Seriously though, because it's Thanksgiving here in Canada, I had the opp to watch 10 minutes of, wait for it - the View! Aghhh! Their lead story was O's prize and while they bandied about his talk since 'gaining' office, they never nailed down the fact that nominations closed Feb 01. The guest conservative co-host tried to carry the argument but was drummed out in typical liberal dogma.

Interesting theory pointed out in Sat's NP that the award committee strategised that they'd award the prize to O, thus giving him the stature of a winner and all the political wight that carries but that he'd turn it down for all the same reasons that many pundits cite. But O messed them us by actually accepting it. Oops! (can you spell narsiccist?)

On another note the organizers of the Victoria Marathon had hoped that Obama would enter this years race since he would have been a shoe-in, being part Kenyan, to win. They were disappointed at the "O" no show and had to give first prize to Hillary Cheruiyot a Kenyan who actually competed.
