islamism is as utopian and statist and repressive..as the Democrat socialist statism.

After all, this radical socialism is pretty big on many US (and other) campuses. That's because it's a completely virtual, fictional world, operative only in words. Trying to put it into actual practice and taking it off campus and out of the seminar room is difficult.

It requires essentially, destroying the individual..and you do this either by physical means..as did Mao, Stalin etc..or, intellectually, where you brainwash them into passive submission. See Kafka and Orwell.

Notice that this means the destruction of the middle class, for this class is the 'home' of the free, of the individual, of actual reality..a reality that is lived within practice rather than within words and rhetoric. And how he's trying to enlist the MSNBC as part of his personal propaganda strategy. That is, Obama and the BRG are moving the manipulation into the MSM, and using one or two key stations as part of their propaganda machinery.

You know, other large populations tried to exist without a middle class. You can only have a two class system (elite governance and the peasantry) in a medium size population, non-industrial and non-adaptive. eg..the old Islamic mentality.
BUT - once you get large populations..such a system will always, implode and collapse. Happened in ancient Egypt, Aztecs, Inca, Mayan...and in modern times, in the USSR.

The mainstream media will carry Obama over the finish line in the next election. After the democrats lose plenty in the mid-terms and the republicans pick their nominee, the target will move squarely to the GOP, and Hatchet Job, Part 2 will commence. Anytime the president mis-steps, the media will ignore it, because it doesn't fit their narrative, so it doesn't get aired.
