The ups and downs of methane.

Posted by: andycanuck at October 12, 2009 12:59 PMYet another inconvenient truth for the eco-fascists and world government proponents. Not that it will have any impact, since it will be ignored by the State Run Media (SRM).
I ordered my copy of Not Evil Just Wrong, and am looking forward to airing it at my home later this month.

The University of Gas
Welcome to the University of Gas, the only university dedicated to teaching you about the ins and outs of gas. To learn all about gas – and more importantly how to prevent it – I recommend you start with my first lesson and work your way through. Only then will you earn your Masters of Gas Preventionology, which is a degree everyone can appreciate.
Ate too much Thanksgiving turkey? You need lessons at the University of Gas sponsored by Beano.
Saving the planet one flatulence at a time.
This important message brought to you by the Thanksgiving turkey.

Well , i just did my part and contributed my share of methane into our atmosphere .Do i need to by credit's for that, or can i just give it a wipe ?

Posted by: paul at October 12, 2009 1:45 PMMethane differs from CO2 in that methane is highly reactive (as you Blue Angel fans know). It takes CO2 an average of 50 to 100 years to be removed from the atmosphere, whereas it's about 12 years for methane.
This makes things more complicated, cause climate models must model the rate of methane breakdown accurately or be seriously wrong.
Posted by: rabbit at October 12, 2009 2:36 PMnothing like a ppb graph with a 300 ppb range to throw off the journalists. not that many years ago we couldnt read ppb on anything
Posted by: cal2 at October 12, 2009 3:08 PMObviously their pollution abatement programs are working beyond their wildest expectations.
Giving Gas-X to cattle is finally paying off.
Posted by: POWinCA at October 12, 2009 3:13 PMHey, I think paul has come up with a use for carbon credits! Except I bet they print them on that scratchy paper.
Posted by: tim in vermont at October 12, 2009 3:54 PMI think there's a lot of turkey gas passing for politics this weekend...
Posted by: Tripper523 at October 12, 2009 3:56 PMIf global cooling becomes a problem, they will mandate that we feed the cows beans.
Posted by: tim in vermont at October 12, 2009 4:19 PMCaught Climate Change Al on Fox this morning. Sign of the capital "L".
If global warming becomes junk science, is there anyone around to axe cap and trade?
Posted by: Mazzuchelli at October 12, 2009 4:39 PMSnipped from a Reuters release from an hour ago:
~~~~~~~~~~~
NEW YORK (Reuters) - Oil jumped 2 percent on Monday on optimism about the pace of global economic recovery and as cold weather across the United States boosted fuel demand.
"Stunning records for cold were set across the nation, increasing the demand for heating fuels over the weekend," said Phil Flynn, analyst for PFGBest Research in Chicago.
Posted by: Colin from Mission B.C. at October 12, 2009 4:50 PMIf AGW/Globull warming/Climate Change was an airport, it would never be open,as turkeys can't fly.
Posted by: Justthinkin at October 12, 2009 5:29 PMBwahahahahahaha....damn. Almost spewed my turkey. Just noticed your new line for literature,Kate.
So I'm a bit late. Good food,friends,and booze will have that effect :)
" Oil jumped 2 percent on Monday on optimism about the pace of global economic recovery and as cold weather across the United States boosted fuel demand."
I am beginning to think these commodities traders are as simplistic in their thinking as those two old guys in the Eddie Murphy movie "Trading Places"
Bidding up Oil because of a cold spell. Believing the hype of an economic recovery? Where? How?
Posted by: tim in vermont at October 12, 2009 6:21 PMFor all the "Party of Science" people reading this, you know who you are, this means that the theory advanced as to the projected level of methane and the drivers, forcings, interactions, etc to cause it was ...Wrong!
It is not mostly right, it is not trending right, it is wrong, Period. Start over.
That my "Party of Science" supporters, is The Scientific Method. Now take all your other "theories" and subject them to the same test.
Have a nice science filled day.
Posted by: bartinsky at October 12, 2009 11:57 PMIt is surprising how easy it is to still encounter folks who have no idea that the hockey stick has been thoroughly discredited/debunked, resurected and reburied.
These frauds still proclaim their nonsense as if nothing happened.
And the MSM cranks up the nonsense as the Copenhagen farce nears.
