Is there nothing that Obama can't do?
Posted by Kate at August 17, 2009 4:31 PMSelf-identified conservatives outnumber self-identified liberals in all 50 states of the union, according to the Gallup Poll.
At the same time, more Americans nationwide are saying this year that they are conservative than have made that claim in any of the last four years. In 2009, 40% percent of respondents in Gallup surveys that have interviewed more than 160,000 Americans have said that they are either “conservative” (31%) or “very conservative” (9%). That is the highest percentage in any year since 2004.
Only 21% have told Gallup they are liberal, including 16% who say they are “liberal” and 5% who say they are “very liberal.”
It was "Yes, We Can"
Now it is "No, I won't".
Obamasiah . . . turning soft democrats into conservatives in droves.
"In that dark dank damp bottomless pit which is conservatism a tiny light shines. When hopelessness reigns supreme; the hopeless look for anything to latch on to. Now that Sarah Palin is nothing more than supermarket tabloid fodder; the female of the hour is Michelle Malkin...." - n.s.e.s. at 1:40 PM on the "Culture of Corruption" thread.
Projection much, "stirred brain"?
November, 1994 = November, 2010? I surre hope so!
Posted by: jwkozak91 at August 17, 2009 5:16 PMWell the majority is obviously wrong and will have to be re-educated as soon as possible. They are clearly standing in the way of liberalisms opportunity to impose the proper attitudes in the people whether they like it or not. On the plus side perhaps the Canadian people will take note and wake up before its too late....Well maybe not...
Posted by: Rick Rae at August 17, 2009 5:26 PMIs this a classic example of rats abandoning a sinking ship? The only thing that changes on a liberal is their lip position.
Posted by: Western Canadian at August 17, 2009 5:29 PMThe Communist Party of the USA is still counting on the final victory and the last quelling of opposition to communism.
They term it Obamajority, the world's attraction to their puppet.

Maggie Thatcher, I think.

I wonder how come we don't hear about polls taken in Canada like the one in this post.
Perhaps because they tell a truth too inconvenient for the Leftist Big Media to dare report?
Posted by: Canadian Sentinel at August 17, 2009 6:04 PMSomething the left can't admit is that a large number of Americans ignored their usual political leanings and voted for obozo out of a sense of historical fairness. They just figured it was time to give a black guy a shot at the top job. (I kind of felt that way myself, despite my feelings about a democratic president.)
Sigh. Why did it have to turn out so badly? This is like when I wanted kim campbell to be PM.
Basic lesson learned; avoid identity politics.
The backlash among MOR Democrats is going to drown the freaks who have hijacked the party and it's agenda.
Goodby Pelosi ... and all your weasel freinds too.
Too bad the tools had to be beaten over the head with the hammer and sickle before they figured out what they had to do.

Now that Obama has shown weakness and taken his healthcare plan off the table, he's finished.
American's don't do left and they don't do weakness.
Posted by: Beer and Popcorn at August 17, 2009 6:38 PMRonald Reagan would be very, very pleased with this turn of events.
He always said that he had great faith in the abilities of "we the people" to separate the wheat from the chaff, and to choose the right course for the ship of state.
This one's for the gipper.
Posted by: MikeM at August 17, 2009 7:06 PMThe Big Owe's done. The 2010 mid-terms are gonna be a slaughter.

It is trendier to be a conservative than a liberal ... finally!
Consider that a Liberal is a weak person who is reliant on others to get by.
A conservative is a strong person who is self-reliant and willing to take care of him/herself, family and even others in need.
Who would you rather be?
Posted by: Momar at August 17, 2009 7:31 PMAnd in other news, it is reported that Michelle Obama has 22 staffers looking after her needs as first lady. Laura Bush, in contrast, had ONE. And Jackie O had three.
YES WE CAN...spend other peoples' money, that is...
Posted by: Bruce at August 17, 2009 8:04 PMLink please Bruce...that's ammo.
I thought she was all about the little people.
Maybe those are 22 slaves.
bluetech.
I'm curious about the pigmentation of those handmaidens.

You know why? Because anybody with an IQ above room temperature can see which side has the intellectual firepower. Would you want to join the side that takes orders from a web site like "Talking Points Memo" or an echo chamber like Daily Kos, and has no answer for the first hostile question, and an abysmal record of performance? Or a side that reasons from a basic set of principles using logic and evidence, and a successful historic track record?
It's not that hard. Liberals are 20%, but since they don't socialize with non liberals due to a combination of bigotry and insecurity, they just don't realize that.
Posted by: tim in vermont at August 17, 2009 8:31 PMBluetech - here's the information:
http://www.politicsdaily.com/2009/07/06/what-michelle-obamas-staffers-earn/
I count 22 on the list for a total salary budget of $1.6 million.
That's 21 jobs "saved or created".
The Republicrats need a to manufacture a scarier impending crisis than the Demicans so they can offer more vital hope and change.
Posted by: Colonel Edward Mandell House at August 17, 2009 8:59 PMnow would be a bood time for people to go back and watch the landmark speech Rush made in january - the one BO attacked - in it he argues that conservatives are the majority - that many people who are consevative don't even know that they are. This is echoed and argued by Newt BTW.
Perhaps, unlike in the late 70s during the bleakest post-nixon years, we won't need a single conservative leader to emerge but rather a leadership group - constituted by the likes of Rush, Newt, Romney, Jindal, Pawlenty, Beck, Hannity, Hewitt and on the fringes - Miller and O'Reilly.

Winning question or not?
Posted by: set you free at August 17, 2009 10:24 PMActually just observe the Democrats.....based on the resources they have deployed to discredit her......she is the Democrats'biggest threat and the Republican' greatest asset.
Posted by: sasquatch at August 17, 2009 10:40 PMHere's a quote from Lorne Gunter in the Post - this thinking seems like a loonnnng time ago these days, doesn't it?
"The implication always was that somehow the Democrats had superior intelligence and judgment. With their innate brilliance, cultural sensitivity and constitutional respect, they would be able to keep America safe without placing everyone (especially Muslims) under suspicion."
Posted by: Beer and Popcorn at August 17, 2009 10:50 PMvote, i don't know anyone who voted for that or him or any other thing. ideas, jeez we didn't vote for ideas did we?
