Good evening ladies and gentlemen, welcome to SDA Late Nite
Radio. Tonight, for your delectation, here is John Digweed with
his Salt City Orchestra mix of Cups (8:16, audio only) from his
Global Underground: Hong Kong album in 1999 (originally by
Underworld from their Beaucoup Fish album in 1998).
Your Reader Tips are, as always, welcome in the comments.
It is with great trepidation that I say that the "cups" piece by John Digweed was very peaceful.

"Manitoba snowfall amount rare for October
Winnipeg had a lot of snow dumped on it Friday.
Rob Paola, a meteorologist with Environment Canada, said 10 centimetres of snow fell across the city Friday, with most coming between 6 p.m. and midnight.
He said southern Manitoba doesn't often see such large amounts of snow this early in October.
"It is unusual. It has happened though, on a couple of occasions," Paola said yesterday. "But it's unusual to see this much snow this early."

"Wind turbine in Sheffield broken by wind for second time
Blade on a wind turbine in Sheffield has broken in strong winds for the second time in 15 months.
Manufacturers of the 190ft high turbine, one of three owned by Sheffield University, are now investigating the damage at the site close to the city's Parkway link road to the M1.
A blade on the same turbine was broken 15 months ago and residents who live close to the site at Catcliffe, near Rotherham, have expressed fears that they could pose a danger to local people.
Martin Oldfield said : "I'm worried about them from a safety point of view as they are quite close to the road and a supermarket where a lot of people go.
"There are workmen up there now starting work on repairing it but now that it's happened a second time clearly there is a serious issue.
"There was one bright side - as soon as the blade snapped off the TV signal instantly improved and I could see all my programmes properly again.""

"USA Today to post 17% drop in circulation
NEW YORK - USA Today expects to report the largest decline in circulation in its 27-year history, threatening its No. 1 position among U.S. dailies as the growth of online news and the slump in travel pummel the newspaper.
While most large dailies are struggling to hold on to print subscribers and newsstand sales, USA Today is being hurt by a drop in traffic at airports and hotels, the newspaper's mainstay. It also increased the price of single copies to $1 from 75 cents last December.
In a memo to staff Friday, USA Today publisher David Hunke said the average circulation at the Gannett Co.-owned newspaper was 1.88 million from April through September. That marks a loss of 398,000 copies, or 17 per cent, from the same period the year before at the newspaper, which is printed on weekdays only.
The figures for USA Today and other newspapers are due to be released Oct. 26 by the Audit Bureau of Circulations. The decline was reported earlier by Editor&Publisher."

"Barney Frank: “Traitor at large”
WASHINGTON – Rep. Barney Frank, an openly gay member of Congress, says he’d rather see gay rights supporters lobbying their elected officials than marching in Washington this weekend, calling the demonstration “a waste of time at best.”
Frank said in an interview with The Associated Press that he considers such demonstrations to be “an emotional release” that does little to pressure Congress.
“The only thing they’re going to be putting pressure on is the grass,” the Massachusetts Democrat said Friday.
Thousands of gay men and women are expected to gather for Sunday’s National Equality March."

It is difficult to trust again, to have faith, to love, to be led, to collaborate. Feelings of shame and guilt engulf the erstwhile followers of the narcissist. [The newspaper proceeds to point out that Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin warned Obama and U.S. Congress not to follow the path to Marxism. ‘Apparently, even though we suffered 70 years of this Western sponsored horror show, we know nothing, as foolish, drunken Russians, so let our “wise” Anglo-Saxon fools find out the folly of their own pride.’]

Posted by: maz2 at October 11, 2009 3:57 PMThe link below is to a National Review editorial concerning Obama's recent Nobel "Prize". It pretty much summarizes what I think of Obama and the award. I would only add that if Obama had any concern at all for America, he would recognize that the award is being given to him in an effort to control him. The Norwegians practically said as much. That the Norwegians would think to influence him by appealing to his ego shows, I think, how little they actually admire him.
