The latest Michael Yon dispatch from Afghanistan
Posted by Kate at August 24, 2009 11:42 AMMichael Yon has been cancelled as an embed with the British forces.
Too bad. His stuff is amazing. MSM only tells us about the casualties.
Thanks for the link Kate.
Posted by: bluetech at August 24, 2009 2:15 PMI hope that people recognize Michael Yon for the reporting that he's been doing these past few years all on his own dime and those generous enough to contribute. Wouldn't it be great if he won a Pulitzer?

Posted by: favill at August 24, 2009 2:15 PMGreat read. Glad the mission was a success. A perspective that only Yon can get. Two wars, Iraq and Afghanistan and only one Yon. MSM-MIA.
Posted by: Agent Smith at August 24, 2009 3:23 PMTried to post a dispatch by Micheal on the steps taken by the US to save a British soldier. Tried to post the link four times but goes into the ether. If you want to read it you will have to google Do the Americans like the British. Four planes flying in 2 surgical teams one in A'stan one from Germany and getting him out.
Posted by: speedy at August 24, 2009 4:15 PMYon and his stories, like Al Qaeda baking children, are probably what got him dropped as a mil blogger.
Posted by: ulianov at August 24, 2009 4:33 PMUli, have you managed to debunk the story yet?
Guess the chopping off of fingers of those who vote and pouring acid on school girls is too much for you as well eh ?
Yon quoted an Iraqi official. Yon later qualified "no opinion about the veracity of [the official's] words" It doesn't mean it's not true.
You see Uli some reporters, (maybe one in 10 thousand) still do that - qualify things that they can't prove. It's not always like here in Canada where you can do wafer stories.
Posted by: Agent Smith at August 24, 2009 5:44 PMComrade ulianov appears a mite confused about the difference between a milblogger and an embed. Also about the idea that being dropped as an embed with one nation's military does not mean being dropped as an embed with every nation's military.
It's OK, comrade. Just stop trying to think and the headaches in your pointy head will go away.

Afanestan need period of united together back again and other party in oppostion seat and find any problems like crowna nd lawyer to help the case and issue and less
spend time to each other power pulling
this period taht each other calling name and fruad must wipe out soon
in future vote must get in all world under
way to reduce fruad and awarness and peopel know what each party can do for them
Afgani should know it does not matter who is PM or president it is important to put issue and solve it by prioritize the issue in region and give lesson to Pakistan and Iran to learn from them
united period take at least one to two month to cool down both parties
